This Collection has Age of Empires 1 and 2, and their expansions. Age of Empires is an award winning game that would provide hours of entertainment. It features more than 12 civilizations, multiplayer support, map editor, and many campaigns and scenarios. The Computer AI is very smart and it makes the game challenging. So buy this collection and start playing against the computer or upto 8 players over the internet, modem, network, or serial connection. This is the best game ever made. Have fun.

I Live to Play Age of Empires

This is the best set of games ever. I have been playing them for years.I even bought a brand new, not really needed, computer so I could better play Age III and War Chiefs. I have a core 2 duo 2.13 ghz intel with a gt7600 256 mg video card, 1 gig 667ddr2 ram. This computer plays the game great and so does my old amd athlonxp 1.4ghz 32mb video card, 512mb ddram. The games also play well on a Dell Dimensions 1100 celeron D we have. But, they plays best on the 1st two computers. I find a video card, even the 32mg one makes the games play better.

The game scenery has so many variations, I for one never get tired of them. I find the more I play them the more I can perfect strategies to defeat my opponent. I call these game my second childhood. I like them better than other similar games I have tried. These are uncomplicated, but still take a bit of thinking. And, it is so much fun to command your own, very realistic looking army. I would give these games 6 stars if I could.

Good game, but not for windows vista.

This Age of Empires Collectors Edition is overwhelming and definitely noteworthy! It comes with the primary Age of Empires game and The Rise of Rome expansion, and it also comes with Age of Empires II The age of Kings and The Conquerors expansion for an economical expense! Purchasing this merchandise will be a sagacious transaction.

Age of Empires - Get them all!

The first title from the Age Of Empires series that I've played was Age of Empires 2.

I was always wondering how the first Age of Empires was, and evolved into the title that I was playing. So, I am very happy to own the Collector's Edition. You can play all the series, plus an audio cd with music pieces from the games.

One of the best moments is when I play online on the Zone. The Zone is free, no monthly fee is required if you own the original and I find it lag-free to play a 3 vs 3 players game from an ISDN-64K line.

The best choice I've ever made in strategy game in a great price pack with a fast multiplayer server!

A must have

This game features 4 games: Age of Empires, Age of Empires the Rise of Rome Expansion, Age of Empires II the age of Kings, and The Conquerors expansion. These have to be my 4 all time favorite games. You must buy this pack, for this low price.

I first played AOE when it came out as a beta for Microsoft employees. I instantly fell in love with the style of play, and when it came out, bought the complete game immediately. It is a strategy game, where one must raise his civilization and destroy all other players. You have a wide variety of civs' to choose from, including the Greeks, the Yamato, and the Phoenicians, each with it's own bonuses and specialties. Each attacking unit has its specialties too, as each are rated in attack, range, armor, and piercing armor (to defend against missile weapons). This creates a very complicated feel, making the game fun for everyone.

The rise of Rome is the expansion for the Age of Empires, meaning you need AOE installed for this to work. It has many improvements that will keep you playing this game. Now you can queue units, so you don't have to keep on pressing the build unit button right after a unit is trained. There are some new civs too, including Rome itself. This game is not as important as the first game in the series, but is a very good addition.

The Age of Kings takes place after Rome has fallen, with (almost) all new civs and technologies. You'll battle with the Britons, the Chinese, and the Turks, each with its own unique unit and special civ bonuses. The strategy in this game is wonderful, as the scenario builder is very improved, adding many triggers and other things. There are also many good campaigns that you can set upon, from the heroic efforts of Joan of Arc to the conquest of Genghis Khan.

The Conquerors adds a few more of those complex civs, the Aztecs, the Mayans, the Spanish, and the Koreans. There are many different campaigns, including the battles of the conquerors, a string of scenarios that are related to real battles. The triggers in these scenarios are superb. The scenario building is also very easy, contributing to a great overall game play. I got this game and I love it still. I like the multiplayer strategies that are intrigued by all the bonus changes. These changes have made a more complex and fair game. To play the game, you must have the original Age of Kings (Age of Empires II) on your installed. Since I played AOK The Conquerors, I realized that I couldn't live without the special features that were not in the original AOK or AOE.

Overall, this is a great pack to get, good for days, weeks, maybe months of fun before all campaigns are beaten. Then you can play death Matches and Random maps until you master those, and after that you can play on the Internet against people from around the world. This package deserves a 5 1/2 stars out of 5.

I am rating this for my son. He thinks it is a great game, loves it and can't wait to play it. As for me personally, I think he gets too caught up in this game and is unable to think of anything else. He is only allowed to play short periods of time, but with only those short periods, his grades in school went down. So I would not recommend this game for non-adults.

great game, can't stop playing

OK, I'm not the one that actually plays this game but I gave it five stars because my husband can't stop playing the game. I purchased Age of Empires from Amazon for Christmas for my hubby (thanks Amazon for such quick shipping.)He has had as much fun as a kid on it.
