I love these games, I've played these games when I was 4 yrs old. This have the original 2600 classics and the Arcade versions too. The 2600 versions I like the most. If you're looking for Atari games, you should buy this.

It's worth every penny

Just to put it clear

The thing with games that are not listed here, is not like they aren't atari games, they were but, after the video game crash of 1983, well there are other companies that bought the rights of the games that were rightfully theirs, as activision did with demon attack and atlantis, the games belonged to a company named imagic that couldn't stay in the market after the crash and activision bought the rights for those games, and well, Activision was the only survivor of the Video Game Crash, for some reasons i won't say here, but well, do your homework and get the info on what happened in 1983.

Have a nice day and i hope it helped.

P.S. If you want to play pac man or the other titles not listed here i suggest you check on the classics of namco, activision, etc to get the other great games you want to play again.

I can say on other thing, the warning of a review listed here is so true, after you see the date on some games (1982 or less), well, you can see that 25 years have passed and well... they where a good 25 years and the good thing is that you're still gaming.

Great if you've forgotten your childhood entirely

When you think of an arcade game you don't think of a cheap Commodore 64-style, blocky cheap game with no graphic-detail. In the early 80's Missile command, Millipede, etc. looked pretty good. I can't believe Atari failed to emmulate their own games and instead made it look like someone pirated the concept but not the accuracy. The warranty for this product says you can't return it if it's been opened. Unfortunately I opened it. And then I played some of the games. Things went downhill from there.

My wife doesn't like me to play violent games like GTA, Max Payne, Halo, etc. but this Atari collection insures I'll be playing them for some time to come.

It is a waste of money!

I can't believe that the grahic is worse than the one I played 20 years ago. It is for collection not for playing.

An observation and question of note.

I don't own this collection, though I may get it. I already have Atari Arcade Hits #1 and two of the Jakks Pacific controllers/games, thinking they might be enough. But I have a question for my fellow members of The Atari Generation.

If I remember right, isn't it correct that in the original Asteroids and Centipede arcade machines, occasionally when the UFO's or Spider appeared, didn't the sound suddenly get twice as loud, and would not stop until either you shot them or they faded off screen? The reason I ask is that this happens in AAH#1, too. Does this happen in the above arcade versions on "80 Games" as well? I want to say it was an unintentional side-effect when Atari put the original machines together, and yet Hasbro left it in on the AAH#1 CD! Does anybody else remember? Nothing important, just trivial!

As a safety precaution, if this "effect" does happen on the "80 Atari games" CD, gamers who are sensitive to sudden changes in sound levels may want to turn these 2 games down.

Now I can show my Grandchildren what we played at the Pizza Hut when we were teenagers!
These games played GREAT on my computer, I had no problems whatsoever. (IBM Clone running Win 98 2nd Edit.)
Don't expect 21st century graphics and sound here, these games are prehistoric in comparison.
A GRET buy at this price!

Hours of fun. Flawless installation. What more can you ask. I never played Black Widow before I found it here. What a wonderful game! Battle Zone was one of my all-time favorites and plays exactly as I remember it. I'm using the games with an X-Arcade dual joystick console. What a combination!

They forgot 2600 Basketball !!!

If you've been waiting for Red Baron keep waiting. The turning doesn't work well with the keys no matter what I try. Hopefully it will work better with a stick. You need to tweek the controls on all the games to get them working the way you want. You can load the whole thing to your drive and play without the disk. It says on the box you don't have to load it and can play it off the disk. Why? So it can wear out my drive?? Feh! I'm ticked they left out 2600 BASKETBALL and Championship Soccer. Double dunk? Never heard of it and it bites. There is a 1 player Combat and a playable prototype of 2600 Tempest. Trekies will like the Sears game Stellar Track. It looks confusing at first but it's like Star Raiders on a grid. Some games like Desert Falcon had much better 7800 versions. Wish they were here.
