The game is a little different in comparrison to other online shooters in respect to using the vehicles and getting use to the size of the maps. I am a Counter Strike Source (CSS) player myself and it is a COMPLETELY different playing style. Now that I have gotten better at using vehicles (mainly the helicopter) I almost prefer it over CSS. If you buy and do not like it for some reason give it time to grow on you. It worked for me. I love it.

to make bf2 run smoothly with windows vista. Here are the steps:
1. Make a shortcut of BF2 and all the booster packs if you got any.
2.Then right-click on the shortcut and click properties.
3. Click the compatibility tab and check the box "run as administrator"
4. Check the box to run it in compatibility mode and click apply. Then click ok.
5. do this for each shortcut if you have booster packs.
Remember to only start BF2 from thos shortcuts or the changes you made wont be applied! ENJOY! I did those steps to make bf2 work for me and it was really easy.

Compre el juego original por el precio y la promocion de tener la expansion del special forces que se juega mucho online.

El unico detalle que no me gusto son los 5 cds de instalacion, pero bueno eso es una vez y no mas.

Not a kid. I don't feel like makin a purchase.

I must first say that my computer is relatively new, around 6 months ago. I have 2 gigs of RAM and 7500 GeForce Nvidia Card. I am able to run this with graphics on full with very little to no lag.

With that said, even if you don't have a great card, this is a great game. Running with graphics at rock bottom will still give you a great game.

If you're a fan of Tom Clancy, Command & Conquer, the Battlefield series, Star Wars: Battlefront... pretty much video games in general... you'll love this game. It has elements from FPS, strategy, and tactical combined, giving you a well rounded experience with excellent equipment and vehicles at the same time. DO NOT get the base game without Spec Forces. Its just not worth it.

Special Forces gives you unlockable weapons, like the FlashBang grenade, usable in the base game maps if unlocked. This will give you an edge over the mainstream players, since they can't shoot at what they can't see.

Whatever you hear, the game DOES NOT REQUIRE GameSpy Arcade. All you have to do is create an account in which to log in with. Simple, easy, free, and requires only e-mail. I mean, I PAY for Xbox Live, and I have the Modern Combat version on Xbox 360 (which is nothing compared to this).

Excellent game, for the crazy run-and-gunners, drivers, pilots, snipers, Scott Mitchells, and Norman Schwarzkopfs in all of us.

Grea game. I love the fact that you can have 64 people playing in one game. that means 32 people on 1 team. Thats unheard of. No other games i have played compare to this. But there is a price. You need a graphics card, atleast I recommend one. You will need to close every program in order to play this or else it will create lag like never before. Logging in for me takes around 2 minutes because I have not yet figured out how to turn the auto-server connect feature. Get this game if you are ready to enter a whole new dimension of online gaming. The gameplay is like you are actually there, it is truely amazing. You get ranked in the game, the higher the rank the more seniority you have over other players. Thats a good feeling. Get this game.

A Great game, but with Great demands!

Battlefield 2 is a great game, as long as your computer can handle it. I just got a Compaq Presario SR2038X for Christmas, and it can barely handle this game. And this is a decent computer. It had an AMD Athlon 64 dual-core processor, a 256 NVIDIA graphics card, 1 GB of Ram; I mean this computer handles all my other games fine. But this game is demanding! Don't get me wrong, it's a great game, but just make sure your computer can handle it before you go out and buy it. With my computer I can run it on the lowest settings, with textures set to medium. Anything higher than that and my computer will crash! So beware, you need a super computer to run this thing stably. The game is actually very fun though. If you have played any other previous Battlefield games, then you'll definitely want to buy this one, you won't be disappointed. The graphics are good; there are a bunch of new weapons, and some sweet new vehicles. The online play has also been improved, now allowing you to chat with your squad members in real time through a headset. I recommend this package over BF2 itself, because if you buy Battlefield 2, like it (which you probably will), and then buy Special Forces separately, you're looking at spending $50. Here, if you buy them both together, you save yourself 10 bucks. The expansion is also pretty cool, giving you new armies to fight as, new maps, and some new weapons and gadgets like grappling hooks and night vision goggles. So overall, this is a great game, just as long as your computer can handle it.

Addicting to play with friends

If you enjoy teaming up with friends online to play battle games then there is really no better FPS then Battlefield 2. The map, vehicle and kit variations are a ton of fun to use in strategic ways. From C4 explosives, to MiG fighter jets to Abrams Tanks, there is simply alot to like about BF2. Yes, there are some balance problems. The chinese J-10 jet, for instance, has always been much more powerful and stealthy than all the other planes. But something like this is simply one small flaw in an otherwise blast of a game to play. I've been playing since June 2005 and I still love it.
