Mirkwood REALLY STINKS! When you get past these armed skeleton type people, you have to defeat the Wight Lord. Also, my sister doesn't think you need to listen to Ugslap on Swordlight, but you HAVE to. Please respond how to get past the Wight Lord. My email address is : cats_tacosrock@yahoo.com

Thank You

I wasn't quite sure what to expect when I purchased "The Hobbit" - especially since the price is so low - but I have to say that this game has become one of my all-time favorites, and I plan to play it again & again!

In "The Hobbit", you play the character of Bilbo Baggins - a "lowly" hobbit from The Shire who has been chosen to accompany the dwarves in their quest to reclaim their treasure from the dragon Smaug. This quest will take you to many different lands - each with its' own creatures to deal with & treasure chests to find.

There are a total of 11 chapters in this game, & during each one you'll want to be sure to complete all of the tasks, collect all of the courage points, & find all of the treasure chests - as the courage points add up to extra health bubbles & you'll be able to purchase things like health potion, antidote, rocks & such from the treasure you find (but only at the end of each chapter).

Overall, I found this game to extremely well made & fun!!! The animations are wonderful & the voice-overs are perfect (which is rare to find in computer games these days). There were only 2 "downfalls" - first, although you're able to view the controls for various movements for the computer (this game was originally not a computer game), when you find upgrades along the way the buttons it says to push don't work for the computer - so you have to play around a bit until you find the right ones (I hope that makes sense). Second, it's really difficult to find everything without a walkthrough (although it isn't necessary to find everything in order to finish the game).

The walkthrough I used (and I think it may be the only one out there) is at gamfaqs - you can just go to their website to access this walkthrough - and I have to say, it's one of the best walkthroughs I've ever read (and the author actually returns emails if you get really stuck).

I would highly recommend The Hobbit to anyone who enjoys "adventure" games like Zelda & Fate. It's truly a great game - in fact, I'm hoping they make a part II real soon!

P.S. If anyone knows of other computer games like this please let me know by leaving a comment for this review - thanks!

This is a very fun, entertaining game. It's great for those who love the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, but also those who haven't read any of the books.

If you are a fan of the Book you will enjoy this game. I am new to the whole gamer phenom and I am sure there are way more advanced games on the market but I am enjoying graphics and the over all storyline mirrors the book very well.

This little game is a whole lot of fun!

I was a little skeptical when i saw the game's cartoony graphics but the gameplay really makes up for it, but the more i played the game though the more i liked the graphics. They remind me of playstation 2 graphics if not a little better. There are times when the camera angles are placed at the wrong angle but this is excusable. The voices are done very well and the music and sound are all good but not remarkable. I found this game much more enjoyable than all of the other lord of the rings games and i have played them all besides the few RTS(real time strategy) ones. There are times when this game is definitely frustrating but when these areas are overcome they are much more rewarding. This game was pretty long but nothing that will keep u entertained for weeks if your an avid game player like myself.I would recommend this game for people of any age as it is not too childish.

Keeps me at the edge of my seat!

The Hobbit for the pc is the best adventure game I have ever played. It is not to easy. there are around 13 levels that each take more than a hour to complete. Very intresting story.

Coolest Game Ever!!!

This game rocks! The graphics are great, the levels are challenging, and it isn't gory. Another thing is that you need to use your head not just quick fingers. this game is worth all that money.

If you gave Mario a sword and a ring....

Have you ever wished for a decent Lord of the Rings platformer? A nice, long, but not tedious trek through the wilds of Middle-Earth? Do not worry, there is one! A slightly odd platformer named the Hobbit fits the description perfectly. Very fun, with happy, light-hearted graphics, witty dialogue, and engrossing gameplay. A good buy!

Great Game!

This game was really very good! Some people say that the graphics were not great, but everything was fine exept the expression in the elves faces. Pretty easy to control, and it was very entertaining the whole way through. Not at all gory or bloody, because the charaters go up in a burst of light when you defeat them. You can win lives by winning little diamond shaped points in different colors, called courage points, which you can find everywhere, and you can get back lost lives through blue healing mushrooms. The music was fantastic, and the game has won 5 awards. It stuck very well to the book, and some people complain about trouble with saving pedestals (namely that you can't save whenever you want to), but I thought that was fine. At some points, the story flows to a movie you can watch, so you don't have to fight in large battles, and occasionally the game goes to a 'book version', where you see pages turn, sort of like in shrek. Anyway, great game, amazing music, loads of fun... I reccomend this to anyone ages 7 and up!
