I love this game!

I am six and this game is awesome. My five-year-old brother loves the game too. I help him a lot. I love this game because it's so cool and magical. I just wish I could be Harry Potter and my friends could be Ron Weasley. It never freezes on me. We are running System X.

BETTER THAN BEFORE

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is a great game.
You start out by the Womping Willow and you have to save Ron.That part's easy. But the challenges are a lot harder.
There are "fire crabs"who shoot flames at you, and the fire snails chase you when they see you, and revive quickly after you put Ricktusempra on them.
Fred and George set up a bean trading system so you can buy Nimbus 2001's, and other really cool stuff!
If you have floberworm mucus and wiggentree bark, when you walk up to a cauldron, you get a potion that gives you full health when you press the space bar!!
When you get 10 bronze wizard cards, you get another health bar!!
This is definitely better than the first game.

Worked well for us under OSX

We bought HPCoS with some trepidation over the problems people had with buggy software. I didn't even try to run it under OS9, but under OSX 10.2 we had no particular problems. Running on a G3/300 and a G5/2000 both worked well, though the G3 was pretty darn painful. The voices ran faster than the animation because the Rage 128 card wasn't up to the task. My 5 year old loved it and even managed to do most of it on his own (minus some of the scarier parts).

Good fun with a glitch

The game is great...if you can get it to play. Running the game with OS 9.2.2 their is a glitch that the manufacture (Aspyr) has yet to make a fix for. They say a patch is coming but for the mean time you can only play up through Prof. Flitwick's challange. That aside this game seems much more elaborate and better developed than the first one.

The Chamber is Still a Secret!!!

Don't buy this game. The parts that work are fun, but there are so many hang ups, freezes, and blank screens that the fun quickly becomes pure frustration. Not too far into the game, you simply cannot proceed. Aspyr informed me that they were aware of the problems and were working on fixes. They also said this was "mostly" a problem with OS 9 users.

Mac OS 9 Users Beware

My five year old son and I played "Sorcerer's Stone" together and loved it. I ordered "Chamber of Secrets" despite the posted comments about its "bugginess". Once we loaded it and gave it plenty of memory the game ran perfectly until...I estimate about a third of the way through, as we shifted from one "challenge trial" to another, the screen went irrevocably black, which in effect ended the game. I called Aspyr and the tech knew just what had happened as all players who are running OS 9 experience this. He told me that they are working on a patch for this problem but he doesn't know when it will be available. We'll probably wait for the patch as we loved the first third (some real improvements over "Sorcerer's Stone). Hadn't even gotten to the first Quidditch match.

BUGGY BUGGY BUGGY

I am running OS X (10.2.6) and the program is incredibly buggy. Very frustrating for adults, but a total deal-breaker for kids! There are problems saving and problems crashing. We had problems with the last Potter game, too, but subsequent patches from Aspyr and the use of cheat codes to jump levels (to avoid game freezes) saved the day. There are no patches from Aspyr yet for Chamber of Secrets and I am not inclined to go through the painful rigamarole of helping them fix a program which feels like it is barely out of the beta stage of development. AVOID.

Don't Buy This!!!!!

Don't waste your money on this game!!! All it does is freeze up. It is slow and full of bugs. What a waste of money and time. They say there is a patch -- but won't say when. This game should never have been released to the public.

Too many computer crashes and memory problems

I am using my iMac G3 (about 4 yrs old and using about a gig of memory to get enough memory to play this game. Nevertheless, it runs out of memory, specifically after the Skurge Challenge...the screen goes dark after Harry finishes the challenge and exits the room/ you can hear him walking about the castle but he cannot see (nor can I) where he is going. The only way I could get the game to come up again is when I accidentally stumbled Harry back into the Skurge challenge and once into the Rictusempra challenge. I was NEVER able to get to herbology or the spongify challenges at all (although I did manage to get Harry accidentally into the spongify challenge although he had not learned the SPELL yet..... I tried over and over again, trying different memory settings and restarting the game from the beginning. The game is also buggy as all heck. I also wrote to Amazon requesting a replacement which they sent in 1 day. the replacement was equally bad, so I simply gave up and bought a copy written for the PC and happily played the game on an IBM PC (worked perfectly). I do not know if this is my computer's fault or the game's fault, but I am now very leery of purchasing any games for the Mac at this time.

Very disappointing

Game had problems playing on OS9. "Customer support" states theres a "glitch". Invested in OSX, game continues to freeze. No patches or fixes available.
