5 stars for Gitaroo Man!

This game combines many types of music and themes and the concept is great. I find the game to be pretty difficult and it took me a few tries to get past the first level, but it's a lot of fun and worth the money.

Way to short and easy

This game is the 2nd best music/rythem game I have ever played. Guitar Hero is the first. This game is just amazing. It is extremely fun but the fun is short lived because I beat this game in less than four hours and only lost 2 times the whole game. I hope they make a Gitaroo man two. I highly recommend renting this game because it is just to easy.

Get it while it's cheap

Back in October of 05, I bought this game for $90 from eBay, because my brother wanted it for xmas and I couldn't find it anywhere else. To him, it was worth the $90. Now, I have seen three copies at local game stores for $39, and now I see more than ten copies on amazon for only $45. It wasn't even available here in October! Less than half a year has passed! If the price/availability keeps fluctuating, the prices will be back up to $90 in a matter of weeks! Get it now while it is cheap, I urge you. Do not wait, because I doubt it will get much cheaper than this.

Crazy Japanese music game, but it's great

This is one of those wierd Japanese games that you often hear about, but rarely make it over to our shores (Europe anyway). It is not the kind of game I would usually consider buying, though I did own Parappa The Rapper, but though that was amusing initially, I quickly grew tired of it. Gitaroo Man is so much better than Parappa.

I first saw this game on a demo cd from a games magazine, and it had the second level from the game on it. I ended up playing it hundreds of times and became completely hooked, to the point where I had to get the game. I found a cheap copy about 6 months after it's release and for the money I paid it was easily worth it. While there are only ten levels and if you are any good you will complete it within a couple of hours, there is definetely a lot of replay value. Also a very hard difficulty level is unlocked when completing the game, you can now play through again on this difficulty and it is very hard. Only experts need apply for this difficulty as the notes come past at such speed, with tricky button combinations, and guitar sequences. Anyone who can complete that can rightly call themselves an expert.

The only problem with the game is obviously the length, it is short and it is debatable whether it is worth full price, if you can pick it up cheap though it is great fun, and the music, though cheesy, will stay in your head for weeks. The multi-player mode is also great, so get a few friends round and you'll have a blast on this, excellent game.

I had to get this game out of my house.

I owned Gitaroo Man for well over a year, close to two years probably. I finally ended up selling it on here for $30. (Who knew it was worth so much?).

Gitaroo Man is your standard (read: Japanese Weird) rhythm game, where you punch buttons and move the analog stick in accordance to the 'music'. Whether you have any sort of rhythm is really arbitary to your success in this game. Gitaroo Man really measures your ability to remember the button patterns, your reflexes, and your knowledge of where those buttons are on your PS2 controller.

I had to get this game out of my house, though. I had been stuck for 6+ months on the 6th song, and I knew it was hopeless for me to try and finish it.

Great guitaring gods! This is Great!!!

I see a lot of people have reviewed and wrote some stuff for this game, so I keep it short for you. If you like music at all, you'll love it! At first it's a bit frustrating, but you get better and it passes. Yes! you learn how to become better and continue through the game! One of the only things I didn't like was the little child/kiddy story line. I don't know many middle school kids that could play a game this hard. For the next one, could we give it a more mature story or something?....PLEASE?!?

Rock'n out Anime style

If you ever wanted to be in your own music video then Gitaroo Man is a must play for you. The story is pretty straight forward, you play as a kid named U-1 how does battle against some very odd character using your trusty guitar. The gameplay and music are this game's strong points. The controls are simple, you follow a green line with your left annolog stick pressing eithier the O or the X button to strike the notes indicated on the blue line.THis is attacking your opponet. The X,O,square, and triangle buttons are used to doge an enemy's attack. The game progressively gets harder with new songs to conquer only to unlock a hard mode. The music is great and the animation, dispite being bizzare, is cool to look at. This game also has a multi player mode in which you and a friend do battle musicly to one of the game's many songs. This game is never boring, it's fast paced action will glue you to the screen and never let you go.

Absolutely Addicting Game!!

Words can't describe how amazing and addicting this game is. It's easy to catch on and to learn, but it's tricky to master. If you're not a very co-ordinated person then this game might be a bit hard to pick up, but after a few tries you'll really start to get the hang of the different songs and musical styles.

I too am stuck in Master Mode at the Sanbone Trio, level 7 I think. I've got the beginning patterns down perfectly, but every now and then, mid-way through the song, different parts will come at you at different times. SO, it's really hard to try and memorize patterns because they keep changing and rearranging themselves. Best of luck for anyone who gets this far. But to shed some light on the situation, it is possible to beat. I have a few friends who have beaten the game on Master Mode but it does take some time dedicated to this game. And trust me, it's not hard to throw in hours at this addicting game.

I'd totally recommend this game to absolutely anyone, whether you like this styles of games or not. It's totally awesome!!

I had this game for a long while me and my friend bought the game when it game out, we split the cost. It was a great game, i just had a very bad experience with playing it, see i sucked at it. And whenever i pointed out my mistakes my friends brother would bash me down. I ended up hating the game and never wanting to play it again, until my sister played it. Then i started playing it alot again. I showed her how to play and she ended up surpassing me, and beating the game. She beat it before any of my friends or firends brothers beat it. Then she beat it on hard; and was going for master. Until, i gave the game back to my friend, onos. My friend now says he gave it back to me which, i could of sworn was true but as it seems, i dont have the game. SO i know have to buy it again, i'm going to give it to my sister as a late x-mas present since she was so worried about getting it back when he had it.

I first watched my kids play this game from a demo disc we got from PS Magazine. They seemed to like it, and I liked to watch them play it. I purchased it used and they coaxed me into playing it with them. I've been practicing in secret... This is The Best Game Ever! The music is catchy, and the characters are adorable. Even the story is cute. It is challenging, but oh so fun. Did I mention it's The Best Game Ever?!
