This game is awful, even for Survivor fans...

DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!!!
I doubt Infogrames could have done a worse job than they did with this one. For starters, the gamplay is ridiculously boring. All you do is walk around and say random things to the other castaways. This is supposed to affect alliances and tribal council votes, but the votes are completely random. I had an "alliance" with four other survivors, and I got unanimously voted out. The challenges are either extremely easy or just impossible. If you are a true survivor fan, save yourself the torture of this game and stick to the show.

only if your a fan of the show

This is a good program but if you are not a fan of the show I wouldnt get it. What I didnt like was the part when they talk to each other. It is canned typed speech. If you are a fan of the show get it.

Terrible-actually get no point/star

I have no word with this one. The title doesn't show much of the meaning of this game. Check it out at Gamespot and you'll, never recommend for anyone, even the one who really likes the show.

Pretty, but boring

This game is fun to look at, with several actual clips from the show and some nice graphics. But there's precious little exciting about it. You have to wait up to a minute for every section of the game to download, which is a huge drag. And even though you are able to fine-tune your relationships with the other players it makes little difference in the tribal council voting -- characters that you are supposed to have an alliance with will vote you off anyway. Plus, for some reason my cursor doesn't work during the survival and challenge periods, which makes it sort of difficult to play. But these aspects of the game are boring anyway, and the challenges are similar to simple kiddy video games. Buy this game only if you are dying of curiosity.

I was SO disappointed!

I'm a HUGE Survivor fan - and gung-ho for Macintosh... so when I heard two of my favorite things were combined, I was psyched. I pre-ordered a copy of "Survivor" that very day.

It took me almost 2 months to *get* a copy - but that's another story. I received it on Christmas Eve and sat down to play a game. I was horrified. The graphics were a mess and communication between players was unrealistic. Needless to say, I packed it up and returned it the very next day. Serious changes need to be made! I wouldn't buy a copy for my worst enemy.

Great Title

Is Thursday at 8 p.m. eastern on your weekly calendar? Are you involved in a pool at work and talk about who got voted off around the water cooler. Can't get enough of the Survivor mania? Then this is the game for you. Did you think maybe Elizabeth was the better bet to win the million bucks? Well you get the chance to play her as well as the other members, or even create your own. Se if you can outwit, outplay, and outlast everyone else. Be warned though, if you do, the million bucks is only virtual and your bank might not honor the check.

Disappointed Survivor Fanatic

Ok, this game has major problems, but I've got one that takes the cake. I was playing the game, easily beating the other tribe in the pre-merge state. It got to the point where we outnumbered them seven to four. At the sixth immunity challenge, we beat them once again. So, when it was time to merge, imagine my surprise when one of the members from the other tribe was somebody they had voted out back in the second round. Resurrecting members is something that should NOT be happening in Survivor. What do they think this is, Big Brother 3?

No wonder this title was late

This game was obviously in no shape to be released when it was scheduled to, and I am not even sure it is now.

I am a big fan of the show, and I have to say that i had a hard time having fun with this game. The challenges tend to be tedious, and not really anything like the ones on the show, and the interaction with the other players is unsatisfactory. My tribe came into the merge with a majority after some nice challenge wins. Yet I was unable to convince them to vote as a block after the merge (no problem before), meaning the other tribe easily took us out one by one.

The game has the obvious feel of a pc game that has been converted, with no real mac feel at all. None of the standard mac commands such as save, quit and so forth work. The interface then feels sub-standard. Even more interesting, the indexing started about half-way through the game because I walked off to get a snack, and there was no way to get back to the finder to shut it off, making my gameplay very choppy. In addition, I found no way to save the game half-way through, which means you have to play the entire game in one sitting. After a couple of hours, with the indexing problem running through challenges which meant I kept losing, I just quit the game, and never came back to it again.

So from an avid fan who had been loking forward to this game for quite a while, I have to say beware of this one. I bought another MacSoft title a couple of days earlier, Tropico, and I went back to it instead of torturing myself further with this one.

I don't know about you but i loved Survivor 1 and 2. The best real show on tv. Amazon has helped me realize that this game will be exactly like the tv show. You can pick from 32 characters from survivor 1 and 2 or create your own contestant. They also have included the reward and immunity challanges. I think these will be fun and challenging. Just like on the show after every 3 days you will have to vote a member of your group off. that is why you must pick certain members of the team to form alliances with. I believe this game requires Strategy and intelligence. So if you are a fan of survivor buy this game. It will be a great adventure.

AWFUL~~~~

Slow, Boring .. in a word .. AWFUL! I am a big Survivor fan and a big Mac person and my whole family hated this game! Don't waste your money! Like a previous reviewer, I pre-ordered and then WAITED and WAITED. When it finally arrived I could not have been more disappointed. So much could have been done with this game that wasn't. It's a shame.
