Unleashed...Only there were some small problems

I bought Unleashed as only a step up to buying Makin' Magic, so I didn't really have any expectations of it to start off with. I wish Aspyr and Electronic Arts could make a game that didn't contain some small problem that annoys the heck out of me. With Unleashed it was the inability to adopt a pet from Old Town after the first time and have the pet trainer train it. Fortunately this is fixable with a patch from Aspyr, but unfortunately when I reinstalled it I forgot to download the patch before I installed Makin' Magic. Luckily I remembered that one of the websites I used to frequent before it became a pay site (http://www.simslice.com) had something that could sort of fix my problem.

My only words of advice are: After installing any of the Sims games search on the one of the main Sims websites, Aspyr, to see if there is an update or patch.

I bought this game for my sister, who has a mac. She has had so much fun that I am very glad she has it. I have all the Sims and I would recommend all of them to anyone. Everyone should get this game so they can have fun with pets!

I've been wanting sims unleashed for like, ever. Finally, I had a enough money to buy it. It's really awesome having pets, on two occasions my sim-pets had puppies. It stinks that you can't control your pets actions though. All you can do is watch them. I like all the new objects (pet bath, dog bed, ect.) In old town, it is always sooooo slow. It's a bit screwed up. Anway, overall this is a fun game. I recomend it.

P.S. I can't wait for sims 2!!!!

Feeling great when Unleashed was "unleashed" in stores

When I first got The Sims Unleashed, I couldn't wait to see what it was like. I loved it and right now, at this moment, I am creating houses and huge mansions with the style of a real house. Will Wright has once again made a hugely entertaining Sims expansion. And the best thing about this game is that it never ends; so you will never be saying that you won the game. I'll treasure The Sims Unleashed along with every other expansion-along with the regular Sims game. I can't wait to see what brilliant idea pops up in Maxis's head next!

REALLY COOL

I love this game every time i get a chance I get on the computer and play it but it has two bad parts about it 1)you have to wait until every memeber of the house gets back from either work or school and 2) you can't control the pets at all but u can get them to move. I would of gave this game a 4.2 but that doesn't exist on Amazon so I gave it a 5

Overall, I love this expansion pack. It has excellent features, like gardening, and ya, the pets are really nice too. In fact, if you feel so inclined, you can become a fully self-sufficient dog/cat breeder. The possibilites are endless. I love the Old Town bit as well, although the new NPC, "W.C. Friendly" borders on becoming "W.C. Stalker" because he follows you EVERYWHERE, like an annoying, saxaphone-playing big brother. Also, whenever you go to the petshop, there is a Pet Trainer there. In theory, you're supposed to be able to take your dog or cat there ANY TIME to pay for training sessions. However, there is a flaw. Every time I have tried it, I've only been able to purchase training sessions during the single outting to Old Town wherein I purchase my new cat or dog. It seems that the Pet Trainer is rendered useless after the original venture.

But I wouldn't let that detract from your decision too much. Overall, the expansion pack is well worth the money and I love the new furniture, which coincides with the 1920's jazzy feel of Old Town. It's worth your time and your money, in my opinion.

No pooper-scooper needed.

As an obssessed SiMS fan, I was not let down at all by this expansion. Besides providing the obvious option of adding pets to your SiM family, The SiMS UNLEASHED also adds new heads, clothes, furniture, and building options. In addition, an entire new town layout is included. Now, instead of one 10-lot neighborhood for residents only, the player may build in "Old Town" lots. These community lots give you the option of building (or destroying) shops, pet adoption agencies, cafes, parks, and pretty much any other public lot imaginable (if you use your creativity). To truly make the game cater to you, lots can be switched from community (public) lots to residential lots by simply clicking the re-zoning button.
The new building options include three styles of spiral staircases and many unique fences. New windows, doors, floors, and wallpapers are also beautiful and interesting.
One of my favorite aspects of the SiMS UNLEASHED were the many new clothing styles. The outfits included are finally stylish and some I even wish were real, so that I could wear them.
Many reviewers have complained that the game was slow. I have all of the expansions (except Vacation) that are avaliable for Macs (The SiMS, The SiMS Livin' Large, The SiMS House Party, and The SiMS Hot Date) installed on my computer and I did not find the slowness unbearable or frustrating.
The only problem that I've found in the game is the pet bath basin. It simply does not work. However, the pets function fine a little dirty and at least it's true to life (stinky dogs)!
Overall, I believe this expansion is the best so far (although I am waiting on The SiMS Superstar). Why do us Mac users always have to wait? Anyway, if you are going to buy any expansion for you SiMS, I would strongly reccommend The SiMS UNLEASHED!
