I hate War in real life, now I hate it in Video Games too.

Seriously, this was just bad.

Let me start off by saying, I am a huge Star Wars fan. I had been excited about this game for months now, especially considering how much fun Bounty Hunter turned out to be, but this was just dissapointing in every way possible.

First off, while the writing and characterization is decent, the voice acting is horrendous. I want to beat Obi Wan with a stick he sounds so bad. Bounty Hunter they put alot of work into, they had all the crew from the movie in it, even an actor from The Shawshank Redemption for one of the bad guys, I mean alot went in to it. For as long as The Clone Wars took to come out on PS2, this sounded like it was done in ten minutes.

The gameplay is decent, but again really straightforward, and the entire game can be finished in probably two hours. The music is of course good, thank god for John Williams, but that might be the one saving grace of this game. The ending.

I wouldnt recommend getting this ever. If you're a serious Star Wars fan, maybe rent it, although six bucks might be alot for this thing.

Buggy, choppy

I think this was a good idea, but they tried to do too much. The framerate is pretty bad, ok as a rental.

Lame!

I got this game and I thought "Hey it's Star wars." Well you can only play as a jedi ( which is cool but it could been better if you can as a clone trooper like battlefront) and other stuff.Don't but in buy or rent it.If you want a Star Wars game that you can play as a trooper buy Battlefront or BattlefrontII.There WAY BETTER!!

I bought a $45 used version of this game and when my grandson opened it, inside was a Harry Potter game, not the Star Wares Clones game I thought I had purchased. That really felt like a serious rip off and hopefully I can count on Amazon's return policy to get me a credit...but nothing will change the look of disappointment on my grandson's face when he opened it.

It seems to me, with very rare exception, that for the last ten years, 80% of the Star Wars games that are released are all (basically) clones of the old 'Rebel Assault' PC title. Dress them all up anyway you want, but when all's said and done, you're really playing the same game.

You will have several different vehicles to pilot as well as being on foot, but the whole game's plot is essentially the same: finish the level as fast as you can without getting killed ... that's it. There's not a lot of strategy involved past that, that's about it. Frustrating part is, they could have stuck to the mold and still added a little variety. For example, how about letting us pilot one of those AT-ATs for a little while?

The one thing that I had hoped may be a saving grace would be the animated cut-scenes between levels, but even they were a little sub-par. Aside from the animation being (at best) average, there were too few of them. Even the ending animation scene was only about a minute or two! I finished the game and that's all I'm rewarded with?

I'll also answer the question that I know at least a few of you have. No ... this game will not lend any hints to what may be ahead in the new Episode III and does nothing to advance the plot of the prequel trilogy. They may have been able to sell a few more titles if this game was a little more tied to the plot of the movies. The recently released 'Enter the Matrix' game as a terrific example to what I'm talking about. On a side note, it was nice though to see an old character from the comic books named Ulric Qel-Droma make an appearance.

So, as been stated before, if you liked Rebel Assault (I or II), Starfighter, Bounty Hunter, and Jedi Starfighter ... etc etc ... then this is probably going to be right up your alley. One the other hand, if (like me) you're getting a little burned-out on this style of play, this isn't going to do ANYTHING for you.

Only so-so

My husband has rented this game, and I have watched him playing it for a week. He says that the aerial pursuits are hard to steer (not very manueverable). I have noticed in the game some bugs in the level where you are playing as OB-1 Kenobi racing on a speeder bike, the music weirds out and also you ride right through the environment when you would not expect to. Then there are areas in which you do not..my husband says, "Lame". The objectives in this level, and some of the other levels are unclear. As for the graphics, I am sure they could have done much better! The characters are stiff and unlife like, and the voice overs are only so-so. The amount of enemies you must destroy and the amount of objectives in any level can be overwhelming, my husband says, "It's just too busy". I wasn't inerested in playing it because it looks rather repetitive to me, all you do is aerial pursuit, small amount of ground combat then more aerial pursuit. Not very imaginative. And the environments are pretty boring. The cut scenes where the story unfolds, the characters are so stiff and unlife like it is pretty sad. The graphics are also jumpy in the cut scenes.

We reccomend buying Star Wars Bounty Hunter instead of this one for enjoyment factor. ...

Your average game.

This game is simply O.K. The graphics are lame, and so is the plot. I would talk about it, but I know there are some people who just want to discover. Only the gameplay is good. The multiplayer is just weird. My final opinion: rent it first.

Bad. Just bad

A weak clone of starfighter, rebel assault, etc. They make the package look better than the game. I would pass on this one.

Good Game As A Rental - 10-year-old completed in 3 evenings

I bought Star Wars Clone Wars (ps2) for my 10-year-old son. While he does love the game he was able to complete it in only 3 evenings. He said it was easy but did have places where it was difficult. I realize this game is rated teen but he's played almost all the teen rated Star Wars PS and computer games. This one was the easiest for him. The redeeming aspect of the game is that it has two player games. He and his 8-year-old sister are really enjoying the two player games. I was personally very disappointed with the game because he was able to complete so easily and quickly. Unless you are into the two player aspect of the game, I'd save some money and just rent it.
