i am an avid gamer, and am very fond of the aliens series, so i thought that this game would be a dream come true. infortunately, it wasn't. first of all, there are only 15 different maps. the maps get reused so frequently, it gets boring after a while. the learning curve is vewry basic, despite what the box says, and the alien is by far the easyest (sp?) to use. the marine is at an unfair disadvantage, as he only has a limite4d number of weapons, and they get taken away after every level. instead of a campain, the game has a mission sstem, like a video game. on top of that, you have to beat on the most difficult setting to play all of the "unique" levels. this is IMPOSIBLE to do with the marine. what this game needs is a really good add on, to save it from the pits of video game hell. if you want a good shooter, for the same price, buy half-life, game of the year edition; it comes with a free copy of team fortress, a game that alone blows avp out of the water.

A Classic In Its Own Right

Ever since the movie Predator 2 came out.And the Alien head appeared in the Predator trophy room on his ship.Everybody thought of how cool it would be to see those two franchises collide. And so it happened.First in the comic books of AVP and then in Atari as a video game.So it was about time for the two scariest aliens ever to a appear on film for them to be on PC.

This a first person shooter game. You have the choice of playing Alien,Predator or Human. Each character has about 6 Levels & some bonus levels get unlocked when you finsh the levels with a certain difficulty.Alien levels are the easiest because of his speed & agility. The Predator is the most technologically advanced. And the Marine levels are the hardest were the lowest on the food chain. There also multiplayer to play online with friends. And there number of areas to choice from.

In most of the levels the areas and situations will resemble situations from the films. Also there are number of choice of weapons for Predator & the Marine. But for the Alien only claws, tail and teeth. The game is pretty easy to play. The controls are easy so you will get the hand of it.The game is scary in some sections when the Aliens jump ouf nowhere at start wounding. Also the music adds to suspence and rythm to the game.

The only thing i could say that this game is missing is a plot. There is no real story. Each level give you little things.Like while youre playing it will tell you something like save the hive or destroy this.Very simple.
The graphics are pretty good for the time that game came out.Truth is looks pretty good for the test of time.So is the sound that is 3D sound.

I enjoyed every second of this game. Its cool & creepy game.A must for Alien & Predator fans.

One of the best concepts for a game ever!

Never have I seen a game that keeps you on your toes, as well as the edge of your seat, better than this one. Alien vs. Predator has been my favorite concept overall for movies, games, etc. I am just now in the middle of reading the Alien vs. Predator screenplay that was made for a feature film, but never brought to the post-production stages. Not only were my two favorite series ever meeting to form a potentially great film, the one-and-only director Robert Rodriguez was cast to direct it. Although they did not carry this idea out, I'm sure in the near future they will. Anyway, this game captivates all of the suspense from both series, and unleashes them in a triple-bypass event of fright. Allowing access to any of the three characters is a genious idea. I highly suggest playing this game for anyone who is a fan of either of the series.

Yikes! Call me a wuss, but some of the areas in AvP made me jump out of my chair! The atmosphere in most of the levels are very dark, so when something JUMPS OUT AT YOU, your heart rate tends to skyrocket! The facehuggers are especially nasty (and cheap), jumping out and landing on your face for an instant kill. My god, when a facehugger jumps on your face, making an awful hissing noise and quite abruptly takes up 80% of the screen, it's a wonder why Fox Interactive hasn't been sued yet for causing a few heart attacks! And man, this game is HARD! But, Fox has released a patch with a save feature, so it's okay now. Believe me, this game is not intended for the faint of heart! But, for those of us who aren't, go out and BUY this! And play it at night too...with the lights turned off.

AvP is an excellent game.I enjoy the Predator the most.He has the best stamina and weapons. Your weapons are wristblades, speargun, shoulder cannon, medi-kit,pistol and disc. The human and Alien are also very impressive, so buy the game. Enjoy!

You are a clonial marine. Your squad has already been taken out by a group of vicious xenomorphs. You hold your pulse rifle close as you enter the alien hive. You can still hear the screams of your men in the distance. Soon they will be impregnated with an alien. Suddenly slime falls from the wall, you look up and the alien jumps down on you. These and more suprisies await you in this game. A must have for anyone

Aliens vs. Predator is the 2nd coolest game I have ever played! It's graphics are very good, it does not stall like some games, and the sounds are so realistic!

Alien (4/5 stars) As an alien, you have no weapons expcept your claws, tail, and headbiting jaw inside your mouth. The alien is extremely vulnerable, but is faster than the human or Predator. The alien is the second most fun character out of the three to portray.

Marine (2/5 stars) As a Marine/soldier, you are the most vulnerable of the species, and you get a Pulse Rifle but hardly any ammo. And when you use up your rifle you have a combat knife! How the hell is someone supposed to take out a bunch of swarming aliens with a tiny little survival knife?!

Predator (5/5 stars) The Predator is the coolest one to be! You get a lot of great weapons, such as the Plasma Caster, Wristblades, Speargun, etc. You can take trophies (like in the movie) and you get assorted vision modes, Thermal, Infra-Red, Neg. Art, and normal. The Predator is really cool and this is the one you should try first!

Multi-Player (5/5 stars) Though everybody is playing Multi-Player with AvP2 now, it is still really cool on AvP1, and it is the only time I really even think about chosing to be a Colonial Marine. I always choose the Mini-Gun if I am a Marine. CO-OP is really hard, you make one step and hords of aliens come swarming at you (Mini-Gun gets the job done, though).

Overall (5/5 stars) This is a great game and I recommend to any Alien and Predator fan. But, I would recommend AvP2 a bit more than I would this one.

One of a finger-ful of first-person-shooters that actually tries something new, 'Aliens Vs Predator' is fantastic for as long as it lasts, which unfortunately isn't all that long. Splitting the game into Marine, Alien and Predator phases ensures great variety, but you feel that you're playing three short games instead of one long one. Still, it's worth the price for the Alien segments alone. Whilst the Marine stages are superior shoot-em-up action with an extremely scary atmosphere, and the Predator section seems oddly detatched (we never learn enough about the creature in the films to care much, although the execution of his multiple vision modes is superb), the Alien sections could be a game in themselves. Treating ceilings and walls as if they were floors, as the Alien you have to keep yourself hidden, and restrict your combat to quick darts from the shadows. The feeling of power, as you cling to a roof high above your blinded, blundering victim-to-be, is addictive, and soon you'll be disappointed that people don't scream in horror when you approach them in real life.

The graphics and sound are top-notch, both in their own right and as adaptations of existing material. The alien and human environments match those of the film, and the selection of weaponry intelligently expands on that presented in 'Aliens'. Best of all, there are lots of nice touches - the sound and music is sampled from the films, the Predator's vision modes switch with a familiar 'whack' noise, and you're encouraged to replay the game by an extensive series of bonus items, bestowed by achieving certain difficult goals. The short FMV sequences are top-notch, too.

A word of warning - it's extremely hard and very intense. The Marine spends most of his time running backwards from approaching aliens (and if you stand on a face-hugger, you will leap out of your skin), the Alien is vulnerable to bullets, and the Predator, whilst tough, is overcome by sheer weight of numbers. Unless you download a patch, you can't even save the game within a mission, something which is both admirably brave of the programmers and extremely intimidating.

All in all, it's two-thirds superior shoot-em-up and one-third genius, polished until it shines and pumped up with steroids.

THIS GAME SUCKS. Dont beleave the hype on this one. Beleave me, I am a die hard aliens&predator fan to the end. And it sadens me to have to say this. But the plan facts of this one are this game sucks. The creators of this one spent way to much time on the grahics and way to little on the controls of the charicters and gameplay. Sure the game does have some of the best images in it, but thats to only trick this pony can do. I hope that i just got a defective copy of the game becouse after about half an hour playing it i fell like a fool for using my money to buy it. I just cant stress enough how bad the controls are on this game. It was like the characters were on pcp, the slitest little tap on the controls sent them shooting all over the place, not the best thing to have happen when trying to track an alien. The controls are way over sensative and with no way to adjust them hitting targets is a challange to the best shoot. Another problem is that when your character gets hit the screen gets covored by a sheet the color your the creatures blood. blocking you from seeing what is going on in the game, which is bad since the computer keeps on attacking you and your death come soon after since you cant see to fire back or run away. So in conlucsion, stay away from this one, it could have been one of the best but just dosn't have what it takes. Save your money and look elsewhare.

I only need to know one thing, where...they...are!

This game is relentless! Its sound effects, graphics, and atmosphere are a real treat for ALIENS and PREDATOR fans. Another great feature is disc 2, which is a collection of great game music. But you know whats even better than that? Well heres a little trick I came up with; instead, try putting the actual soundtrack to the ALIENS movie in first! For die hard fans, this is as close to being on LV426 as you'll get (without actualy hitching a ride on the Sulaco).
