Good on the console, doesn't compare to the PC game!

Call of Duty Finest Hour brings nothing new to the FPS genre but sheds new light on WWII. The campaigns in this game are not usually seen in movies or games. As a Russian female sniper, you'll move through the sewers of Stalingrad and upon your arrival to the surface, will defend a warehouse containing the T34 tank you will later escape on. As an African tank Sargent you will through Bastogne against all sorts of armor.

A great game for WW2 buffs

This game is better than MOH by a long shot!! The game begins during the Battle for Stalingrad. That battle is amazing and realistic. You also fight on the western front and Africa. The missions are actually useful. However your team mates tend to be idiotic. The weapons, sound, and graphics are great.

P.S. Rent this game before you buy it

I have had this game for almost 6 months and after beating the game in every aspect..it is awesome!!! One of my favorite parts about the game is there are almost always at least 2 ways to beat a level. For example on the last British campain level your Sargent tells you to go left to take out some machine guns, but you can go the other way leading to a much easier way to beat the level!! Another huge pro would be the Russian tank levels, they are one of the most fun parts of the game!!!

Unfortunatley after you beat the game (and get cheats) and then play it a billion times you start to become invinsible. Let's say you want to do the last American level and you have the cheat "Dead Eye" on you can get through it with little or no trouble. Luckily when that starts happening you can change to the more challenging Difficult mode, and go through levels different ways for a great replay value.

Lastly if feels as if you really are in WW 2, from the sound of rapid fire machine guns to the steam coming off of bomb shelled water, it is so realistic. When you beat the last level you feel as if you actually were part of defeating the Nazis.

Save your med kits for yourself only

Really fun game overall. I'm a big sniping fan, so I get excited when I can use that option to my advantage. Unfortunately though, seems it was used just a couple times in the first couple levels. There is a lot here that I haven't experienced in a WWII FPS...shooting down planes, operating tanks, using a variety of guns not previously used in a combat game, etc...My BIGGEST complaint though, is the comrade simulation. My guys can stand in front of a German, shoot him multiple times, yet the German doesn't die, and ends up wacking my guy. Many a time my comrades are fleeced from me and I don't even notice. They are weak and seem to be filler material, or to give the impression of a squad unit. That's why you need to keep all you med kits for yourself unless the objective is to protect a certain comrade to point B through a highly overwhelming gun fight. It's a keeper of a game, not perfect, but fun for what it is.

I definitely recommend COD:Big Red One over this one.

One of the best WWII FPSs.

I am a huge WWII videogame fan. I own Medal of Honor Frontline, Rising Sun, Allied Assault, European Assault, and Heroes. I also own this game and might buy Call of Duty Roads to Victory,3, and 2. I was seriously surprised when I played CoD Finest Hour. Starting off, it only uses about 60 KB of memory card space. The unique thing about Call of Duty is that you get to be put into several soldiers shoes, which you don't experience in MoH. The storyline is great, not containing any trace of cheesiness, and takes place in Russia, North Africa, and the Battle of the Bulge. The graphics are top notch, making it feel more realistic. The guns look very similar to their real-life counterparts and sound realistic as well. Some features that help gameplay are realistic shellshock, gun ironsights, very fun multiplayer, and the ability to drive tanks. Overall, I give this 5 stars and seriously recommend that you own it. It will bring enjoyment every time you play and will never get old.

Realistic WWII game. A+
