I purchased this game for my preschool ages daughter. I was surpised my 6th grader and 7th grader loves this game. They play marbles, dodge ball run thru this nieghborhood getting into trouble or playing with PS2 friens. They compete with each especially the marbles. It very good for the creative minded child because they get to creative there own looks and can change the clothes. The mom calls out get out of the water, time for bed. They can buy toys at the store as they run thru the neighborhood looking for adventures. PS my preschool play game with the help of the older ones. In this game she can go to the playground all by herself.

What I think of "My Street" (by Laura)

My Street is a somewhat entertaining game. You can create your own character after yourself, or you can really pour your imagination into it, to make a wild child like no other. The voice overs are also good, but why on earth, are there so many more boy voices than girl voices? After all, we girls are unique too. The storyline you follow is... interesting. Apparently you have just moved into a new neighborhood, and you have to prove yourself to be the top dog before school starts back up. Otherwise, during the school year, the bully will steal your lunch money 'till the end of time *sarcastically shivers with fear*. Your overly strict, psychic, and loud mother takes a lot of the fun out of it for you though. I mean come on, "You may not swim in the water without your mask and fins!" when she never got you a pair of mask and fins, or "You may NOT wander so far from home! Get back here NOW!" when your less then 10 feet from your house just wanting to check out the school. For pete sakes, you can't even stay out past nine without her screaming at you! I might as well be thrown into a jail cell. At least the farm chores are fun, except for the cow. I've wasted so much time on that stupid cow... The farm game itself isn't that much fun either, nor is that horrid racing game which is responsible for why I haven't beaten the story yet. Both, ironically, are harder than the more fun dodgeball game, which I assume is the final game. Bullies like dodgeball right? Anyway, I prefer the other mode where you can play what you want when you want with reduced yellings from your mother. Anyway, if you want a good laugh and some fun, go for this game.

okay..... but missing something's

My street seems like a good idea for a game, create a charecter, run around doing cool things like RC racing, playing marbles and preety much every thing you can do as a kid, even take it online. how ever- voice overs, though sometimes funny, got reaaaally annoying at times. you would be playing something like "dodge ball" or "marbles" and you would hear something like "haha! i got the skills to pay the Bills" which is stupid.
and you should be able to explore the world more, and not haveing your mom yelling at you from across town (somehow) when you get passed the school yard. overall though, i liked the concept and the gameplay was fun but i still wished those problems werent there.

My 8 year-old loves it

(PS2 version)

I finally had to break down and buy this game for our kids for Xmas. Nearly everytime we'd go to the rental store my 8yo son would want to rent it. (Son 8, daughter 5, son 3).

I've read the reviews here and find it really interesting the huge gap in opinions.

For the most part my kids never played the story mode. Although my son found it interesting once I got him to try it. They preferrred to play in game mode where they could simply choose which game to play.

Other than volleyball they seem to have little problems playing the mini-games. Marbles and dodgeball is their favorite.

I've played along with them and have found no issues with control or graphics. Yes, the name-calling of the characters is extremely obnoxious and border-line rude. I'm not sure it will teach kids positive behaviors in that respect. Still the games are fairly entertaining.

Certainly I wouldn't recommend spending a ton of money for this game but if you can find it for $20-$25 there's a good chance it will get some good playing time.

First, I should point out that Sony took down the online servers for this game so the online feature is no longer available.

This is one of the few games out for the PS2 that is geared towards young children and I've rated it as such.

My Street is Sony's answer to Nintendo's Mario Party series of games. Overall it has moderate replay value and in the end my 4-year old son enjoys playing it but prefers Mario Party.

If you have young children and do not own a Gamecube then I would recommend getting this game, otherwise you'll want to pass on this one.

Worst game ive ever played

This game is so bad, it accuatly gave me diahhirah. Right when i popped this game in the crappy music ruined it for me. It was fun for the first 2 minutes. There are some funny mini games, but thats all it is. Mini games. IT SUCKS. If your lookin for some puzzlin fun and you are under the age of 3, by all means, pick this title up. But if you like video games, Avoid this game.

Pros- I never have to play this game again
Cons- This game exists

This game rocks!

I think think this game is pretty good! I mean, you get to make your character! But there is some low points. Like, I picked up a chew toy for the bully`s dog... but I cound not fuger out how to give to the dog!! But oh well...

Not great but...

I bought this game a while ago thinking that it might be a little bit like Shenmue for kids but...it aint. While the game does have a large world to explore, for the most part you can't interact with much of it, the world is mostly a giant painting you move around in. You also can't explore as much of it as I would like. Your characters mom seems to have the ability to telepathically know when your near the edge of town and prevents you from going farther. I wanted to head over to the school but nooo. The games were pretty fun but you have to beat them pretty quickly if you want to beat the game. The key is to get the chicken game out of the way as quickly as possible so you can start making money to save up for a RC car. The RC cars are probably the most difficult of the games with a small window of error.
The funnest game to play for me was volleyball. The lamest for me was that stupid chicken game. I didn't know what was going on half the time. Just get enough arrows in the chicken's path and hope for victory.
Although the games are pretty fun at times, the real reason to buy this game is to create the freakiest kid ever. I probably spent more time creating different freaky kids. If you beat the game then you can unlock even wierder faces The voices for the kids are silly, particularly the girl voices. "The piggies must lose." Good stuff.
At any rate, it's not that great a game but if you always wanted to run around town as Hannibal Lecter Jr. then this might be right up your alley.
P.S. The piggies must lose!

SUCKS!

This game is known as the worst game I ever bought. I've owned it for about a year and even though it looks fun on the back don't get it. The idea of the game is to have enough money at the start of school to pay the bully. What you have to do to get the money is by helping them on all of the kids problems. You then have to do their challenges like winning games of marbles, dodgeball or volleyball. The big problem is you have to play marbles at the start and can't play any other games! Another huge problem is what the hell is Chemistry Doing in it.
