Ok, i waited along time to play this sequel, because i LOVED the first manhunt. I heard they were making a sequel but someone told me it wasnt gonna be made for the PS2 so i was really bummed. When i read they made it for PS2, i checked it online and read some reviews. Of course EVERY review mentioned how it sucked because of the censoring of the gore. So i was really upset and wasnt gonna buy it, but then i read you could get a CodeBreaker disc to see the clips of gore. So i figured MAYBE ill get the codebreaker disc so i bought the game.

i didnt buy the codebreaker because i decided im not gonna spend a extra $20 just to see 10 seconds of gore during the killings and to be honest ITS NOT THAT BAD AT ALL. i heard you see blur shots covering the gore...but its not blur, the scene kinda flashed and goes in to this weird acid trip of a look with weird colors during the kill and to be honest its kinda cool in a weird way, plus i don't love the game because of the 10 second clips of you killing an enemy, i like it because i like sneaking around in shadows and creeping up on unsuspecting enemies and snuffing them out and because of the "creepy" factor of the game. Its fun when they detect me and start chasing me and i got to lose them...things like that, sure the violent gore of the killings were a bonus but thats not the only reason i love the game.

IS it better then part 1? no way!! the original seemed funner and the movements of the camera were better but this game is a decent sequel, i dont know why they just didnt leave the gore like they did in the original and i do wish it was uncensored but im not gonna run around buying extra codebreakers just for this game, i honestly never heard of CodeBreaker, what other games do they work on? probably none that i have so why pay $20 more?

SO i say get Manhunt 2, its not as good as 1 but its a decent game and almost as fun as the original. I havent finihsed it yet, im only 4 scenes into it and its still as much addictive as the first one was.

Wicked!

Tons of fun, just as good as the first Manhunt. Extremely Violent, and Gory Execution scenes, and a halfway decent story line.

Manhunt 2 is a cool game

This game was pretty intense. Its not as horrific as everyone says, I've seen worse in many movies. But the gameplay is smooth. I love the hiding in shadows, tricking enemies, the puzzles were good. I didn't ever feel lost in the game or going over the same territory in search of that one clue. Once you beat the game its fun to go thru the levels again.

This must be a great game...my son rarely leaves his room long enough to even eat, let alone anything else. We have to pry him away from his computer!

FUN!

I've been playing this game for a couple of days now, I'm almost finished, while waiting for gta4, and I must say I am happy. I am having so much fun! Maybe the first "Manhunt" had a better story (more paranoia and panic), but this one is easier to play. PS2 graphics are never again going to impress us, but I still find the environments very creepy and nice, and the characters look good. The level design is good, and varied (and twisted), and I know lots of people complain about the gun-missions, but I think they're great!
All in all a fun ride.
Oh, and for the best experience: Play alone at night...

better than the first!

so my 360 finally gave me the dredded red ring of death and as i'm waiting for it to get repaired, i have my trusty ps2 to keep me busy. right now i'm re-playing manhunt 2.

i love it.

much better than the first installment.

i know that i'm definitely in the minority here and that's fine, but here are my reasons:

1. the story. daniel lamb has escaped from a mental institution, and is trying to piece together his life and his reality. this subject matter makes me want to keep playing until the end in order to find out what happens. in the first manhunt, even though i played it through to the end, i really couldn't care less about the character james earl jones- errr, i mean cash.

2. i LOVE the filters!!!! i agree that censorship sucks, but i have to give rockstar some props here: they took the dreaded AO rating and dealt with it in the most creative way possible. many people say, that you cannot see anything when a kill happens- i say, if you are having trouble figuring out what is going on, you are blind! the filters ADD to the gruesome violence as it puts you in lambs mind as the killings are taking place. this is how he's seeing the violence in his mind! imo, i've seen unedited/unfiltered manhunt 2 kills on youtube, and i gotta say, that they don't look nearly as good.

3. area specific kills are genius! and also jumping through the air from on top of a roof or trash can with a crowbar in hand and landing right on top of a specific enemy is totally rewarding to see!

4. no frustrating moments. i'm re-playing the game on "insane" difficulty, and while harder than i remember manhunt 2 being, it is still a pleasure to play. i remember parts of manhunt 1 where there was a gigantic learning curve simply because of spawn points, bad a.i., or bad level design. manhunt 2 has none of these problems.

i know that a lot of people are probably going to write hate letters, or at least say that they feel differently, and as i said before, that's fine. but really read what i'm saying, and take another look at the game before you judge.

A Walk Through LifeManhunt two is no way near as good as the first one it's an average game and what spoils it is the executions. On the first one you could see them clearly but on Manhunt 2 the kills are all distorted. At the end of each level you do not get a rating like you did on the first one this takes some of the thrill out of the game, I was anticipating a much better sequel.

This Game is Disturbing and Sadistic

This game is so disturbing and depressing that it makes the movie darkman look cheerful by comparison!
This game is very violent and it makes Mark of Kri look like an T-rated game by comparison.
Don't get me wrong I like violent video games I just can't stomach graphic or very realistic depictions of violence. This game is more disturbing than any horror movie I've seen lately(13 Ghosts).

If I wanted to be depressed or disturbed I'll watch the news!
This game is not for sensitive people or those who are squeamish!
Only buy this game if you enjoy a blood and gory fest!
Parents don't get game for your kids or teens this game is rated M for a reason!
