This game has it all. My kids love playing it. It teaches kids how to look after a horse as well as ride. I cannot reccomend this highly enough.

I wish i had it

I don't have this game but I do Have a pretty good idea of it. My favorite part of this game is probibly is when you get to choose the color of their mane, tail, and their coat because there are hundreds of differant combanations. I am wishing that I will get it.

Overall, one of the better "Let's Ride" games.

Let's Ride: Silver Buckle Stables is one of the better of the "Let's Ride" series of horse-related games.

Although it might say there are "20 different breeds," there is no difference in the size, shape, or conformation of any of the horses. It is more like 20 different colors. A good thing is that you can mix and match coat colors, mane colors, blankets, saddles, bridles, and even eye color. You unlock more coat colors as you move up in the classes.

The competition's are fairly easy to beat, but they do go up in difficulty as you move up in classes. The mini-games are also around the farm, but are basically the same as the competition games made to go around natural obstacles.

Finally, I do like the "quick play" of this game compared to most. You still have to bathe and brush your horse, but it is fairly quick, and feeding and watering isn't too bad either. Although you don't do some main things, such as pick hooves, muck stalls, etc, it does help in the aspect of being able to go back to the competitions quicker instead of doing everything around the barn for 5 minutes until you can ride again like some horse-related games make you do.

Overall, good game.

When I first got it, it was fun, but then after a while I stopped playing it. It says over 10 different breeds, but the horses are no different. All you do is enter competitions and groom your horse..I don't really think this is one of the better games.

It's ok...

I think that this game is ok, if you just like to ride. You don't do much of learning how to take care of your horse, except to brush, bathe, feed, and water your horse. All you really do is just ride. There are a lot of horse combinations (color, markings) which I think is good...
It's ok if you like to win western competitions like barrels, and poles.

ok, but boring and not much to do.

This game was not as fun as other games I have. This game you didn't get to do much, and the graphics are not too good. I have seen just about every horse game ever made for computers. This one was NOT the greatest. The was chopps and easy to practice, but hard to beet.

fun for a while

Silver Buckle Stables is not one of the best games out there but it still is fun. I like it that you can walk around barn and not just click for where you want to go. the game is fun at first, but after you've unlocked every thing and have gotton to the highest level there is'nt much to do. Some of the good points of this game are: it has pretty good graphics, it's very realistic, you can name your horses, and you can ride around in the fields just for fun. Some of the bad points are: it gets boring after a while, and the horses never eat the feed they're given unless they're practicaly starving.
one other extra detail is, If you hit Caps Lock the character will run.

Fun for any horse lover

I received the game today and it was a little frustrating installing the game onto my computer because I have Windows Vista. If you are having the same problem with the wizard being interrupted like I did, you have to Custom install it and make sure you don't install the DirectX9 component. After I figured that out, the game installed and loaded like it was suppose to. The game works great on Vista, graphics are fabulous and much better than I expected. I like that you can ride around the farm without the game blocking you from different areas. You can ride the horse to the practice arena and back again, take off to other places if you want to.

I'm still practicing with the movements and with the different formations you can ride - but the directions are pretty straight forward. I really liked the tutorials in the beginning of the game to get acquainted with the game. Some games don't do that and you end up hunting down the tutorials if you have problems. This game is very easy and a joy to play. I only have it a few hours and I can tell it's going to be addicting.

Now that I had a pleasant experience with this game, I'll probably buy some of the others in the collection.

Great game - for newer computers

Santa brought this game for my girls, who are 4 and 6. Both have really enjoyed playing the game - on my newer computer. They have their own computer - a 2002 Sony VAIO. It will not play on this machine. I have updated all the drivers and still no go. I read someone with Vista custom installed and did the same with no better results. Finally emailed support and did receive a prompt reply. My video card is too old to play the game. So be sure your video card meets the specs - 32MB 3D graphics and FULLY DIRECTX 8.1 compatible.

It's a great game for my kid's age as it becomes a little redundant after you've fed, watered and ridden a couple of times. But they don't care. They just change the horse's color or the like and keep on playing!
