Great Game!!

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 19 / 23

You really get a feel for what Charles must have been thinking when he put Snoopy behind the imaginary controls of a Sopwith Camel.

The game can get surprisingly tough as you advance to higher levels and some mission objectives were not very clear the first time around. I had to fly around a few times until I figured out what I was supposed to do. Overall the game is a blast.

It's your very first platformer game, Charlie Brown.

Remember the timeless newspaper comic "Peanuts" featuring Good Ol' Charlie Brown ? Well, this time these guys are starring in their very first platformer video game for Playstation 2 !

This game happens to take place in the dreams of Charlie's multifaceted pet beagle Snoopy. Snoopy dreams that he's a WWI flying ace with his trusty plane, The Sopwith Camel. As you play Snoopy in the "Campaign" mode, filled with various missions, you get to pilot him as you fly your way towards his main objective: to locate his archnemesis, the Red Baron. Not only you get to fly the plane, thanks to pilot training from Marcie, but you also get to buy upgrades from Pigpen's shop such as special weapons like a Potato Gun, a Balloon Launcher, a Snow Blower, or a Flaming Boomerang.

The "Dog Fight" mode (no pun intended) lets you and a friend or two to see who's the best pilot with an array of your favorite "Peanuts" characters such as Charlie Brown, Linus, Lucy, Woodstock, Sally, Schroeder, and even the Red Baron himself.

With impressive graphics capturing the feel of the world of "Peanuts" and some nice-sounding character voices to boot, "Snoopy vs. The Red Baron" is one game your whole family will enjoy. (Even if the game is rated "E10+" like "Codename: Kids Next Door".)

My kids have had this game now for a couple of months and they love it. Not too easy and not too hard plus I found nothing objectionable in it. Very clean game.

Amazingly solid action game "despite" being about Snoopy

This is the only game that my wife and I both enjoy to the same degree. She likes it because it's a Peanuts game... I like it because it is a very well-designed arcade airplane shooter. The music in particular is fantastic. The game is not as challenging as some hard-core gamers might like, but it did keep my attention for many hours and even now that I've finished it, I still find myself going back to earlier levels to see if I can improve. I recommend it especially for households that have a mix of "action" and "fluffy bunny" gamers.

This game is pretty darn fun! Don't let the "E for Everyone" rating fool you, though: some levels can be pretty challenging. The best part of the game definitely has to be the dogfighting feature, where you can either team up with a buddy to shoot down AI bad guys, or go head-to-head against a friend to see who's the better flyer.

I PURCHASED THIS FOR MY 18-YEAR-OLD SON WHO IS VERY INTERESTED IN FLYING. HE ENJOYS THIS GAME AND HAS TOLD ME IT IS QUITE CHALLENGING. HE FLYS REMOTE CONTROL MODEL AIRPLANES, AND WHEN THE WEATHER IS NOT RIGHT FOR FLYING, HE CAN ALWAYS FLY WITH THIS GAME.

Fun game for my 6 year old and challenging also. We hesitated because of the E10+ rating but everything is pretty tame no worse than watching Bugs Bunny cartoons growing up. The flying has been a lot of fun and he keeps coming back to this game even though we just got a Wii.
