This game is so fantastic! My brother bought it and I played it for literally 5 minutes and I was already adicted! I definitely reccomend this game for videogame lovers of ANY age! I usually play more of the fighting games, but this game has been all I have been playing for the past 3 weeks! the only thing I was discouraged about when I received it from Amazon.com is the fact that they packaged it in a large envelope, leaving the game case smashed up and crushed. Luckily I switched the case with another one, though. Please buy this game it is AWESOME!!!!

Fun in a wierd way

Katamari Damacy is weird, everything to its wildly addicting gameplay to its catchy themesong its just bizzare. The gamplay, the story is about the king of all cosmos lost all the stars so he has to send his son to earth to roll up the earth in a katamari. Every small object can be rolled up by your katamari. Once you successfully rolled up a big anough katamari in the time given you may ethier choose if you want it to ba a star of stardust. There is also Vs mode you can play with freinds. The graphics arent going to win any awards and the story is stupid, but you still might be sitting there for hours playing this game. They also used a unique way of moving your katamari and how it is a challenging game but i wont take the obsessed gamer a day to beat. Its addicitive but not in a fun way. I give it 3 stars

Positive Side

+ Cool gameplay
+ Unique Controls
+ Perfect Soundtrack

Negitive Side

- Way to short
- Not alot of dept
- Crapy Graphics

Very Fun! ;)

What can you say for "Katamari Damcy" except for it's exciting, original, fun, & edgy!. I totally recommend this for any video game fan that love games on the edge of something different & new!.

P.S.- Don't delete this game when you are done because you will need to convert your progress to "We Love Katamari".

This is one of my favorite video games ever created, for many, many reasons. I bought this game in september of 2004 and I'm still addicted to it. The storyline is that you are a little green carpet headed dude who is the prince of all cosmos, and your dad goes on a drunken rampage one day and destroys all the stars in the sky. It's your job to go to earth and roll everything into clumps that will be converted into stars. You control the little prince with both of the analog sticks -- nothing else! You have a katamari that sticks things to it to create your big clumps. This sticky ball picks things up like thumbtacks, erasers, people, buildings, cars, thunder gods, clouds, islands, some big mountain that looks like Mount Fuji, cows -- there is over 1,500 different items to pick up in all. Plus there are hidden presents that you use to dress the prince once you find them. One is the camera which you can use it to take pictures of your surroundings. This camera can be found in Make A Star 5 in case you were wondering. Sometimes your surroundings are filled with hilarious happenings. You can see a polar bear giving a speach, some screaming guy standing on a 1st place stand holding a giant fish over his head, just to name a few. This game is extremely fun for no apparent reason. The game opens with a guy singing na over and over, and a wacky cinamatic follows. It has pandas, singing giraffs, balloons, rainbows, its just so freakin' weird. The music is probably the best ever seen in a video game. To top it all off its only 20 bucks. Go out and treat yourself to the weirdest, most innovative, and fun game of all time!

Peace.

Amazingly inventive. Like nothing else (in a good way). Great music. Entertaining. Comedic. The first time I sat down to play this game, I started thinking "I bought this?" The game is strange, very strange. But it is a ton of fun. I originally bought this game to try and get my video-game hating girlfriend to experience some fun gameplay, and with simple controls, she loves it too. And you can't beat the price.

What? Rolling stuff up in a ball is fun? YES!!!
I was skeptical when I first heard of this game. So, the King of Cosmos got drunk and destroyed all the stars. I play his son and my object is to roll objects up into balls to make new stars...What? Fortunately, I work in a video game store and I was able to play a demo version. And I was hooked. I love rolling over frogs, crabs, cats and dogs...I haven't gotten to the point where I can roll up people yet but I am looking forward to it. The controls can take a bit of getting used to (you use both analog sticks to roll the katamari ball) but once you get the hang of it, you'll be rolling like a maniac!
I found out that the sequel is going to be released in the US sometime this year! I can't wait to see what they're going to do next!

Fun, Fun, Fun!

This is a great game for anyone, no matter the age.
If you can use the Playstation controller, you can play this game.

Plenty of others have given good descriptions of it, so I just wanted to echo a 5 star review.

If you have kids, you will be playing right along with them, I'm sure.

Simply wonderful.

It's crazy, inane, ultimately pointless and full of puzzles and cute quirks. This game is for anyone and everyone.

I'm pretty sure Katamari Damacy is japanese for "awesome"

"So you just roll a ball around?" is typically the question people ask when I try to describe this game. But to experience the hilarity of this completely unique game is most definitely entertaining. And watching the intro video is something I look forward to. It's kind of a mix of Japanese pop-culture and Monty Python animation.
