Hours and hours of pure enjoyment

A jig saw puzzle and a mystery all rolled into one. I loved it! What isn't mentioned in the directions is to start at level one so you compile all the clues and answers to each level. Time has no concept when doing this puzzle.

Superior fun and learn something too...

This is engrosing, stay-up-all-night fun, the way jigsaw puzzles SHOULD be, along with a tremendously interesting historical tour of the Cathedral, some marvelous characters and a few great puzzles thrown in for kicks.

I bought this for my father, who is disabled and always looking for something to do. He was completely engrossed and this game gave him great play for hours and hours. As you advance through the levels of difficulty, more of the interior of the Cathedral is available for you to explore. There are also many historical facts, video, and games to play once each level is assembled.

I played my dad's copy once and was hooked! Had to go out and purchase one of my own, and I'm giving some out as gifts this year as well. Highly recommended.

Working a computerized puzzle was surprisingly realistic for me. It satisfied that puzzle-solving urge without disrupting my house for a week! I was disappointed in the tray sorting system. I found it rather touchy. My trays keep getting either dumped or combined. I was pleasantly surprised by the exploration phase of the game. It was much more detailed than I expected. There are additional puzzles once you're inside as well as the murder mystery. You do actually feel like you're inside when you look out the windows you just put together! The graphics are very good. I'm anxious to start working the other puzzles.

This is truly a wonderfully conceived and executed software program for the puzzle lover. From the graphic detail to the historical clips, the whole program is fascinating and great fun. Walking around inside the mansion is a blast (especially for me since I was brought up not to snoop around other people's houses....it's not nice!). I just ordered Notre Dame Cathedral today...then the Bavarian Castle...and the Wrebbit web site is talking about the Orient Express coming out in February 2000. I'm hooked. Other reviewers noted the problem with the trays and that is true. You really have to watch where you're clicking. I also made a mistake when doing level one and had to start the whole puzzle all over again. It turned out to be good training, and I learned to be more careful. If you truly love puzzles you will have a hard time finding anything better than Wrebbit 3D.

I really love putting puzzles together but I never have enough work space. The Puzz 3D for the PC is a great idea and lots of fun. I really enjoyed working on this Cathedral and learning the history behind it; things I never knew. If Teachers could only make learning history in the classroom this fun and exciting. I look forward to owning ALL the puzzles for the PC and hope they will create more puzzles soon.

When I received the game and discovered I'd have to solve the same jigsaw puzzle four times, I thought I'd made a bad choice. I was wrong! Each time through is more challenging, but just as much fun as the previous. I love walking through the mansion when it's completed and collecting the story within. The film clips of historical moments and Victorian customs add to the entertainment of putting the puzzle together. If I ever finish the platinum (most difficult) level, I'll be ordering another Puzz-3D game immediately. You should too!

Beware of compatibility problems

Warning: This game was fun until it produced the dreaded "This program has performed an illegal operation..." and aborted. Puzz3D's support technician had no answers. Other 3D games run fine, only this one is unplayable. (My OS is Win98).

This software offers several delightful layers of problem solving. Even if you consider yourself a very good puzzle solver, start with the tutorial and level one and work your way up. This allows you to really get a good feel for the many details and aspects of the 3-D puzzle. Not only do you feel good when you complete construction of the mansion (no matter what level), you then get to go inside the virtual mansion and begin solving the mystery. Each level offers more clues and gives you more access to the many rooms in the mansion. I have had no compatibility problems (Mac OS 8.6). This is a fun, well designed and challenging puzzle.

woe if you have a problem.

I like the visuals for this game and the premise. But the interface is awkward and the technical prowess of the designers is minimal -- they can't even change the video mode for the required 640x480 screen size...

But my largest problem is with their technical support. My game continually crashes in the "exploration phase" of the game and all the pointers sent me to the truly heinous DYAD.com site. So although the game is/would be cool if it worked, I'm not sure it's worth the hassle.
