not the best, but worth spending some time for it

Awful AI, save and load problems, game interface is sometimes useless. I had expected much better from a Masquerade adaptation. The only positives are graphics and sounds, but not enough to save a boring game. Keep playing the pen and paper, and unless you are a world of darkness fanatic, spend your money for a better game!

Disturbing, Dark and terrible language

You know a game is "bad" when your teenage son voluntarily removes it from the computer and describes it as "disturbing and dark". If video games were "returnable", this one would definitely be returned. My son said the game was not very much fun and that it was a "sad failure of a game".

I'm obsessed with Vampires

This game totally rocks! But it's a little hard unless you know the cheats, and sometimes can be a little slow to load. The Graphics are absolutely amazing, and the narratives are really helpful to the game. Overall, I give it a 4, only because I liked it better when I used to play it online. :)

Vampire: The Masquerade-Redemption?

This is an excellent RPG. I played it for over 10 hours non-stop! It isn't a simple or easy game to win, which makes it more interesting to play. (I don't know how many times I got beat on each level before figuring a stategy that worked, but it was a lot! But don't let this discourage you!) I just don't understand why it's called "Redemption." (I never became Human again.) Also there is an area I could not gain access to. There is a locked door called "The Bowels of Vukodlock's Lair." I could never figure out how to unlock this door. (Maybe that's why I was never redeemed.) Excellent Graphics, Action, Etc. A Very good game!

save problems, but the not the norm

Apparently I'm the only one to have had this problem:

After I saved, when I'd load the game, or when I'd start a new game, all the enemies I had killed up (as up to the farthest point I'd played to) were gone. Yes, even when I tried to start a new game, and watch all those freaking scenes again, the enemies would still be gone. Eventually I went into the file system and by deleting certain data files (the ones the system registered as updated at the time of my saving the game), I managed to make the enemies reappear. By that time, however, I was already way too annoyed to play it anymore. Then again, I seem to be the only person with this problem. Sigh.

This is 1 of those rare games that is fun....but at the same time it [isn't good]...I myself, do not have this game but a friend of mine does and he plays it 24/7....i cant realy find anything i like in it accept finding downloads off websites...then playing with the new downloads for about 5 miniuts....then turning the game off....however muti-player is a blast and is probly the coolest part of the game...1 player is ok...you start out as a crusaider type dude in medevil ages....get bitten by a vampire...then all the sudden your in modern times. (which is kinda cool cause u can have midevil weapons and modern weapons) Another cool part in this game is all the different weapons you can get...Swords,Axes,Maces,Baseball bats,Shotguns,Machine guns,Chaninsaws, and just about any other weapon you can think of... Over all this game will keep you busy for about 2 weeks be4 it starts collecting dust next to "Age of Empires" and "The Sims"

Warning ALL MAC users

I waited a long time for the release of this game to Mac platform. Unfortunetly for me I could have waited forever and not had the damage caused by this game.
It not only destroyed my hard drive, the game was not worth the price I had to pay to fix the damage caused by the game.
I took my machine to a licensed Macintosh dealer to have it repaired, the main cause of the damage was this game according to MAC.
Save yourself the trouble, wait for company to fix whatever causes the hard drive to crash and burn.

Very good idea, bad execution.

Vampire could easily have made Game of the Year. It had it all: The best graphics for its time, excellent premise, music, and revolutionary multiplayer concept. The things that bring it down, though, are its missing in-game save feature (which is now only available through download), repetitive combat, and over-acting dialouge. Here is your basic "level" in Vampire:

A:)Get orders to eliminate area 1 of demons and retrieve item "X". B:)Go through 4 levels of a dungeoun hacking and slashing demons. C:)Retrieve item. D:)Bring item back, go through overly-lenghty dialougue. Repeat all steps again. What keeps this product from failing is the story. It is an excellent, if cliched, story. You are a warrior for God, Christoph Romuald, on a crusade against evil. When wounded, a nun in Prague takes you in and heals you. You then begin to fall in love with her. Vampire Clan Leader Ecatirina The Wise makes you a vampire because of abilities. Another story evolves, about the "War of the Clans." Some are Vampire, some are not. You must defeat the enemy clans while also finding you love, Anezka. I find that story very good. It is also coupled with some of the best graphics seen in a game. The architecture is wonderful and the lighting is first-rate. The idea of traveling through time is also executed better here than Daikatana. You first go through medievil Prague and Vienna, sleep 800 years, wake up in CyberPunk New-York and also go to futuristic London. The one thing that bothers me about this is he still talks "medievil" in the Future. All in all, I only recommend this for serious RPG fans that can stand repetitive combat, downloading a patch for the in-game save, and can also stand over-acting dialogue.

Vampire the The Masquerade Redemption is a stuning graphical and musical representation of a dark world. The story and character creation is fun to do because of the different magical blood powers you can develop over time. I like the game better in the old world than the new world because I prefer the sword fighting to any modern wepon I have found. The story line is linear and as much as I have tried most of the plot points are unchangeable; however, the sound and graphics alone are reason enough to buy the game. Plus Vampires and the gothic world of dark depravity are a blast to explore. This game is a game I would buy again, so I would recommend it to any gamer who enjoys dark story lines, interesting music, and appreciates great animated gaming.
