Street Fighter II was the game that practically invented fighting games, and Capcom celebrates it's 15th anniversary with this compilation disc. There's Hyper Street Fighter II, which is basically all the different versions of SFII combined, so, for example, who could have the Super SFII Ryu against SFII Champion Blanka, etc. Then there's Street Fighter III: Thrid Strike, which is the best of the SFIII games. Beware though, as only the most experienced SF gamers can possibly learn all the combos and parries to succed. Also included the SFII anime movie, but it's the censored english dubbed version so if you didn't like the american voice actors you won't like them here either (personally I thought they were all right). Anyway-bottom line is this is a great collection although it would have been nice if they had included some more games and bonus features. As it stands though, if you consider yourself an avid Street Fighter player, then by all means get this game!

I was absolutely thrilled when I found this little gem hidden in the cyber world...I hadn't played SFII for over 10 years and I missed it...it's just like I remember :) Yay! The SFIII or whatever is interesting...it's a bit short for one player(arcade) mode...but still fun. I'm very pleased with my copy of "Street Fighter Anniversary Collection"

There are many fighting games out there, but frankly few come close to emulate the technical finesse required to play Street Fighter 3 or 2. Both of which are included here. Sadly the one player mode of Street Fighter 2 is so hard as to be almost unplayable. But the silky smooth visuals of Street Fighter 3 more than make up for it.

A must buy for the fighting game hardcores.

A must for all Street Fighter Fans...

"Street Fighter: Anniversary Collection" is a fitting tribute for one of the greatest fighting game platforms every made. The player gets a chance to pick between the Street Fighter II platform, including every possible variation of the characters within that engine, or the Street Fighter III engine, with all the characters from the arcade faithfully redone to home entertainment.

I must admit, I wish there was a way to combine the characters from II and III, but playing Zangief from Special Edition is good enough for this Street Fighter old schooler....

Lots of characters, not as much fun.

I'd like to think of myself as a collector so I will review this not only on fun but I'll review the game's technicalities. The best thing about this game is what it appears to be, the game itself is not well put together, for a collector's item this is very cheap. The main screen is lame and boring, they took more time back in the day presenting the game and making you excited to play, then. The difficulty in this game is just plain RIDICULOUS! They do not want you to have a good time playing against the computer unless you choose the below novice level and lets face it, everyone who's ever played Street Fighter knows that the game is only worth playing for the endings.

Third stryke is a nice bonus to this, it's not awesome, but after getting my butt kicked so harshly it was refreshing to go and not lose as much on Third Stryke. It's got some secrets which is nice, and a whole bunch of new people (to me at least!).

They didn't put any effort improving the game, Mortal Kombat did a much better job at sharpening their graphics for MK1, MK2 and UMK3 when they re-released them as part of their expansion packages. If you have lots of patience and enjoy hitting start when the continues come up as often as they do, then go for it! I didn't have a good experience with the game but at least I can say I have it, even if it's just sitting with my other unplayed games.

smexy game that any competetive SF guru would enjoy

A lot of reviewers fault this because of the beastly AI of the SFII 1-player mode. If you ask me the AI is acceptable. You just have to get used to it. 2-days of playing on Easy-Medium and I was surviving on Hardest. The extras are note-worthy. The SFII movie was pretty good, the only downside to the movie is not being able to fast forward or rewind. SFIII: Third Strike is just as good as I remembered it when I played it for Dreamcast years back. Only the graphics are crispier and the sound is sharper. Overall, I give this game an A++.

I used to like playing this game years ago at home or at the arcade, so it was great to get it again. Fun to pick up and play now and again.

I've always liked the street fighter series, and i like the direction SF3 is taking, but the story line could be a lil bit better. The story is not as good as alpha 3 or the street fighter 2 series, but some dont really play for story do they. The fighting is where the game stands out. I like the new parrying system in sf3, though im still trying to get used to it. I did dislike the fact you cant use all your super moves at will, you basicly pick one when you select your character, so sometimes the move can get a little repetative. The street fighter 2 series is also done well, with every street fight 2 game ever made (besides the moded ones). Plus you also get the street fighter animated movie thrown in for good measure. So for everything you get with this collection the game is a steal. It's worth every penny, especially for the price its going for. I hope my review was helpful
