gotta love it!!

I really love this game. It is the first game like this I've acutally played at home. The real only few times I played it was in Gulf Port, Mississippi at the arcade and that was the first one. Then when the Dreamcast came out and I had aleady purchased the ps1 and back then $180 dollars for a game system was alot. I mean the ps1 was only $120 then. Marvel vs Capcom came out for the ps1 but I could not find it! Not X-men vs Street Fighter not Marvel Super Heros, nothing! So then in 2002 I finnaly got a ps2 and I learned that Marvel vs Capcom 2 was coming out! I went to best buy alot and they didnt have it. Finnaly one day they had it! I bought the game right on the spot no questions!

Ok now about the game. I really just love this game the graphics are great(I have seen clips of the dreamcast version and dont see a difference in the graphic), I really like the jazz music and I dont know why other people hate it so much(when you think about it what other type of music would it have?). Also this game makes the time just fly off the clock. One time I played this game at seven, to waste some time until a show came on, and when I had beat it about two times and looked at the clock it was 10:00! And is it possible to have a game like this on gba? The gba is almost the same as the ps1 right and I really dont care if it is capcom vs marvel with no tag as long as I have gameplay this awsome and on a portable! The people at capcom should really think about it. Well I think anyone would like this game. So git it now.

If you've played games like Street Fighter Alpha 3 or Capcom Vs Snk 2, then you'll love Marvel Vs Capcom 2. It's a lot of fun unlocking all of the hidden characters, and the graphics are top notch. In my opinion, the gameplay is the fastest, craziest, and most entertaining out of any 2D fighter out there. If you're only into 3D fighters like Mortal Kombat: Deadly alliance, Dead or Alive 3, Tekken 4, and all the stuff, then I don't recommend this game to you, but if you're a fan, you won't be disappointed.

This game is incredible! One of the most fun games I have played in my life. It is very fast paced and there is a variety of characters to choose from, from you favorite X-men characters to your favorite Street Fighter characters and other characters representing each universe. But of course there are things I do not like that much about the game, they chaged it quite a bit in my opinion. The backgrounds are in 3-D which I thought didnt match well with the characters, There is a lacking of modes to choose from, and the music just made me feel weird when I was playing. I guess what a am trying to say is that they should of just made it like the first Marvel vs Capcom but with the characters they have in Marvel vs Capcom 2. But this game is still really good its player friendly for the pro and novice alike. A really good game for 2-D fighting genre.

This is the BEST DAMN FIGHTING GAME PERIOD. MVC 2 lets you chose from 56 fighters 3 at a time for a 3 on 3 match against the computer or a human opponent. The gameplay is fantastic. They even offer a easy mode for the beginners. The music for the game is not dramatic like the other crossover fighters and the 1 player mode doesen't have a story to it. But who needs that anyway. This game is so very very valuable that anybody would be crazy to sell it. This is by far one of the best 2d fighters ever made!!!!!!!

I know this game is a great classic, but...

$90 for a pre-owned copy??? I used to own this game for Dreamcast (best console version) and loved it, and now I am interested in finding a reasonably priced copy for my PS2 or maybe Xbox (not sure if it'll play on my 360...). EB Games/GameStop are selling used copies for $59.99 and you can't find it at any other retailers new so I guess everyone is forced to settle for price gouging. Damn, wish I had bought a new copy back in 2002 when it was only $39.99. Who woulda knew?

Great Game, Shameful Price

Once again I say, all you sellers are insane. $100 for a used game lol. Chinatown... nuff said. Treat yourself, don't cheat yourself. The game is the pinnacle of 2D fighting, but I'm not telling you anything you don't already know. Anyone who was putting their quarters up back in the day should own this gem.

I loved Marvel Vs Capcom 2 when it was in the Arcades,But i always got spanked by other humans I Fought Against. And even though I got spanked i still had a lil soft spot in my heart for it. After waiting a LONG While, Capcom released it for the Home Systems, I picked it up and was blown Away.

The Replay Value is Amazing there are about 32 Hidden Characters you can unlock Using a "point" system. You get Points by how high you rank on the Ranking Board at the end of the game and a series of other things, like your Biggest Combo, Average Vitality you had at the end of matches and so on.

I think Capcom could of picked some better Marvel Characters besides BlackHeart and Shuma Gorath. I have NO idea who they are. Where's NightCrawler? or Jubilee Even? they would of been better choices besides the other two. And was there really a point in Putting in two Separate Wolverines? Sure the difference is one has Bone claws that are a bit longer, and the other the regular Admantium Claws but come on. Also, The Capcom Roster has it's flaws as well. Roll and ServBot are the most useless Characters ever. Why didn't they put in Chris Redfield? They have Jill. And how Cool Would it Be to Be able to Select good Ole Nemesis to brawl it out?,or maybe Even Zero From the Mega Man X Series. I wish there was more of a Storyline in this game,There really isn't any Endings like in Marvel Vs Street Fighter 2.

These small Bickers aside. M vs C 2 is a VERY good game,I've unlocked all my characters already, and i really have no interest in the Alternate Costumes and Character Galleries. But I will still always go back to this Game Because it is very good. The sound is pretty good,But as in other reviews about this game, the Character Selection Music Makes you wanna scream after awhile. A strong Jazz Influence was put into this Game and i think it Fits.

Oh and in case you were wondering....I am not so [cruddy] anymore and can hold my own in the Arcades when playin it =D Now we just need a Marvel Vs Capcom 3 or some other Spinoff like Capcom and Marvel VS SNK With the M Vs C 2 Game engine (not the Capcom vs SNK 2 Game engine cause i think that came is pretty bad...meaning awful)Now that would Be Insane! Get this Game! You Won't regret it!

This is probably the best example of Capcom's peak of pinnacle potential as far as fighting games goes, not that that's a bad thing but you'd hope more of games like this from Capcom but then you'd have to remember how hard Capcom is for change and that anything 'new' they come out with is going to be a very minimal push in that direction in hopes it'll bring something amazing in the process-- small bites, huge flavor take note.

Marvel VS Capcom 2? Your expectations will be heavily exceeded if you manage a copy of this game to be had in your hands. I'd actually never knew there were a limited amount of copies of this game so when I checked out EBay and Amazon prices of this game, they range from 90 to sometimes, (in the most heart sinking experience) up nearly to the thousands of dollars... it's amazing just how priceless this game may seem but it holds true considering just how GOOD this game really is with a huge unprecedented scene of over 50 characters... you can admit some of the characters are worthless, but I see them more as handicaps you can pit yourself with while fighting other people; gag characters; jester anomalies; the "IN YO FACE" factor... seriously, if you can manage a team of just Roll, Servbot and say... Hayato, or Captain Commando, but do most of your damage with Servbot and perhaps defeat two of your enemy's characters with just him... that's really telling you something.

I do have two complaints about this game but they can be easily remedied, well one of them at least... the first complaint is the soundtrack to the game... playing it through, you kinda feel like you're in some jazz club that went horribly wrong-- how? Well first think of playing something like The Rippingtons or something as some crazy anime battle is going on... it's just like that in a sort. The music is HORRIBLE! After almost losing my mind for allowing myself to let it play through once as I finished a game, I couldn't stand it anymore and just went to Options and muted the music all together, do yourself a favor, hit up your stereo/boombox and play your own tunes compatible to your tastes while you play this and you'll be fine. My second concern is of ONE character in the game... and it's something Capcom has seemingly refused to do since the birth of Darkstalkers, yes, I mean the animation for Morrigan... ... I swear, it's been YEARS since they've created her, and it's about time they reconstructed how she feels because she is the ONLY character in that game that feels out of place as far as actually playing the game goes. I mean it, play another game that has her in it, like Capcom VS SNK 2 and then play this game... she plays exactly the same way, and that's a damn shame.

===

In all, this game is like a relic, should be owned, cared for and honored as one of the greatest achievements of fighting game innovation. Is it the best? Well my preference still says Guilty Gear was (Not the X Series... I'm talking about the ORIGINAL Guilty Gear game from 1998) but that's just me... if I don't want my fix of Sol Badguy or Chipp Zanuff destroying the opposition, I pop this game in and use my most favorite team of all time: Hayato, Captain Commando and Megaman and go to town for a few hours.

It's a shame this game is discontinued as a title to be purchased and subject to EBAY and Amazon high price enthusiasts but that leaves this game much to be reveled in as an authentic classic among the few that exist today.

The BEST fighting game in videogame history.

I don't agree with the thing about the music of this game, cause the music is awesome. For those fighting games hardcore gamers know what I'm talking about, this game is absolutely the best fighting game ever made. I had this game for Dreamcast and i sold it, then i had it again for X-Box and sold it again, and now here I am buying the game again for $90.
