LotR Game Rocks, But Lacks

While I like the idea of a game adapted on the books rather than the movies, this one lacks something greatly. I can't believe the developers would release a game about the FELLOWSHIP, something dealing with multiple people, and there is NO multiplayer. WHY?! Oh well, I guess. Developers will keep going on making bonehead decisions like that. Anyway, the game, while being only ONE PLAYER..., is good. The way everything looks seems true to what I had read in the books, down to hurting my eyes after looking at it too long. It's fun to play, but really lacks somewhere. Hmm.....

"The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring" video game for the Microsoft XBox is excellent! The graphics, sound, game play, and storyline are all great. I will not tell you what this game is about because you, and a lot of other people, have probably read "The Lord of the Rings" book trilogy, which this game is based on, or seen the movie trilogy, which this game is not based on. All I will say is that you can play as three characters from the book trilogy. And those characters are: Frodo the hobbit, Aragorn the ranger, and Gandalf the wizard. There are many fantasy characters brought to life from the book trilogy onto this game such as: trolls, orcs, huge spiders, barrow wights, ring-wraiths; the watcher in the water, the balrog demon, elves, dwarves, wizards, and hobbits. There is a lot of fighting with enemies in this great game also. And there is a lot of action, adventure, fantasy, and fun in it. The only two things I don't like about this game are that it has to load a lot and that it has a few bugs (glitches) in it. But luckily the bugs (glitches) were very few and they were not much of a problem. The loading in this game can be between ten to twenty seconds long (that's not good for a person who is impatient). Otherwise this is a great game which I highly recommend you buy. "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring" video game for the Microsoft Xbox something that opens the land called Middle-earth into the world of video gaming. If you are a huge "Lord of the Rings" book trilogy and (or) movie fan like me then you should buy and like this video game.

Just too slow

For this game you need more pateince than anyone in this world has.you will spend hours at a time trying to find your friends in the forest or collecting water lillies, while being atacked by 1 of the 3 enemies in the game .this is much like the book where the characters will spend 90 percent of the time just walking from 1 place to another.I played this for 5 hours and then took this game back because it was driving me to the brink of insanity.

Worse game I ever played on an XBOX

I love RPGs. I mean I "really really really" love them. But this one was a big dissapointment. The game kept on freezing, the loading time was ridiculous and the items you picked up were mostly unusable by the characters who picked them up! The story line was okay, but this game was way too easy. I actually finished this one over two weekends. What a waste of money! Anyway, this game is definitely for "kids", mature players beware!

more for early teens than adults

this is a very short viseo game that goes along, mostly, with the first movie in the lord of the rings trilogy.it has its charms at first but quickly disintegrates into a repetitive mess of overthinking and puzzles.kind of like a turok game only better with the switches and more like hexen with all the puzzles.it does not follow the movie 100% so dont go there looking for answers.theres web sites for all that.my biggest gripe is the entire time youre teensy frodo or the old wizard dude or strider.the dwarf and elf who are really cool too are left up to the computer to control.but you know cpu help.always lacking.youre little halfling companions are of little help being as how they are little and pathetic.that ones utterly uselesss as all he talks about is food.then theres frodo the weak who cant use his ring much at all or he'll die.best just to get the cheat codes.i had a lot of trouble with the frodo missions because hes sich a little wimp.even bees pick on him and spiders.strider the ranger is cool.he can fight well and makes use of arrows well.theres an sniper mode for that thank god!then there is the old wizard dude who can fight suprisingly well with his 2 weopons.he can also employ magic.take my advice cheat on this part.get the code for infinite spirit and just go to town on all evil doers!but no elf with his awesome archery skills or dwarven bezerker, which sucks.however, theyre in the second one.lastly one major pain in the butt is the fact that all the characters walk like theyre on stilts-really really slow and careful.you can get them to speed up but you must wiggle youre stick back and forth and make them zig zag everywhere.whoo!iys really easy but for the puzzles which their are easy to follow explanations for online so i say save youre money and rent it.if youve got a kid who really really wants it i say why the f!@k are you letting your kids watch this for anyway?

I admit that I haven't gotten very far in this game. The reason is that I don't like to play this game. When I turned it on during the day, It was fun when I was helping the hobbitt village people with the little tasks they needed, but then night fall came and I couldn't see jack. So I thought I would put the game away and play it later that night. My place was black as pitch except for the light coming from the television and I still couldn't see a thing. I'm supposed to be avoiding those black riders, but I couldn't see anything. Somehow I got past that part. Then more helping villagers. That's the best part of this game. I don't remember exactly where I'm at with this game, but I doubt I'll go back.
There are far better games to buy for the XBox than this one. OddWorld, Blood Omen, and Enclave just to name a few. Don't waste your hard earned money on this...

King's Quest Redux

Remember the old King's Quest games on the PC? Beyond the graphics, this is what this game reminded me of. True, the storyline is true to Tolkien and the graphics were great, but the whole mini-quest, running around aspect of the game just left me flat and the dialogue was atrocious and melodramatic. The controls were awkward as well. It could have been much more than it was, but it wasn't. Maybe the movie version game will be alot faster and not so leisurely in its pace. If this had been a computer game, it would have been great, but for an XBox game, you want more action and a quicker pace.

'The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring' is a very fun and strategic RPG game for the Xbox. The graphics, sound, and gameplay are all very good! The plot in 'Fellowship of the Ring' is wonderful and the cut-scenes are great to watch. There is a lot of puzzle solving to do and a lot of enemies to fight in this game. 'The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring' is an awsome video game for the Microsoft Xbox which I highly recommend you buy!

How can you crew up The Lord of the Rings?

This game is all jacked up. First off the tedious side quests are nothing but annoying. Goofy little run and go get this, then thats not good enough so now you have to go get some other stupid little trinket, ruining the whole feal of playing a grand epic such as this. The conversations are lame, trying to follow verbatim the movie, but cutting important character responses/comments, which leaves an odd sort of hole where you feal something should/needs to be. I couldn't play more than an hour into the game. Maybe it gets better...but I couldn't stand it any longer.

Boring

This game is very boring. There are loading screens that come up all the time that get your attention away from what you are doing. Overall, This game is obviously a mistake that has a name people will want to buy. My advice, get The Two Towers instead.
