Don't buy this game YET

I would seriously wait till a 'patch' comes out to fix this game. It's got it's good points, but many bad points.

The 1st thing you do 'each episode' is walk around your camp (you can't control it), gathering wood, cooking, etc. this is your opportunity to chat with the other survivors. the conversation is canned, and after a few episodes, it gets really boring.

some of the challenges are ok, but most of them are bad. my buggy version had me pushing a boulder up a hill only to lose strength and I had to wait for the other team to beat me, which took 45 minutes. the graphics are 3d, but on my Celeron 866 they look worse than Doom, and it's pretty clunky.

The sound is good. Tribal council is anticlimactic, and the voting never made much sense.

This game is ONLY for the big fan of the show (like me). Anyone else will think it really bites.

What a lame game - don't waste your time or money

I'm a huge Survivor fan and bought this game. What a huge disappointment. Terrible graphics, stupid challenges. The worst part is watching poorly animated figures walking around camp and having to have the same conversation with each of them. You can only ask a certain number of questions and answer with lame responses. How many times can you ask "what do you miss most" and answer " chocolate" before your brain starts getting squishy. I was completely bored of this game after about 20 minutes.
There is nothing entertaining about this other than some of the graphics are so bad you have to laugh.
My advice, save your money and get a good book or DVD instead.

CAN YOU VOTE ME OFF?

I am a big fan of Survivor, watch every episode, and this is also the reason I bought this game.

Before I started this game, I already told myself this will not be a great game because of the graphics I saw on the box and the challenges look stupid. But I am a big fan, what can I say.

So I played the game, the first episode looks cool. Walk around (however you can't control your character where to go and what to do, computer does them all) and talk to people, forming alliance. And then go to the challenge, which is hard. But it was my first episode, so I thought it looks fine. The funniest part was the tribal council, which I get to vote someone off. However, from the information I got from other people in my tribe during the day, and who to vote for - is totally different from the result of the tribal council. That's okay with me, I am still at the beginning of the game, and thought that I can control better later on.

The second episode, same things happened again. So as 3rd and 4th... Plus losing in every challenges (boring challenges that all look similar - from what I saw, there are only 3 kinds of challenges, one is shooting, two is questionaire, three is pushing rocks which took half hour to complete) is not that fun, especially when you know you are going to lose. And I also wonder why no one vote for me in any of the tribal council... so I tried to be the bad guy and said all kind of bad things to my tribemate, still, I didn't get vote off.

Since I lost every challenges, we merge with 2 from my team and 8 from the other. And then we playing personal immunity challege. The challenge wanted me to push a rock up to the mountain (again..) after 30 minutes, I was about the to be first one to cross the line, but I did not do it. Instead, I just wait and let me other former-tribemate (Gretchen, and I am Greg) to win me, because I want to see if I can get vote off when I was against 8 "opposite-tribemate".

So tribal council, with 8 votes, I am the weakest link, and finally I can say "GOODBYE" to the game, thank you.

This is how bad I wanted to end the game, so do you think it worth to buy it?

Survivor: The Interdictive Game

Well, after reading several reviews of this game before buying it, I was coming in with really low expectations. Unfortunately, I didn't set them low enough.

I won't even mention the unspeakable horror that is the survival period. The challenges are what really get me. How hard would it have been to lift real challenges out of the show? There are five types of challenges: fatigue meter management, space bar holding, mouse shooting gallery, repetitive trivia, and what I call "trust" challenges.

The fatigue meter challenges are by far the easiest and most boring. All you have to do is turn down your effort when your fatigue starts to get red, then turn it back up as soon as it gets green again. Some fatigue meter challenges can last for 20 minutes.

The space bar holding challenges usually involve throwing something, and you have to determine how much power you want to put in your throw. Once you figure out exactly how much power the game wants you to use, these are mind-numbingly easy. You memorize the trivia challenges really quickly. The "trust" challenges involve giving orders to a teammate. As long as you choose someone who likes you, these are also too easy.

The mouse shooting gallery challenges are really hard. No matter how well you do, the game will say that your competitors did better. I think what they do is wait and see what score you get, then add a couple of points to that and say that that's your opponent's score.

What I hate about the shooting challenges is that even if you're in team play, it's an individual event. The game tells you, "You'll represent your team for this challenge." The heck? When has one person ever represented the whole team on the show? The shooting game is definitely recycled from something else.

One last thing I'll mention: the create a character feature. I was hoping I'd be able to adjust body size and type and maybe add a scanned picture of my face for a personalized Survivor. But no. You just get 10 pre-designed character models that you can rename and adjust the stats for. Horrible.

DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. I'm a rabid Survivor fan, and I'm just glad I kept the receipt.

This is horrid!!!

I bought this game about a month ago and, several video cards later, I still can't get this game to work. No wonder it only cost [price]. I love "Survivor", the TV show, but this game is useless. Most people can't get it to run; and those that do find it locking up all the time. And by the sounds of things, even when it runs the game is stupid, repetitive, and the AI is a joke. Worst game ever....and that's me being polite.

This is the buggiest computer game I have ever used: nothing works. I loaded this program and have never been able to get it to work properly. It locks-up my computer everytime the game is played. I have had to download several other programs in an attempt to get Survivor working and to date nothing has done the trick. Approximately 8 hours of my time has been spent trying to get this program working for my nine year old son and it has been a miserable experience. In fact, writing this review to warn others of the pitfalls of this program has been my only satisfaction to date. I would not recommend this program to anyone. Don't buy it. I would have rated it with zero stars, but the star scale doesn't go that low.

The Developers of "Survivor" Never Graduated Pre-school

"Survivor: The Interactive Game" is possibly the worst piece of programming ever created. The graphics are terrible, with extremely dull, bland textures. The repetitive, annoying, sounds in "Survivor" are so terrible that they will shatter your eardrums. The "gameplay"...there really isn't gameplay. You spend most of the time watching your character do badly animated things, and when you actually play a minigame, the control is so bad you probably won't realize you are actually playing. You can also do things like develop relationships through conversation with other "survivors." But ALL of these conversations include the computer giving you random responses and contradicting themselves every 2 seconds. The only positive of this game is a bug that makes it crash and send you to the desktop. Bottom line, if you are a masochist, then "Survivor: The 'Interactive Game'" is for you, otherwise, avoid it at all costs.

My husband bought me this game because i love survivor. The darn thing won't run at all on the computer no matter what you do. In the end, i threw it in the garbage, where it seemed to belong. Don't waste your money on this!

Even a die-hard survivor fan will hate this game!!

I can't emphasize that enough-EVEN A DIEHARD SURVIVOR FAN WILL NOT ENJOY THIS GAME! I was severely disappointed. Loving Survivor, I expected the game to involve more strategy and conversation. This game could've been a best seller, but Wizard Works blew it.

First of all, the game is poorly put together. After about 5 hours of gameplay--4 of those 5 hours in which I was bored, the game broke. I have a new computer Windows 2000 and I was really mad that I spent [money] on this game and it broke within a few days. It wouldn't load the game up. Now I'm going to give you my reasons for buying and not buying this game. Poor Graphics. The Conversations with other teamates are bland and the other computer-played characters respond with the same strange responses over and over. It is IMPOSSIBLE to hold an understandible coversation with them! The Voting system is hard to understand. The reward/immunity challenges are always the same bland, old thing. If you win a reward challenge, the reward is the same. Voting out another person and winning is fun for about--an hour.

To conclude, this game turned to be nothing to talk about.

Coming from a simulation game LOVER and one who has a fascination with Survivor, don't get this game.
