Well there is not much to say about this game except the following... ITS A GOOD GAME.but it doesnt work with most pcs I here but I must of got lucky. overal this is a hard game (I beat it with alien easy)but the only reason I played a the alien insted of the predator or marine is my HUGE phobia of face huggers. so I played as the predator through the 2nd level and stopped when it said on the movie"XENOMORPH SPECIMENS ON THE LOOSE". thats right I stopped because of face huggers. But because of common knowlage
I know that there are aliens in the first level so there is a huge posibility of face huggers.but wait if you dont play as the marine you have the danger of turrets(when you turn in a corridor and something shoots you and your instantly dead)but thankfully you can hear them but the face hugger sounds is very creepy(constant tapping but you do not know where it is)
but hey forget about that. I will let you in on a secret.
when playing as predator on REALISTIC MODE A(as in one)cheat

1.turn on cloaking(period)and crouch(ctrl) and just walk up to enemys while still crouching and cloaked just charge up wrist blades (R mouse/hold to charge up,release when attack is desired
and frag(kill) them and pickup energys when Field charge is low. Most FAQs say to use shoulder cannon.WRONGE.Shoulder cannon(plasma caster) almost always misses because humans a slow moving and the predator always underestimates the humans.
2.when you come up to a guy on a ledge useing a grenade launcher backup and switch to spear gun( [ ) move back up and zoom in(Page up) and peg'em in the head.Make sure you hit him the first time or you will have to start over.3.switch to medicomp and use it. Equip the wristblades.jump to the ledge on the left.
proceed to the end of that ledge then jump to the one on the right.get the energy recharge and jump down.4.repeat #1.
5. do #1 till you come across an elevator next to a waterfall
turn of cloaking and stop crouching.just attack the guy up there and open the door.if you did all of these steps correctly you got
shotgun speargun(pigsticking)access cheats by going to main menu and right above exit should be cheat options

note this cheat is only for levels you have beaten NORMALY.This is of you cheaters out there who try to find the easy way.
bye the way say yes to if this review was helpful

Scariest game ever

AvP is a great game. When I first played it, I had to stop playing it late at night---it made it too hard to sleep. This game still gives me nightmares if I play it before bed.

Three FPS games in one, each requiring different skills to survive. As you fight your way through the levels, you come across different creatures---the alien drones, the alien pretorians, the alien queen, the predalien, (an alien/predator cross,) and the xenoborg.

I do have some quibbles, though. For some reason the frame rates get worse the longer I play. I have to reboot to correct this. I don't have this problem with Quake. Also, sometimes walls aren't as solid as they appear---Aliens can sometimes attack you through walls, or fall through walls when you kill them. Sometimes you can clear a room, leave it, come back, and the aliens have magically reappeared. Not exactly fair, but in line with the way they seemed to come from nowhere in the movies.

fun game

It's not one of my favorites, but I did enjoy playing it. It's certainly worth the money you'd spend.

Aliens versus Predator is an okay game. Not the best. Not the worst. If you love Aliens [like me] buy it. If you love sci-fi, buy it. If you love FPS, buy it. If you just like shooting things, buy it. If you aren't one of the four above, I wouldn't buy it.

This game has great graphics, great gameplay, and even stays true to the Aliens Movie. Marines in this Gold Edition can now have twin pistols John Woo Style and even a Skeeter Launcher
(A rocket launcher that shoots a wall rebounding disc) This is a must buy for fans of the Alien movies. With a sequel to this game labeled Aliens vs. Predator 2 coming out soon, it's predecessor is still fun and entertaining for all gamers.

I played this game for about 6 months strait before i got bored with it. It has sweet movies and the graphics are just perfect if u have a good computer. For all u people with good video cards and fast computers this is the game u want. And like other people have said it takes time to be good....it took me about a month of playing on the internet which is the only way i play it and in that month i became a pro. The Aliens are cool because they can heal by eatting died bodys or eating a head of a dude WHEN HES ALIVE. The marine takes time because u have to find all the weopons and u need to find ammo and health when u need it, but they have the best fire power in the world. I love pred because they have a vision mode for every race so u can see your enemy all the easly. For all u people with time on your hands and love everything about aliens this is it dudes. Some of the bad things is that it takes 400 MB of room and well.....i cant think of anything bad really.Ohh well the controls are easy once u learn to use them..and if u dont like them u can change them to what ever u like. This game gave me 6 months of fun so i would go get it if i were u. :)))

BEST GAME EVER CREATED!

AvP is the best game I have ever played, and I have played shoot'em down games since I was 6 years old. The graphics are terrific, and several scenes in the game are staight out of the movies. The marine has a wide array of unbeatable weapons, and in my opinion, the most fun to play. The Predator is very fun to play, because you can be invisible, and sneak up on marines. The alien is quite fun because you can climb around on walls. Each species is unique, and awesome. You must get this game. THERE IS ONLY ONE DOWNSIDE TO THIS GAME! There aren't enough levels. I finished all the levels, and was very depressed that the magic was over. But it did take a while to finish them all. This is an AWESOME GAME!

When I first heard that this game was in development, I thought that it probably wouldn't live up to it's expectations. Boy was I wrong. This game has it all. You get to choose between 3 differnet species with different abilities, different weapons, and completely different styles of play. The graphics in this game are stunning to say the least. The gameplay ROCKS. The sound is incredible. This game is just an overall God. I would recommend this game to anybody! It's well worth the money!!

Brilliantly conceived, but too difficult

The Marine levels contain the most terrifying experiences I've ever experienced in an FPS game. Unfortunately, there is no warm-up to get used to the movement and weaponry - you have to be skillful from the start or die, even on the lowest difficulty setting. It's especially frustrating to try to figure out how to be sparing with your ammo as you advance through the level - since the Aliens respawn in random locations, you can't dawdle long enough to figure out the level. So you have to know the level already to get through it. Even with a walk-through guide (I was COMPLETELY lost before I found one), it's too hard to figure out.

The Predator is a little easier, but he has so much equipment - various vision modes, weapons, a cloak, and more - that it takes a long time to learn to use effectively.

The Alien is the hardest to control (especially since you have to hold down the Crouch key the whole time you cling to a wall or ceiling), but his missions are what finally sucked me into the game. It requires subtlety and finesse, but it's extremely fun when you learn to stalk your victims and drain their life force. Also, while the storyline is minimal, it's clear that the Aliens have a legitimate beef with the humans - which elevates the appeal of the role beyond mere cruelty.

Drawbacks are many - all three characters are WAY too hard to learn to play well, which makes the limited game-saving all the more frustrating. Along the same lines, the cheat codes are so limited and improperly integrated into the program that they're virtually unusable. It's as if the programmers want to stand over our shoulders and "tsk" at us for playing the game the "wrong" way. If it's not "fair" to save your game too often, isn't that MY call, as the player, to make?

Finally, the engine is clunky and the animation choppy - especially that of the alien's attacks from the alien's perspective.

They fixed these and other problems with AvP2, which I haven't picked up yet - I'll try to master this one first. I gave this game a full 4 stars because even with all these problems, the game is still one of the most compelling I've ever played. I'm already in love with playing the Alien, even though I haven't mastered it at the Training level. The majority of players will probably prefer the Predator. But that's the beauty of it - out of the three roles, at least one of them will probably win your heart if you love heart-pounding action...

Yumm Yumm ...

Yes, the AI is linear - but that's okay. Learn how to use the Alien special 'weapon' - the retractable mouth - and munch away on cowering tech's. Yep - at first it's a bit creepy, but after a bit, it gets to be fun.

Not a game for youngsters - you really do have to enjoy getting 'wet' to enjoy.

Not as simplistic as Unreal Tournament - too bad there is not a multiplayer feature.
