Simply a Great Game

I played this with my 7 year old daughter for a few times, and help her every now and then, but for the most part she plays the game by herself. I've turned a few other kids onto it as well, and they all love it. It is just a great idea for a game, how can it not be fun to mix a dragonfly with a gorilla to create a dragonilla? And the game modes really teaches the kids a bit about economics in the sense that there is a cost to everything, and resources should not be wasted etc. I've bought a lot of (mostly crappy) kids games in my time, this one rises way above the rest. The main negative on this one is that it does not support internet play against friends, and it also has some expansion packs that are tricky to install.

Impossible Creatures is a fun game that allows you to create your own animal/creature. I was compelled to buy the game after downloading the demo from Microsoft's website. The game is easy to learn and fun to play. The copy of I received wasn't in a jewel case, but rather a DVD type case. IMPOSSIBLE CREATURES

Just What I'd Been Looking For

The free downloadable "Insect Invasion" expansion pack is a must. You haven't really experienced the full joy of playing Impossible Creatures until you add all of the new animals and abilities that come with Insect Invasion. There are also plenty of maps available from websites like that of "Impossible Creatures Planet", which is also a great place to go for online play.

I was into StarCraft and Command & Conquer before I found this game. I enjoyed the strategic element of real time strategy games, but battles were often far too long. Not so with IC, I can sit down and play a battle against 1 to 5 computer opponents and finish usually within half an hour.

My kids will watch me play games on the computer, so I prefer something like IC that really isn't any more violent than Pokemon. When animal units are killed, they just vanish from the screen.

This game has more of a creative element than probably any other RTS. You design the creatures for your army choosing from over 80 different species (with the expansion pack). It's really fun to mix and match coming up with such odd combinations as a hippopotamus plus a dragonfly, a moose-lobster, or a bombardier beetle with the body mass and face of a sperm whale. If you're like me, you will end up creating multiple armies--each one suited to a particular type of battlefield.

This game actually saves me a lot of money. I have been addicted to IC for six years now, and still never tire of it for any long length of time. I've pretty much lost interest in any other RTS games and have purchased far fewer video games of any sort since discovering Impossible Creatures.

The graphics are no longer top-of-the-line, but like any great game, it's not all about graphics. In my opinion, the graphics are very good and were they much better, chances are it would be hard for your computer to keep up with the action of dozens of units battling on the screen.

There is a great deal of strategy and creativity involved that give this game lasting appeal. The computer is hard enough to beat on expert mode, but you can catch on to computer patterns and learn to exploit them. Taking on human opponents is an altogether different challenge. So, if more than one family member is likely to enjoy this kind of game, and you have two computers in the house, I would recommend picking up two copies. I own several and have sold a few to friends.

The only other games I have ever enjoyed nearly as much or as long are the 2D turn-based Worms games like Worms World Party, and the multiplayer modes of various incarnations of Bomberman.

Firstly, this game is RAD!
It is so AWESOME that you can design your own armies!
The campaign stinks.
It is too hard to beat the THIRD LEVEL!
It also is not very good because you can not get more buildings than in the DEMO!
The other and better animals in the full version give it a big bonus in my thoughts of this awesome strategy game.

Great game, poor support

Well, the game is a lot of fun, hence the reason for the 5/5 on the fun, but the overall score has to be lower because the patches released by the game developer (Relic) for additional content simply don't work. Apart from the annoyance on the patches not installing, the main game is fairly stable, but you cannot enjoy the free "Insect Invasion" expansion back because of the patch update issues. This game is fun and has a lot of potential, but alas it is very much DEAD in the support department.

Wargame with creativity that doesn't stop growing

Not only is this a spectacular game in creativity and strategy, but if you purchase it you can download free online expansions that give you more maps and creatures to choose from. It's not rated Teen for any reason other than the fact that you are fighting with your army. It's not gory or overly violent. I highly recommend it.

amazing 2 good 2 be true graphics and the storyline is sooooo good that it should be a book! u can build thousands of different animals using the "sigma" technalagy. Also the free downloads like "Insect invasion" and the 10 hidden chararecters are a great addon after u used all the 60 ofered animals. In insect invasion u get (exageration) 1,000 new maps and 50 new creatures I recomend you buy it ...

Man, this is one of the coolest RTS games ever made. The creature making process is so original and funny. The singleplayer game is also different from the typical RTS games. And btw this is the first game that uses Direct X 9.0 technology. Buy It today and have a good laugh.

Fun but impossible!

This game is a lot of fun. It doesn't have much reason to be rated Teen. This game takes lots of thinking. It is very fun to battle. I love this game!
