THE WORST GAME I EVER PLAYED!

1 Rating: 1, Useful: 3 / 5

Now, Im not saying I hate Streetball, but this game makes Streetball look like Sesame-Ball. I bought this game last year for fun, but this game is bull. I wish I bought NBA LIVE 2003! Street hoops doesn't let you create teams and is too easy. I was the Knights and I crushed Baltimore and they had Lil Romeo, all my players were at 50 just to give a challenge and I won 51-0! Its impossible to block but so easy to steal. The movies are pretty good. After a while though, the music in the back gets dumb. I used to be addicted to "Roll-out" but now im not. Seriously, you can bet on games on how many points you can win, but its dumb. Some features I like for example: buying your clothes and bling bling. Haircuts look so fake, doesn't even sway one bit. It's stuck to their heads. I RECOMMEND, SAVE YOUR MONEY

Big Letdown

As a lover of Street, I was very excited to hear about this game and bought it immediately. To my surprise, its not even a tenth as good. This game is five on five with only street players (i had a feeling that was coming, with no NBA endorsement on the cover) and boring backdrops. There is just too much going on on the court in order to really have fun with street style moves. I also think the arial attack could be made more interesting. It plays like a generic basketball game with the addition of ankle breaking moves, which is a big step down from NBA Street, which was more like the Arcade NBA Jam style of ballin'. I returned this game after a day, and bought Slugfest instead. At least I can punch gayrod now.

Worst game I've ever played

This is seriously the worst game ever made. It plays like a ... version of NBA Live 2002, only it ... way more. ... .... The graphics are bad, the sound is bad, and game play is bad. I rented this game from Blockbuster, then took it back to them and demanded a different game it was so bad. Don't even rent it if it's free.

if you gonna create a game that is for the urban youth then maybe ya'll should talk to some of us before making it. street basketball is nothin like this game. the shot blockin aint realistic and the crossovers are faker than gold painted teeth. thats not even all of it, the graphics aren't that hot and the player movement is jagged. the soundtrack is iight, DMX is my dog and meth and redman are off da heezy but some recent music would have been tight. and what is up with the jay-z look alike on the game cover?

Good intentions with bad graphics

The graphics weren't the best. It didn't measure to the original street hoops, "NBA Street." The players were too small to enjoy the fancy moves they did on the court.

fun if slightly forgettable

After reading some harsh reviews of this game I expected the worst, however, I can honestly say Street Hoops is actually pretty decent. Even fun at times.

While it won't win any awards for depth or simulation, Hoops is a quick game to get into and provides a solid challenge. This is "urban" b-ball, complete with attitude, rap music, and street fashion. At least this is Activision's version of ghetto ballin', so take it all in stride.

I found myself turning off the annoying announcer and the trash talking, as both of these become played out in a matter of 2 or 3 games. Probably more like 1 game, first half.

The action/graphics look good, and the dunks are phat as well.

All in all this game is decent.

this game is okay

This game is okay. I wouldnt suggest it if you are looking for a good basketball game. I would suggest "NBA Street". That game is better!

Some things bother me about the game.

Now having the game for about 3 weeks, there are some things that I think should be, or should have been taken care of.
The game is pretty fun and all but the one main thing that really throws me is that create a player mode. What the ... is the point of the mode if you cant even create your players name? Im not joking. I had a few great names ready, for example: MAD MEASTRO, MASSACRE, EPSILON and ICE PAK. Cool huh? But anyway, i thought that was pretty much the main factor.
Why are there even teams on this game. No one is designated on a team, meaning everyone in the game is a free agent. So much for having a favorite team. Also, why is it that you have to create 8 players at once in order to have money to support them all? I hate that.
WHy couldn't ALL of the players have their own moves? THat would be good. Im sorry for complaining, but why do you keep having to buy clothes over and over to edit your teams, excuse me, players look? Sometimes you check and see that your players looks are totaly out of whack. Very frusterating.
Once again, im sorry for complaining. THose are just the things that bother me and Im sure im not the only one who saw this and didnt like it.

Solid Game

THIS GAME IS PHAT. THE HIPHOP MUSIC ALONE MAKES THIS GAME SOLID. THE CONTROLS ARE THE SAME AS TO NBA LIVE, THE GRAPHICS ARE DECENT, NBA STREET IS BETTER. NO NBA PLAYERS BUT YOU CAN CUSTOMIZE YOUR SQUAD INCLUDING NAMEBRAND CLOTHING, BUY JEWELRY, AFROS OR CLEAN SHAVE, NO SHIRT. THE COMPUTER IS TOUGH, YOU CAN'T JUST GO AROUND AND DUNK IT VERY TIME. HOWEVER, BLOCKING SEEMS TRICKY TO MASTER. U CAN SHOVE, PUSH PLAYERS AND THEY WON'T LOSE THE BALL. YOU CAN MAKE BETS ON YOUR GAMES. GREAT GAME TO PLAY WITH OTHER PLAYERS, BUT I WOULD RECOMMEND RENTING IT FOR A WEEK FIRST.

A little bit of everything

Thisa game is awesome. I was a little weary of buying it at first, but once I started playing it, I couldn't put it down. My wife isn't a big fan of it, and I get an attitude from her when I try to show her the cool videos they have of the streetballers. I love it. Unlock the videos on the game, and sit back and enjoy some talented basketball players. People compare it to NBA Street, but I think these are two different games. NBA Street is a little too "cartoony" for my taste. The only drawback on Street Hoops, is the announcers. I just turn them off.
