Great Game

This is a really awesome game! Okay. There might not be a lot to do, but everything still is fun. You can't jump, but barrel racing is pretty cool. Here are three things that you can do:
1. Practice Barrel Racing
2. Barrel Racing in Competitions
3. Barrel Racing in the Pasture.

Overall, this game is really cool and fun. And you can choose all sorts of stuff like the rider's hat, hair, shirt, pants and boots.
You can also choose your horse's coat, mane, saddle and pad. Plus, you can name the person and her horse.
It's really fun riding in competitions but my favorite is the Pasture. It's hard but fun.
You can also groom your horse and feed him apples and carrots. It's so cool!

If your looking for a fun horse CD (but with maybe not a lot of things to do), then this is the perfect game for you!
I hope you like this great game!

This game is fun but way to short. I won all the competitions in like 5 minutes. The pasture part is okay but all you ever do is run around barrels. The stable is really boring. There is only three types of saddles and really ugly pads! The types of horses are okay. It is really easy to win. It is getting to be boring!!!

Not the best, but still okay

This game is the only Western one I've seen, and it's pretty good when you start it. It doesn't take much time to finish, though, and you just race around barrels (which actually is a real-life riding game). In the championships, the three barrels are always in the same place. The pasture riding has more to do. The main challenge is making the tight turns and getting to the finish line before the time runs out. The horses look much like ponies, and they don't need any care at all. You can brush or feed them apples or carrots if you want. The scrapbook didn't work very well, but you should go to ValuSoft.com if this happens or you have any other problems. Once you get used to this game, it's really easy. Overall it's good, but don't buy it for more than $10. The Saddle Up games are harder, but they're a whole lot better.

Fun but short

You start out in the game by clicking new game. It takes you into the stable and shows you the person you'll be playing. You can change her hat, shirt, hair, pant, boots, and name. Then you click on a button that says something like Go to Horse and then they take you to a horse. On the horse you can change the coat, mane, saddle, pad, and name. You can only change the name once. After that you are stuck with it. You can also groom your horse by brushing it and feeding it an apple or carrot. After all of that there is a Lets Ride button, click on that and then this little menu shows up. You can go practice in a corral, go to a competition, or go practice in the pasture. In the pasture they give you different challenges that you have to complete. At the beginning they are really hard, but after a while they are easy. In the competitions you have to run around three barrels. It is the exact same in every competition. The only difference is that the times of the other people change. This is a fun game at first, but after that it is just really boring. Hope this review helped you.

Take my advice!!!

This game was an impulse buy for me, being a horse lover. I beat it (all of it, from the actual competition to the pasture mode) in maybe... an hour, at most. This game also has little to no replay value. You beat it the first time, and, well, you beat it. Also, there's no horse care at all and the horse and rider look... odd. Also, you can only barrel race and do the pasture stuff... I was really expecting a lot more, especially from a Let's Ride! title, which are usually very good. Unless this is what interests you, I wouldn't really recommend it.

WHAT IN THE WORLD ?!?!?! DID THEY FORGET TO ADD A CHUNK OF THE GAME IN?!?!?!

Kind of Boring...Don't Get Your Hopes Up

If you're really excited about getting this game, don't be so excited. I was super-excited that my sister bought this game. I thought there would be plenty to do. I found this out: There are only 5 things to do.

1: Practice

The barrels must be made out of Styrofoam! They fall over like an old piece of paper! The barrels are ALWAYS purple with a white stripe going around them. How annoying! And the arrows are annoying and the little "ding" sound they make can get annoying.

2: Competitions

There are only, let's see, a few of these competitions. There's Local, City, County, two State competitions, and two National competitions. I do not know a lot about horses but what I DO know is that on this game you can get a horse with a white coat and a red mane. Who ever heard of that? As I said before, the barrels still make them seem like they're made of Styrofoam.

3: Pasture

The most entertaining of all. The package makes the pasture game--and the entire game itself--seem SOOO great. It's not. There are these different "challenges" to do. Challenges? I don't think so. My two-year-old brother could finish these off. They're too easy.

4: Picking your rider

I'm including this last, but it's really the first thing you do. Change your rider's hair, shirt, hat, boots, pants, and that's it. The people are always white and their skin is really fair. What about for other people whose skin are different colors and they want their rider to look like them? And if they're galloping around in the sun all day knocking over Styrofoam barrels, they would be very tan.

5: Picking your horse, grooming your horse

Pick out of horse coat colors. The package says: "Style your horse's mane..." Style? More like choose. Pick your saddle pad, and the saddle.
Grooming the horses. Feed your horse an apple or carrot. The carrots look kind of stiff. Groom your horse and watch its repetitive actions: Whinny. Shake head. Stamp foot. Whinny. Shake head. Stamp foot. But something very interesting is how the horse sometimes turns into a zebra or gets giraffe-colored. Now that's interesting. Is it just my imagination, or does the zebra go faster than the regular horses?

That's all there is to do. If you are not expecting a lot you might like this game. It's just a computer game, I know, but they could make it a little more realistic. The replays are cool to watch and sometimes it's fun to make up your own routines, instead of theirs.

Also, on the cover of the package, they say something about "ride with your friends in a Western adventure!" It makes it seem like you can ride with people on the game. Do they mean your REAL friends, like actual people? Maybe so.

Overall, this is an OK game. If you don't have your hopes up, and you're not really expecting some great game, you'll be OK with this game. It's just your average horse game, but some other games are much better.

If you get this game, hope you like it more than I did.

fun but also not
