Best Collection Ever

This game is the best collection ever! You get the 2002 game of the year battlefield 1942, and it's two great expansions,Battlefield 1942, The Road to Rome, And Battlefield 1942, Secret Weapons of WWII. And you also get Battlefield Vietnam, which is my favorite, where you can drive and fly vehicles, from the Vietnam era, while listening to music from the Vietnam era. These games never get boring, so they're guaranteed to stay fun for a long time. If you like FPS's, and the ability to drive and fly war vehicles, then this is the game for you.

Can't stop playing!

I purchased the original BF1942 and after playing for a while, I new I had to have more so I bought the complete collection and ever since I have not been able to stop playing. This game offers great missions and scenarios. I love the ablility to drive and use all types of vehicles and weapons. And the multiplayer experience is great! There is only one minor issues I have with BF1942, 1) the expansion packs do not automatically rollover to the next mission after completing the previous mission like in the original BF1942. Buy this game and I'm sure you will love it.

This is definitely an excellent collection which has provided many long hours of fun for my guild members and I. I would highly recommend this boxed set for anyone who enjoys playing cooperative, multi-player, first person shooter action games. The varied array of weapons, vehicles, terrain and missions will keep you and your friends coming back for more. I give this one an overall rating of 5/5!

Best *MULTIPLAYER* ww2 game I've ever played

This is IT for MULTIPLAYER ww2 FPS gaming. BF1942 is NOT, nor was it ever intended to be, a single player game (nor was bfVietnam). I prefer the ww2 genre to the modern stuff, so perhaps that's why I still like good old bf1942 and bfVietnam over bf2, halo, etc...

The graphics are great, there are still several servers to play on, the official sites along w/patches are still there, and the gameplay is just amazing. Accuracy depends on whether you're moving or not and you have to learn how much lead is required for the distance to your target (just like in most other FPS that don't have the stupid auto-locking type of aim). Only new players complain they can't hit anything while getting one-shotted. But that's not fair because it's the same w/every FPS game till you learn the mechanics of that game.

What's so fun is both the capture-the-flag(spawn point) gameplay and, most of all, the fact that every vehicle (ship, plane, tank, gun emplacement, you name it) is usable by YOU. No stationary or pre-defined pathing type vehicles. No eye-candy-only tanks, jeeps, planes - they are are all useable by you - and you've been trained in ALL of them (lol).

Lots of extras in the game like the function key voice system (that types a message in chat but simultaneously plays the voice over your speakers - in the native tongue of your team (Russian, Japanese, German, Vietnamese, English w/a British accent, etc...).

I don't play video games near as often as I used to, but when I do, I still reach for my bf1942 CD's 9 times out of 10. For ww2 multiplayer FPS games, this is the only choice imo. For single player only I don't know what to say - I hate single player FPS scenarios. After playing 16 v 16 (or more depending on the server) real live players, I just can't enjoy single player FPS games anymore.

This game has almost real-life situations from multiple war scenes and it provides hundreds of different fields!!! You'll never get bored of the many different games in this package for this price. I have never really bought a computer game or even a system game for myself and I bought this because it was so cheap and I heard great thigns about the Battlefield series. Great way to relieve some stress!

Even though the game's a few years old, there's still plenty of active servers. Many are devoted to just a few particular levels. Worth getting.

Easy to use, play, and install. One of the best WWII games made. Gives you control of any vehicle, position, and command over the battlefield when you want it. Multiplayer just adds to the fun and is easy to run. Must have for those who wants great games with low demands on their computers.

The good of Battlefield 1942

Ive been playing battlefield 1942 for 2 years. Good of battlefield 1942: Battlefield 1942 has always been my favorite game. It offers a nice level of freedom. battlefield 1942 gives some history of WWII its realistic weapons to its deadly corsairs. Battlefield 1942 is not just single player it has 64 player servers. 64 player servers aren't always easy to find. When you first start the game and go to multi-player you will find different servers to go to. The yellow servers you can go to and the gray you can't. By Downloading certain patches for battlefield 1942 you can make these "gray" servers available. Battlefield 1942 has been known (by its players) to be great for stunting such as bail loops in planes, flips in jeeps, and much much more. Glitching is another thing battlefield 1942 is known for. Its fun glitches make it easy to not die! unlike the newer battlefield games battlefield 1942 does not require Radeon series graphics cards. The mac version of battlefield 1942, though it is hard to find, is also available. One of the things that makes battlefield 1942 so appealing is its mods (modification) battlefield 1942 mods are made by skilled players often in coding. Mods edit the game. They do not make it better or worse they turn the game into instead of WWII mods into racing sky diving things like that. By going into the Custom Game panel in battlefield 1942s main menu you can choose different mods that you have downloaded.
