Nothing new, nothing fun

I tried the game, but there's just nothing new here. It's the same old same old and not really as entertaining as games I've played for months or years. It has a lot of technical issues and lag as well.

Really save your money.

Since of alot of this is NDA, meaning it cant be discussed. The game is ok. Decent graphics, sorry it isnt EQ2 standards of graphics. Graphics dont make the game. I will be beta testing EQ2, hopefuly they will fix the problems with EQ1.

If you want a game that is very craft base then maybe it is for you. If you want to have crafters make all of your items, then this game is the one you need. We don't need another average online RPG.

I can't say much becuase of the NDA. It has promise but it will die a somewhat slow death. Their are many better games coming out and old ones better too.

I suggest you wait awhile and see if this game pans out.

THIS COULD EASILY BE THE GREATEST MMORPG YET!

This game has just about everything all the MMORPG of the past does (housing, guilds, cool quest, spells and items) and so much more! It has a slick school system, that allows you to do everything from be the strongest paladin ever to owning your own store or being a politician plus this game lets you PLAY AS FLYING DRAGONS!!! It also has a great cinematic battle system, a multiple layer character engine with millions of customization options, a cool living vs. the undead story it's even being designed for cell phone support! So this Fall, don't fall for the hype of those pretty Sony Station games with little to no innovation namely games like Everquest 2, get the true next gen MMORPG, Horizons!!! The company behind this gem has been developing THIS GAME ALONE for FOUR YEARS!!!

Great Game

People always seem to make the mistake of comparing new MMO's
to games that have been out for years. No game out is without faults. So if you have read any negative about the game, don't
let that stop you. I have been in beta since August, and I
find it great fun, it has some minor problems to work out, but
overall the game is very stable and has huge potential.

WARNING: This game is a RIP-OFF

After you buy the game, you MUST purchase a separate license to play on-line - or you simply can't play the game. That's BS, in my opinion. Basically, if you spend the $50 odd dollars on the game but elect not to give your credit card number to purchase the right to play on line, you end up with a useless, $50, piece of plastic (i.e., the CD itself). It's worthless.

It also made me real nervous that the game connected to it's own server right after I installed it and my firewall software (Norton's) didn't detect it as an unknown program trying to access the Internet. This is bad news. I have never known my firewall to miss a program before, which leads me to believe this software somehow 'spoofs' the firewall into believing it's trusted software. Needless to say, it's not trusted by me, and I uninstalled it immediately. I can only hope it didn't install some nefarious spy-ware program on my system that's still on there.

Buy this game if you don't mind having to continually pay for the right to play it - and if you don't mind spending beaucoup $ up front. Don't buy this game if you have a brain and value your privacy on-line.

Actually a decent game.

I was pleasantly surprised when I bought horizons, since there is no pvp there are very few "l33t d00dz". Crafting is excellent, and you can actually (gasp) multiclass in this game.
I have played SWG, and this game is superior in nearly every respect.
Horizons actually has quests and other content. SWG was one gigantic grind.

Good Game; Needs Some Work

I've played Horizons for about a month and found it to be quite promising. I would agree that the game was released early, but there haven't been any major bugs to interfere with my gamplay.

The non-dragon classes seem to need a bit of work to help distinguish them further, but there's a lot of variation that will be nice down the road. There are a lot of classes to pick from in both crafting and adventuring.

Dragons recently became a lot better since they can now become adults and fly and other promised things. They have a nice selection of quests and can be quite fun.

The biggest issue I have with the game is the barren landscape, but it's been getting better. They seem to be adding more content as bugs are being squashed.

It's well worth a try if you like to craft, but it may not be as enjoyable if you prefer to adventure only as the landscape is still a bit barren and many of the quests are repetitive.

This game sucks

Played early beta, was fun. Then they opened it up, too many people. Too much lag. This game STILL (1/19) sucks, save your money for World Of Warcraft.

It's new, and a lot of fun

PROS:
- Ton of fun
- Game has attracted great people
- Graphics are pretty neat, especially the coast line or the night time sky. I like moving clouds.
- Good crafting and adventuring system.
- Dragons
- More Unlockable player races
- Dynamic world that changes depending on how the players play

CONS:
- Laggy when there are a lot of people and actions, especially in the City of Tazoon.
- Graphics done with DX8, instead of DX9 so I'm having issues with my ATI card.
- I'm not thrilled that I need to use Internet Explorer to gain access to the game.
- There are some people who have no life and are already really high level because they do nothing but... hey, doesn't that say something for the game?

Sigh...

The funfactor in this game is low and I think I can put my finger as why and let me be clear this just my opinion so Im not trying to be the be all, say all about this. Crafting is fun for the first two or three weeks but now Im starting to get really bored and tired of doing the same quest over and over again for such a small amount of experience. Also they punish you if you find a quest that you can do quickly and easily which really ticked me off. I dont know if any other MMORPG does that. If you try to do one quest over and over again to get somewhere faster they divide the experience you gain for that quest by half. Combat is boring also if you're trying to solo so I highly recommend finding a good guild to hang out with if you wanna have any fun doing that. Finally, I haven't seen any real change in the world other then some players putting up buildings and nerfing so the excitement isn't there. I haven't seen any holiday events either. These are the other problems it still seems to have as well: lag (I think it's getting a little better now actually), lack of customer service (...), lack of open conversion in the community. As for the graphics I think the developers wanted a sorta cartoonish look and in that measure the game looks good but they are definitely much better looking MMORPGs coming soon. The colors are vibrant, and the environments are well-designed though I suppose the geometry of both the environments and the models could be a little better. The music is still amazing and I also still think this game has one of the best class system. The class system hands down is nearly flawless. Now I guess it would be better to wait for something else like maybe Saga of Ryzom or World of Warcraft (which I must admit is the safest bet as far as polish and execution this generation).
