Need no life to play

Everquest is a valiant attempt at an online rpg hypbrid but is far too encompassing for its own good. One must have no life and play constantly to really get the most out of the game and advance. I like the characters and idea but i just cannot get into it, i am looking forward to similar games with what i feel will be better online capabilities and better enjoyment and value. I would recommend Capcom's Monster Hunter or even the obligatory FF but that one has monthly fees whereas Monster Hunter is free.

(...) i am 16 and i dont want to go though that stupid sign up thing. Anyway..... This is a great game but it comes at a price u do have to pay (...) but its well worth it. Be careful of everquest because it is very addictive some ppl play it for days straight. In fact a lot of ppl call it Ever Crack. Its such a fun game dont wry but be contious of what time it is because hours go by like minutes.

there are alot of people playing this and some are mean some are and others take this way too seriously if. some kids will skip school to play. also dont be in rush to beat this cause it takes at leats 6 MO's to get 1 char to lvl 60 and thats if you work, sleep, play and have no life. it is cool to meet people though and all ages play the company tries to edit out bad words from being said but there are ways around it.

Fun game, shady customer support

I cannot believe that someone would give this 5 stars prior to the game being released. Potential customers beware of that fact. He may have been in Beta, but so was I. I would rate this game as a 3 or 4 if it wasn't for the shady customer service. I had prepaid for this service, so I was stuck for six months. Through that time, they had a rampant error, called Error 6. SOE blamed it on the internet and America Online. The funny thing about Error 6 was that it didn't only affect AOL users, it affected broadband users just the same. Ironically, the day Frontiers was released Error 6 disappeared. You decide if that was due to AOL at that point. Now they have a new error, one where it loses your information but won't allow you to re-enter it. As for the gameplay itself, they should call this game Evergrind. The quests are far and Few. Rather, most of your time is spent hacking the very same monster, over and over again to gain levels. Frontiers added 10 new experience levels and a new Epic at level 59. Now to do the Epic, you need to have completed all your level 50 quests. Now here is the kicker, according to Mr. Alex von Minden, the Community Relations Manager, he said that the higher level quests are intended to the hard core gamers. Now this doesn't sound like too much of a problem. That is until you find out that the hard core gamers represent maybe 1% of the community. Nice to pay $30.00 more for content that isn't intended for the general population to use. Don't believe me, ask them while you have the ability to play for free for 30 days.

Not bad at all.

If you'd like to start playing Everquest but have never touched it before, this is a good title to start with.

The graphics are top notch, there's enough servers (worlds) to explore and monsters to kill.

The one small problem I found with the game (That should *NOT* deter you from checking out this title) is the lack of abilities at the lower levels. Here, you are expected to follow a linear path of doing tasks for trainers. I'd rather be out killing monsters, but in order for you to get to this stage, you have a few hours of boring tasks to do.

Other than that, it was well worth the purchase and I can't go a few days without playing.

LOVE this game!!

My husband had played this game for years before he met me. Just recently, he started playing again, and roped me into it. I can't get enough. This is the most addicting game I have ever played. I now have five characters, and am on the game ALL THE TIME. Fortunatly, my hubby and I have two PS (one ps2 one ps3) and two games (one came from a friend) so we get to play together as well. If you don't have a USB keyboard, however, you should really look into getting one - sending messages with a joystick is horrible! Also, go online and download as many maps as possible, so you don't get lost along the way (which is REAL easy to do). And take notes. LOTS of notes . . .

Love this game

I use to play this game when the first EQOA was in beta, then I played up to when this was in beta. After Frontiers beta was over I stopped playing but I want to say how great this game was.

Gameplay: It is a great MMORPG for first time players and novice to RPGs. It takes some time getting use to the controls but very easy to learn. You will want to grind on low levels until you think you can make it out in the real, huge, world.

Story: The story is sometimes hard to understand but the adventure is fun. The quests sometimes are pointless but yet you want the item and exp.

Graphics: This is a PS2 game that came out in 2003 so don't except insane graphics but, and a HUGE but, the environment is HUGE, I mean it takes time to run from one place to the next. It can get tiresome but that just shows you how big this game actually is. I also like the time change.

Sound: The sound is not bad. Music is cool for when you start to attack but after awhile it does get old. FX is good though and should always be on.

Entertainment: You will enjoy this game even if you know nothing about Everquest. Playing with other players or even alone is fun, but it is defiantly more enjoyable with a party.

Replay: Moderate to high because after all this is an RPG and you want to level.

After playing for a couple days you will enjoy the game more and more. Not only do you get 15 classes to choice from but you also can learn trade skills and you get class mastery points for even more added individuality. This is a great game to pick up even if it is 5 years old.

GREAT PASTTIME

This is still by far my favorite game. I played this game for almost 5 years. I now play World of Warcraft, but I find myself many times missing EQ. I found many good people to hang out with playing this game, one is now my very best friend. Where else can you find such great entertainment for this price and find a life-long friend in the process?!
