This game, poorly reviewed as I have seen before, is so much fun and a game you can play over 3 times.
Great videos, gameplay, and the music is the best. Breaking Benjamin soundtracks and other spooky music to keep you in the mood.

Very recommended for everyone.
PS2 though is better than the xbox game.

Forgettable But Still a Good Time

This is one of those games that won't stick with you after you've played it, but it's a decent game that has its moments.

RLH -- Hunt or be Hunted

This game may have an awkward name since running away from "The Race" in the game is NOT a good idea. They're much faster then you. Maybe the Scouts if you've got good skills but Cutters and Brutes is another story. But anyway, this game has excellent voice acting, an original storyline, great graphics and environments, and even cooler music. Both the suspenseful and the rock music produced by Breakin Benjamin's CD "Saturate". There is very cool furturistic weapons that can be upgraded to be stronger since the aliens get tougher and adapt to your behaviors. Well thought out and probably the best Sci-Fi alien game made, I've played others like Alien Resurrection for PS1 but that didn't do it for me, and Half-Life's original but later on you fight too many human marines rather then aliens. If you're concerned about your parents for this game being too violent, well you're mostly killing aliens. Never a human pretty much and there's hardly no blood in this game. Yeah there's a pretty nice decapitation in the beginning but that's really it. The blood splatters on the walls and floors throughout the levels are pretty bland and too dark to see. This game does have 3 uses of an F bomb dropped though. Mostly the main character Nick Conner. But more like 5 F bombs because there's one on a couple songs in Chapter Four and one on one of the same songs on Chapter Seven. But you won't hear it unless you got headphones on. The controls are extremely responsive and not hard to learn, kinda like GTA's controls and maybe a little better. This game only dissipoints on a few factors because the game's self-running trailer or demo perhaps if you leave the main menu alone looks alot faster and cooler. And the game's action isn't that fierce and exciting. Plus most of the demo was from the CGI movies which you'll see in the game combined with gameplay. And lastly there's no unlockables, so the replay value might not hold out unless you wanna do all seven chapters again. You could make a "Chapter Selection" thing up and make seven out of the eight total game saves and just play a specific level(s) you like at any given time without doing the entire game over again. The puzzles in RLH are very tedious involving buttion combinations, which gets boring. But the best puzzles are on Chapter One. Here and there, you might get some button mashing parts, but it's nothing serious. There is no additional endings like Silent Hill and this game's ending is a little depressing, but then again the whole game is depressing because nothing goes right and the aliens get worse to deal with, till the point Nick needs to get the hell off the Forseti Station and blow it up and with any friends he still has last. I won't spoil what happens inbetween though, but I got kinda pissed when a favourite character of mine got blown up on Chapter Four. Anyway for lastly, some small game hints: Don't attack the big Brute aliens they're impossible to kill unless you use a custom made Crossbow toward the end of the game, or use high explosive tank canisters. There is some nifty tricks to kill the Brutes in the game but I'll leave that up to you to check out. As for Cutters and Scouts, they get alot deadlier throughout the game and some "boss versions" of them occur a few times. Make sure to upgrade the weapons and spend chips on the most reliable weapons. The best guns to use for chips not specifically made for a specific weapon, is the Rifle, Assault Rifle, and Pulse Rifle. There's alot of ammo for Shotgun but alot of weapons in this game hardly got ammo for them, one even sucks your health away if you use it (the alien weapon) but thankfully I completed this game with 111 medical kits so this game is not very hard to find health. Some of the weapons are even unlimited ammo!! Which really is a nice thing. Now you've got some good info to start with, so buy the game!! They should make a sequel. Due to a cliff hanger ending.

great is not a strong enough word

This game is absolutely amazing. It is rare to come across a good and so thoroughly developed game of the science fiction genre. This is no corny Edd Woods reminescent walk in the park with crappy aliens and even crappier plot. The voicing talent makes the game so much more real, as does the eerie lighting, fog effects, and the enviroment responsive sounds. Even though the name may seem a little... ok, really bad, you can't judge the game by it. RLH is more than worthy of the price asked for what you'll be getting. Have fun.

STRONG GRAPHICS AND STORYLINE

4 Rating: 4, Useful: 4 / 7

I WANT TO GIVE IT 4.5 STARS, BUT I CANT. IT IS A GREAT GAME WITH AN EXCELLENT STORYLINE. USER FRIENDLY CONTROLS AND EXCITING GAMEPLAY. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND IT. ONLY ONE DRAWBACK- IT IS TOO EASY. ALTHOUGH THE MONSTERS ARE WELL DEVELOPED AND VISCIOUS, THEY DIE FAR TOO EASILY. IT IS NOT SO MUCH THAT THEY ARE WEAK, BUT THAT YOUR WEAPONS BECOME WAY TOO POWERFUL, WHICH SERIOUSLY CUTS BACK ON THE CHALLENGE. YOU FIND WEAPON MODIFICATORS THROUGHOUT THE GAME, AND OVER THE COURSE OF THE GAME YOUR WEAPONS BECOME "SUPERCHARGED." ALTHOUGH THE GAME IS LONG AND WELL WORTH YOUR MONEY, I BEAT THE BOSSES OF THE GAME WAY TOO EASILY. EXCITING AND FUN, BUT IT- (I REALLY HOPE THE SEQUAL-AND THERE WILL BE ONE IF THE STORYLINE HAS ANY TRUTH TOO IT)- IS MUCH MORE CHALLENGING.

Really Great Game

Im not really into Sci-Fi games or adventure games but this is a really enjoying game. I first played the demo and knew i had to have it. So I got on amazon.com and bought it. This is the funest game I have played in a long time. There are great graphics, well, awsome graphics, sweet looking aliens, and awsome voice. I dont know what others are saying about the game being 'too challenging' or 'impossible' because it is the perfect mix. They dont give too much health but you need to control how you use it because it is hard to find as you get moving in the game. I would give this game 5 stars but I dont like the auto-aim but I guess its worth 5 and a half stars.

Walk - Don't Run Like Hell

3 Rating: 3, Useful: 3 / 14

If you see this game on the shelf at your neighborhood
video game store, like that Dionne Warwick song says,
"Walk on by". This game has good ideas, but could've
been a lot better. "Aliens" kicks/ this game to the curb,
except for the auto-aim feature. This game has to have
one of the coolest titles, but you never feel like you're
running for your life. They give you so much health
you're not really worried about dying. I wanted to be
scared, but this game wasn't having it. I've played it
through about 90%, and I probably won't bother finishing
it. I just want to erase it from my memory card. Too
bad I can't erase it from my memory...

Reminds me of Systemshock2

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 6 / 7

In Run Like Hell you receive live transmission messages from people who are still struggling to survive the cataclysmic events unfolding on the space station. You also see recordings revealing clues to the horror that has taken place when you were away... And the aliens are transforming people by merging them with horrific super beings called Elite.

This is so brilliant, and reminds me of Systemshock2. Unlike Systemshock2, in Run Like Hell you get to actually find survivors, interact with them and try together to find ways to escape. Also in Run Like Hell space marines try to rescue you but fail in a horrific bloodbath they didn't expect, because you were electronically jammed from warning them by the intelligent aliens. This is the best Sci-Fi horror ever.

And just like Systemshock2, the ending makes you feel wary and uncomfortable because you know it isn't over and the human race is still at stake.

You meet many different variations of the alien race:

Amalgamator - The master Aliens behind the attack. They are intelligent but not very strong.
Brutes - Big monsters. Run for your life.
Elites - have two legs two long arms and no head. They are telepathic and lead the others with mind control. They can have human heads from their victims assimilating their knowledge and personality. They can lure you into thinking that certain people are still alive to lure you.
Cutters - Ugly fast aliens with sharp teeth like taken out of the movie aliens.
Cloaked Cutters - Invisible cutters. Really creepy.
Drones - Spiders with human heads. Really, really creepy.
Scouts - Shaped like scorpions with alien heads and sharp teeth.
Snipers - run on two feet but have multiple legs for climbing and hanging from any surface. They fire bolts of plasma at you from far away....

The Best Alternative to Fox's "Alien" Universe (In A Game)

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 3 / 3

I only wish Fox's attempts at conveying the creepiness of the original "Alien" in a video game had been as successful as this alternate, yet unique, form.

I read early reviews by reporters who had seen "beta" trade show demos of this game, and complained that the final product lacked something the demo promised. But these reporters need to realize that consumers generally don't go to trade shows and so aren't biased against the final release. All we see is what's on the store shelves and based on that, I love this game. I'm 35 years old and I love good action games and this one delivers the action as well as a very well thought out storyline. Frankly this video game script is better than most Hollywood sci-fi horror attempts. It has well drawn characters, beautiful art direction, and elegant game controls. Yes, elegant!

I would agree with one reviewer that complained about the alternative rock interludes that are simply annoying. This video game has a lot of class, and the rock music takes it down a notch. The scored "cinematic" music is far better.

The sound design is awesome. I can't emphasize enough how top notch the environment and production design is. If this had been a feature film, I would have paid my 9 bucks to see it. This game has all the depth of a big budget TV pilot, and based on the story, I hope Interplay and Digital Mayhem continue with more Episodes of Run Like Hell.

I would like to add this. There should be an option to somehow just watch all the in-game videos in narrative order to just watch this game as a movie. In case a player can't finish the game, they should have an option to at least see the story. Also, there's a music video hidden on the disc as well. It seems only fair that if you pay $50 for a game, you should have immediate access to all of its features. Nothing should be hidden.

Do yourself a favor. Buy the game and enjoy it. It's really great. An it's not infuriatingly hard, you just have to be calm while you play it (easier said than done!)

5 Stars!
