Could have been so much better

Ok. I admit. I have only played the demo. On that basis though, unless something major is changed on the game play this will not be joining my game collection. I was excited, when I read the game preview in a certain magazine. They claimed thay had cleared up all the problems from 'Starfleet Academy'- 'You are now flying a massive starship, not an x-wing fighter'. Great! So, you can imagine how disappointed I was when I set the game speed to its lowest setting and, yes, you are no longer flying an x-wing, probably more like the Millennium Falcon. The graphics are great. No voice interaction (check out Jane's USAF), how wonderful it would have been to issue commands in either English or Klingon! I hope the final version will be better, but I somehow doubt it.

Exellent! like a 3d Starfleet Command-but with more ships!

This game is exellent. Even the demo is jam packed full of features. There are 6 races, and the only flaw that I noticed was the fact that there are no Hydrans. Despite that fact, the game is otherwise amazing!

This game is the best!

Ok, the graphics are beyond anything ive ever seen, the game play is wonderful, and the effects are unbealiveable! you can fire a photon through hulls of ships, and it will leave a hole, then, you can zoom in, and count the rooms that have been exposed to space! Phasers even leave burn marks! If you like games, or trek, you need this game!

The new standard for space flight combat simulations

I thought X-Wing alliance set the standard for space flight simulation games. However, after playing through the first few missions, I was finally convinced that Klingon Academy puts X-Wing alliance and all others to shame. With Klingon Academy you get more than just random dog fights like in the X-wing games. In fact, in this game, you will be given the chance to hail and communicate with other ships, receive distress calls in near DVD like video with real, human, flesh and blood actors dressed in Klingon attire, the same goes for the pre-mission briefing-during which you will receive a short Klingon philosphy lesson, a Shakespear sonnet, and Klingon mission objectives all given by Christopher Plummer in full Klingon dress uniform that was used in Star Trek VI. Buy it today!

Doom in Space

I bought the full version. It is great. Finally a Star Trek First Person Shooter (FPS)! The graphics and sound are excellent. The scenarios are varied-- you are underground, in spaceships, ON THE OUTSIDE OF A SPACE SHIP AND SPACE STATION (what's great here is that inertia ACTUALLY WORKS! So be careful what direction you are facing and be sure your gravity boots are firmly attached to the hull!). This is the first, FPS I have ever played that really gave you the "feel" of really doing a space walk while firing at your enemies. I can hardly wait for ST: Elite Force.

Perfect for all

When I first got Klingon Academy I didn't really know what to expect. What I had gotten seemed to me, to be one of the best sci-fi simulation games of all time, It has wonderfull special effects, great video scenes, and a solid storyline. Mainly what you have here is an exellent game, even if your not a real fan of star trek you'll love it. And for those Trekkers out there you'll be amazed at the realism of 23rd Century combat, You encounter multiple alien speices and are faced with a variety of problems.I would reccomend this game to anyone, and in case any of you are wondering, This game is Roughly 1000 times better than The infamously terrible, starfleet Academy. This game is a must-see, And if you don't buy it, at least check out the demo, Trust me- if you buy Klingon Academy you'll definetly get your money's worth.

Not what it claims to be!

If you want yet another dogfight game, here it is. If you want a game where you feel as though you are commanding a starship, as depicted in the Star Trek movies, you had better pass. Cut scenes? Wow, impressive, and with David Warner no less! Graphics? NONE BETTER! Neat way to blow stuff up? Oh, yea! A great game for those under 30 with cat like reflexes. No cunning needed here. However, you had better be more practised in an immelman turn than the corbomite bluff if you want to suceed at this game, and that precisly is the opposite of what is advertised.

Someone wrote they thought the new starhips still turn too fast. If this person has only played the single-player demo, then they are only get BattleCruisers! The multi-player demo, which can be downloaded, include smaller ships (Cruisers) such as the Enterprise (refit), and a Klingon and a Romulan. Very cool game. I can't wait to try the full version!

Great 3D engine and a fantastic game

Wow....... the graphics of this game are great.... although i don't fancy The Old Series based games ..... this one is nothing to hate ...... exept for movement which is kind of rusty ...... but that's not really a problem ..... everything in this game is great if you have a good computer! though Star Trek games have a reputation of lousy games, this one cannot be categorized as a lousy game but a great game and it's defenatly the best Star Trek game i've seen,

seeing a bolt of Heavy Disruptors going through a destroyer is magnificent .... this is a feature that has never before been seen in a Space Simulation game (or not that i know of anyway) i could keep on going about this game forever but i'll try to be brief,

Great 3D engine, great sound, great features, very fun, it's breathtaking it's kind of hard in the beginning, that is learning how the buttons work and such .... but after playing like 3 missions in the simulator you'll get the hang of it, i can't say anything bad about this game, I have been waiting for this kind of a game since i saw Birth Of The Federation although i was hoping for a next generation based game, i've ususally found something wrong with a Star Trek game but not this one ....... exept for the rusty movement of the ships .... but the movement is not that rusty that you'll really notice it! i recommend you buy this game or borrow it from a friend because if you play it for a while you'll start to fancy it!

here are some grades i'm going to give this game

graphics: 10 sound: 10 difficulty: hard learning curve: about 1- 1 1/2 hour fun factor: extreme

please tell me if this review helped you

Qa`Pla!

Talk about the perfect ST game! Starfleet Command was close, but nothing beats this one! The thrill of coming up point blank range to a Federation starship, uncloaking, and letting loose...whooo boy! For those who couldnt get enough of General Chang in ST:VI, the cut scenes of his explaining Klingon honor and life are wonderful. And if you really have to play Federation, you can in the instant battle sequence. The new ship designs are too cool...backgrounds are beautiful...seeing a ship slowly gutted....ahhhhhhh..... This game really really deserves the 5 stars! Kudos and Qa`pla to Interplay!
