Actually this isn't from the same team who did the original Spyro games on the PS1. This one is developed by Universal Interactive.

The original Spyro games on the PS1 were done by Insomniac Games. Insomniac's new game is Ratchet & Clank. You may want to check it out.

So now Insomniac is competing against its original creation - ironic, isn't it?

I highly recommend it!

Just finished paying Spyro again and it's better and better everytime. I got it for my son, but I think I've been playing it a lot more than he has. I think the graphics are great and so is the handling of the game. Some people complain about it but I don't have any complaints. My son likes the "cool" things Spyro gets to ride. His favorite is the surfboard. I really like the various breath choices he has. In conclusion, it's a great game. Get yours.

Very Poorly Made

This game is a waste of time and lacks a good story line and has very little adventure. Spyro used to be a cute, funny, and feisty dragon. Now, he is a plump, lazy, slow, and lacks creative energy. This game has huge glitches such as: slow loading, swimming in air, poor camera angels, Spyro trying to climb walls without ladders. YOu would at least think there would be more levels (or portals) than just the 9 that are there. The characters are not exciting or well drawn; they look creepy and lack humor. This game is boring, and the first three games were 1000 times better. To be honest, I think Nintendo 64 games have better graphics and better story lines. many of the scenes will freeze in the middle of play. This is very frustrating to the player. The music is very child like and does not fit with Spyro. Bringing Ripto back shows the producers are not expanding the games imagination. This game is very expensive to buy, but honestly, not even worth the money it costs to RENT it. The 3rd game I bought for $15, and it is much more exciting. A buyer would hope that the 4th game would be higher in technology. I love Spyro and I am a big fan. But, seriously, this game is practically the worst game I have ever played. The producers should not have been so eager to get the next game out, simply to make money. They should have waited until they had created a game that would have been better than the previous 3.

Ok if it's cheap

i bought this game for $50.00. i don't think it's even worth $30! only buy this game if it's cheap. i loved the first three spyro games, but this one's just not as good.

Solid gameplay in the Spyro tradition

Spyro delivers the expected gameplay, although the graphics may not be as 'next-gen' looking as other titles. Tends to slow down at times, but overall, a good, wholesome experience.

Ok I Guess

Loved Spyro, in all the previous forms. While the graphics are pretty, they come at the expense of game play. First, the game is EASY! Riptoc's revenge had many tricky puzzles and skill challenges that kept the game interesting for all ages. If any of the bad guys kill you in this game, you probably forgot to hit pause. Also, 45 second loads between screens! And there appear to be at least three bugs in the game, where you are racing the bad guys, and go from fourth, to third, to third, to third... can't win and therefore will not be able to finish the game???

All in all, it is intersting to play a new spyro game, but the flaws are colossal. Finish it and break out one of the PS1 games.

amazing!

If it's like any of the previous Spyro games, it's gotta be one of the best PS2 games you can buy.

Good, but the previous ones were better

This game has it's good point and it's bad points. The graphics look good, but the Framerates can sometimes go slow. Gameplay is great and also the mini-games in the levels are fun. However, when the game is loading up a level it takes a very long time.
Also the game is just too short. Spyro 1,2 and 3 took me about a month and a half. This has only taken about 4-5 weeks. All in all, if you are a spyro fan, buy it. But if you are just looking for a good 3rd person action gameJak and Daxter would be a better buy.

This Game Rocks

This game is the best game I've ever played on playstation 2! I got this game for christmas (it was only $39) and I was so exited. It's wicked how you have to catch the dragonflies with the bubble breath and the other cool eletric and ice breaths. At the moment I'm up to the level Honey Marsh and I've caught 52 dragonflies. My favourite level so far is Cloud 9. The bear guys are so cute! The graphics on this game are fantastic too! the idea of the game is to catch all 90 dragonflies before Ripto does. The only down thing about this game is that there is only one world (The Dragonfly Realms) and only nine levels (Dragonfly Dojo, Cross Circle Country, Luau Island, Cloud 9, Monkey Monastry, Honey Marsh, Theives Den, Jurasic Jungle and the place where you fight Ripto) But apart from that I love this game and I highly recomend you to buy it.
