Most games come along with another installment and there are minor improvements. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 successfully attempts a major overhaul from the previous while maintaining the same great feel and fluid controls while increasing the amount of polygons per character and adding variety to a variety packed game. THPS2 is the best skateboarding game ever, adding the the character animations, including the realistic and utterly painful "rail nutter," not to mention the classic "topple" and "slip out." With a wide array of grabs, grinds, kicks, transfers, special stomps, extentions, and signiture moves, its no surprise that THPS2 comes out on top. On top of all of this innovation comes the ability to put your imagination with wood, rails, and fashion to the ultimate test as you are blessed with the ability to create your own skater and a skate park that may or may not represent what type of skater that person is. If you are into aggressive sports, there should be no doubt in your mind that this game is not for you on any of the three platforms that its availible for. But it, love it, and cherish this educational marvel. Do and do it well because this is the best boarding game of all time. For now, download the demo and attemp to beat this record: High score-425026 15 combo-207194

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2

Ever since I first played the first Tony Hawk's Pro Skater (at a friends house) I have wanted a skateboarding video game. I didn't have a PlayStation, and Activision never came out with a version for PC. So for about a year now I have looked and waited for a skateboarding game for PC. About a month ago I learned that Activision was creating a new skateboarding game called: Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2, and it was being created for PC. I knew that it would be good based on how fun the first Tony Hawk's Pro Skater was, but I never thought that it would be this good. The graphics are awsome, and the new options are spectacular. If you like sports games expecially skateboarding and snowboarding games then you have to get this new game!

Review of Computer Version of Tony Hawk 2

Let me first say that Tony Hawk 1 and 2 are groundbreaking games. After reading the other reviews, it's apparent that others are in agreement. The best update from the original game is the level editor. You can even upload and download levels from the internet now. The ability to "manual" in between grinds is probably the 2nd most relevant update from Tony Hawk 1. It allows the skater to extend their lines (series of tricks), in almost infinite ways. The computer version also offers several levels from Tony Hawk 1; not the best ones though as School 1 is omitted. In comparison with the PlayStation version, the PC Tony Hawk is far superior. I'd say I get twice the frame rate as on the PS version. Also there is much less fogging of the background. Another note is that the PC version offers me a much higher capacity than the PS version to design levels, which is invaluable when implimenting risers and blue moves. Overall- I highly recommend Tony Hawk 2, especially the PC or Dreamcast versions. Also be sure to have a controller/joystick, which is essential.

Activision does it again.

This time with a follow up to the popular Tony Hawk's Pro boarder 2. I've only played the demo, but it seems that the people at Neversoft were sucsessful on improving the game while maintaining the original games mystique and feel. some impovements are new moves(plus the origal moves),new territories, and a skate park editor(whitch I'm really looking forward to!). It seems (so far, anyhow)to be a solid game and I recomend that people should dowload the demo and check it out! peace C.V. Joint

When I first got this game, I thought it would be really fun. I was wrong. IT IS TOTALLY AWESOME! The tricks and levels are totally cool. Believe me. You really should get this game. Tony Hawk can even do a 900 ollie! You can create characters too. You can also create levels. The graphics are very good. Trust me. This is the ultimate game!!

I first played Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 at my friend's house and I loved it. In fact, I went out and bought it the next day. It is such a cool game. The controlls aren't hard to use, there are awesome graphics and neat levels. There is also a hilarious "Bails" video you can watch, with tons of skaters wiping out. In one, a guy is grinding down a pole and he slips, falls on the pole crotch first and we see the pole shake. You have gotta buy this game. Worth every penny.

If you buy this game you will never get any work done ever again ever. I am probably going to fail one of my courses this year because I've been playing this too much.

The soundtrack is just the best ever as well...

Game doesn't work, locks up computer, needs patch!

Do not buy the full version of this game until Activision puts out a patch to make it work. My computer locks up in the menu window of THPS2 (the circular menu that rotates). Can't escape, can't CTRL-ALT-DEL, can't use the Windows button, nothing. I have to re-start my computer. I uninstalled the demo and retail game and reinstalled the retail game, same thing happens every time. Reinstalled game 3 more times, still happens. Game does not work. My computer exceeds all minimum specs and has the latest drivers for everything. The DEMO has a couple of minor bugs, but otherwise works great and is a lot of fun. Just play the demo until Activision puts out a patch to make the full version work. I e-mailed Activision and am awaiting a reply. I can't believe Activision delayed the release by a month and it still doesn't work!
