Humor and Horror Bruce Campbell style.

Evil Dead Regeneration is a hit with any fan of the evil dead movies or games. Although the game is a bit repetitive, it has all the elements that an Evil dead or gaming fan needs at an OUTSTANDING PRICE. While other games sell at 49.99$ first day you get a whole lotta' game for your price with this one.

Humor and horror with a great story and laughs. They took away the ablity to throw out your own one liners.. That's fine. The action is packed. IF you haven't gotten this yet, your missing out. First person shooter fans will not be dissapointed as the game is mostly a 3d carnage fest.

Mindless fun...

Although the sequel looks a bit better than "A Fistful of Boomstick" it is not as much fun to play. Spell casting is gone as are the ability to interact with the enemies etc while using Ash's trademark lines. If you like the movies it is worth a look as long as you aren't expecting Gears of War you will be fine.

It's good enough

Yah this is the best Evil Dead game yet. The graphics/Ash are done up in a slight-cartoonish way so it's not "realistic" but it really works. I thought I'd hate the whole deadite-sidekick thing, but it was actualy fun and funny. Gameplay is tight, controls are fine, it's fun to play and you get different upgrades with Ash's guns/chainsaws. Lotta levels, nothing too difficult. You can unlock secret videos that show Bruce talking about the game, etc - those are fun to see. Not a bad game and I recommend it to any fan of ASH.

Now, where's my chainsaw??

Darn good time

This is a good game and if you're into the Evil Dead series it's a great game. As a series that's found its continuation in video games as opposed to film this is a solid next step plot wise. The introduction of Sam the deadite is fantastic. The banter and antics between Ash and Sam are fantastic and vintage Evil Dead material. A must for the fan of the series. For those unfamiliar with the series, it stands on its own and makes for a good time regardless.

an big let down

when I first turned on Regeneration and saw the graphics I was very impressed and thought this was going to be a step forward from Fistful of Boomstick. Some of the scenery was done very well. But unfortunately, they seemed to have spent so much time making the game look good, they forgot to make actual play equally as exciting.
Regeneration starts off in the cabin in the woods. It was good to be back there and I was excited to see they brought the story line back to the creepy cabin. But just as you're getting into it, that level is quickly over. It was more like an intro. So you then find yourself in a mental institution that became possessed and over run with deadites. Perfect! what more could you ask for that a creepy hospital building? well, again, before you know it the level is over and you're out of there. Having not done much at all. The line of travel is mostly limited to one hallway. you never get to search out and find hidden areas and objects. No challenging puzzles or objects to find and later use someplace else like in "Boomstick". It's very simplistic and quickly over. what a let down. This seems to happen throughout the game. Although I will admit as the game went further on, it did improve slightly. But it just wasn't challenging. The game constantly tells you what to do and never lets you figure things out on your own. You walk near an elevator, the triangle icon appears on screen and tells you to push the button. Never letting you figure anything out on your own. There are so many cinematic cut scenes that you're constantly watching the game like a movie and waiting to actually play. There aren't as many interesting weapons to pick up as you go along either. Some of the execution cut scenes are cool when killing deadites, but over all, I was let down by the lack of challenge of this game. The Sam character ( voiced terribly by Ted Raimi ) is just horrible and makes game play annoying at times. Picture Scrappy Doo doing a Joe Pesci imitation. But so completely typical and over the top. Just not funny at all. When you're controlling Sam in certain scenes, the music that comes on is just silly cartoonish music that doesn't fit with the scary theme of the game at all. Almost points out how stupid and unfitting the character is in this game. I love the Evil Dead movies and enjoy Bruce Campbells character and voice over a lot. But believe it or not, the earlier, more simplistic looking "Fistful Of Boomstick" was much more enjoyable. Hopefully they'll make some major improvements to actual game play the next time they take a shot at the Evil Dead series. And take a lesson from terrible characters like Scrappy Doo and Jar Jar Binks. Don't bother. Skip them entirely.

Best Evil Dead Game so far

Anyone who is a fan of the evid dead trilogy will love this game. Even if you didn't like the movies, check out the game anyway. The previous games based on evil dead were so-so. This game is much better. Same story line and characters, but add a half deadite side kick. The voice of your side kick is raimi himself. The back and forth banter between him and ash is great. Bruce actually put a little effort into the voic overs in this game. A lot of great one liners. Overall fun game, you won't be dissapointed.

Finally a decent Evil Dead game...

This game is the the best Evil Dead yet. I've played both of the others and struggled through them just because I'm a big fan of the subject material. The first one was horrible, the second one was better but this one is by far the best. I guess the third time is the charm. The humor in this game is dead (no pun intended) on with the series and one of the main reasons I fell in love with the Evil Dead trilogy. If you're a fan of Evil Dead or Bruce Campbell you owe it to yourself to pick this game up. We may never see Bruce in the role of Ash again on the silver screen, so this may be the only way us "deadites" can get our fix and I'll take it!

This might be an exciting game..? -Looking foward two it.?
