Highly anticipated ending to the series

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 1 / 2

I have great hopes for this epilogue to the onimusha series, and from the looks of it, this game will live up to my expectations. Ive seen it in action, and it is simply astounding graphic-wise. The polished characters, lighting, and realistic backrounds are some of the best yet on the PS2. The action looks like it will be a step up from the first two, giving more freedom of movement and smoother combat. Its also said that this game will be considerably longer than its predecessors, and allows multiple routes in certain areas of the game. This should rise the replay value. Im almost positive that this game will make a big splash when it finally gets released.

A game cannot live on an intro alone

As has been stated many times already, the CG intro to this game will go down in history. Unfortunately that is all that will be remembered. (...) The storyline is sub-par to say the least. The introduction of idiotic elements like a sqeaky voiced tinkerbell are confounding. The in-game cinimatics are very poor quality. It seems as if the entire budget went into the intro movie which seems to have little to do with the actual game. This is time and money that is better used elsewhere. It's a shame that a good series has to end this way.

THE MOST AMAZING GAME IN THE HISTORY OF GAMMING!

This has to be the best game ever created. I am telling all who read this: ignore any bad comments about this game. It is simply amazing. It has a very intriguing storyline that gets the gammer into the game. Onimusha 3 also offers a new control scheme making it easier to play. Also the graphics are beyond comparison to any other game. The CG intro is the best known to all gamers and the in-game schenes are a blend of motion picture style graphics. I highly recommend this game to any and all gamers who love a good time. Your time shall not be wasted with this amazing game.

WEll,I just wasted my 50$ on this game. I should have waited til it becomes a greatest hit. This game is not what i expected. I bought this game because a friend said it was going to be the king of all action games. It is decent but not the best. If you own a Xbox I would suggest the much better Ninja Gaiden. For ps2 only owner check out Prince of Persia, Devil May Cry or even Castlevania (LOI). In my opinion better games and at a cheaper price. If you do own all the games I said earlier this is a decent action game while your waiting for better ones to come out. Things I didn't like obout Onimusha 3 where boring storyline, fixed camera angles, and the fact there's no jump button. It's backgrounds are fully 3d but it doesn't matter because the camera angles are fixed like they were in the past games. Get Onimusha only if you love the series or are a hardcore action game fan. Other than that it's not worth the $50 oh and what's with the fairies?

masterpiece

The final chapter of the Onimusha trilogy radiates excitement and is the very definition of epic. The opening CG cinematic is so detailed and explosive that I wouldn't be surprised if George Lucas started handing out pink slips to the ILM crew. I know this clip is only a few minutes in length, but it is worth the price of admission alone. Further justifying that you absolutely need to add this title to your library, the gameplay is equally exquisite and is brimming with non-stop intensity. The methods with which you dispose of your assailants remain simplistic and true to the series. Plus, the battles are much larger in scope, the pacing of levels is relentless, and the visuals that you breathe in are all the more majestic. This truly is game development at its finest. While I would have liked to see more interaction in the environments, and depth in the combat, I really couldn't ask for a better conclusion to one of the PlayStation 2's finest series.

This is a terrible game. I am a /huge/ fan of the first two Onimushas, and their smashing, wild successes tricked me into buying this one. The controls, the characters, the story, the additions, the settings, the sounds, the graphics -- everything is wrong or off or outright terrible. Don't make my mistake.

I've also watched a friend play all of Onimusha 4. If you've played the first two and you're looking for more, it's safe to purchase that one. It's not nearly as good as the first two, and in some ways it's different enough that it probably should be even called part of the Onimusha series, but at least it doesn't suck. Skip this product; it's for your own good.

I gave it 2 stars overall because it contains Samanosuke, and he deserves some amount of credit for simply existing.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, lets get ready for "Onimusha: The Movie. Just kidding, their isn't a movie, but the game sure does feel like one. I this is the only problem with the game, there are to many cut scenes. This could be a great film, but it a game, I want to play. I spend almost 2 hours looking at the game instead of playing it. But that's really the only problem, it reminds me of "Metal Gear Solid:Twin Snakes", a great game that could be an outstanding movie. We've been getting alot of problems lately with video games. Like the story isn't good enough, or you'r looking more into you'r inventory than actually playing the game, much like "Resident Evil:Zero". But I like this game, it was actually a challenge, which is more than what I can say about "True Crime:Streets Of L.A."
So go ahead and but the game.

I played through both Onimusha games and loved both of them. This one is the best by far!! The opening cinema scene could be put up against anything Square Soft has ever done. I played for 7 hours straight and I still want more. Just a great game!
