One of the best games ever!

I don't think I've ever played such a detailed, intense game. I'm pretty sure I've put in atleast 300 hours playing this game. Now the only downside I found was when I brought up the screen for the map, sometimes it froze. So make sure you save often. This game is great!! You can interact with all the characters and pretty much go where ever you want. I really don't know what else to say about this game except that it's probably one of the best I've ever played.

Ok game... until you realize how easy it is...

There are a lot of things about this game that are good... the character generation, the graphics, the scope, and the freedom to explore how you want to. After playing for about 20 hours, I would rate it fairly well except for one thing. I have realized that I will eventually become invincible and the game will become pointless.
This is due to the ability to enchant items. At first, this seemed like a great concept. You can enchant just about anything with any spell you want. Unfortunately, I can see a time not too far off where these enchantments will make my character into more of a God than a man. The only obstacle is getting enough money to pay enchanters to make the items. For those who have not played, it is pointless to go into the specific details.
Therefore, this is a game of only two parts. First, you run around getting enough money to enchant items. Then, once you are invincible, you finish the game.
That being said, it is still a revolutionary game. I give three stars for that.

A good conclusion to Morrowind main quest

Being that Morrowind is one of the best games I've ever played, I thought I would give Tribunal a try. Glad I did. This is not simply a Morrowind redux. Tribunal is smaller and centered around a single city, doesn't allow for much roaming, and doesn't have the variety of creatures, items, factions, and quests as the original game. But for an expansion, it certainly has enough. I thought the Tribunal main quest was quite interesting, especially how the underground parts of the city unfold as you progress and your role in some grand schemes becomes clearer. My warrior character, who started Tribunal at 33rd level, died many, many times, so there shouldn't be any lack of challenge for most gamers. The city itself is beautiful, and the quests more interesting than many of Morrowind's. Tribunal's main quest should be good for about 30 hours of gameplay, and the side quest should add several more. Due to the linear, concluding nature of this expansion, it will not have much replayability for many people. However, considering the current price, the fact that the expansion adds some nice shops and items, and many mods that you can download require Tribunal, this is definitely a worthwhile gaming experience and investment.

Easily the best looking game I've ever played

There's a lot to like about Morrowind, but perhaps my favorite feature is that you can go anywhere and be anyone you want. The world is very large, so large in fact that travel is impractical without using one of the forms of public transportation.

I found that the most fun in the game wasn't following the storyline, but just wandering the countryside looking for adventure.

And the game looks fabulous. I bought a GeForce4 Ti 4400 just for the occasion, but also played on a Gefore2 Ultra and found that it looked almost as good, though the water effects with the Geforce4 were amazing.

Replayability is very high. I played a straight-up fighter my first time through, and never cast a spell. I would simply close with the enemy and beat the bejeebers out of him. I will play the game again as more of a stealth mage type character.

On the downside, the game pauses constantly to load when you're in the wilderness. Once I got the Boots of Blinding Speed, the game would pause about ever 4-5 seconds. Also, I found the ending of the game to be rather dull. You run from town to town trying to gain approval, like some kind of politician.

These are both pretty serious flaws, which just goes to show how good the game is that I would still give it 4 stars.

One more thing... Since I did a lot of exploration and adventuring before jumping into the main quest, encounters in the main adventure ended up being pretty simple. I finished the game at 27th level, but I believe it could be done 8 or 10 levels lower than that.

FANTASTIC in the beginning

The music was nice and the start was very exiting. Bethesda has made a quite good character editor; first filling out your name when a guy asks for it and them filling out your skills when you are going to create a sheet that the legion (military) needs. All this happens in the beginning of the game.
All the graphics are wonderfull! The sea is almost like on video and the trees and everything else is amazing. The NPC's are also looking well.
The story is good because there are so many of them. You can choose innumerable of different quests and which factions to belong to.
The game is a little bit confusing, but OK. The NPCs could have been more intelligent and could have had more things to say to you (I hear that Gothic is much better on this).
Other rewievers say that the performance on this game is not that good and I agree with them. The minimum Mhz is set to 500 but I recommend 1 Ghz.
I had very great expectations to this game, but after some days playing it gets boring. YOu always do the same: recieve a quest, go and complete it (if you can) and return and get some advancement in your faction (I'm a champion in the Imperial Legion). The thing that is VERY good is the construction set, which allows you edit the morrowind world in any way and is easy to use too.
This game IS worth the money.

A True RPG

Morrowind is the single best game I have ever played. You create your own story by chosing name, species, class, etc. You can either decide to follow the games main plot or go on your own quests exploring the vast world in Morrowind. What set's this game appart from other's is that it let's you choose to use almost any object or resource in the game and that affects you accordingly. The more you carry the slower you move etc. If you walk into a city and find a fork on a table you can pick it up. This has the greatest gameplay, graphics and just about any other specification you can think of is exceptional. I truly recommend this game for someone looking for a real game where you create and affect the ending and story by your decisions and not have something happen every once in a while because you reached a checkpoint in the game.

Fun Game...and Extremely Difficult

Being a fan of RPGs like Chrono Cross, Final Fantasy series (except for 7), I heard about this game that was supposed to be very revolutionary, time consuming, and fun. And after I played it, like whoa.

There were some things that were new to me. First of all, this game is not a hack and hit game. This game involves strategy that you've never seen before. In every aspect of this game, strategy is the key, otherwise you'll go no further. In fights, you're accuracy is like literally 30%, thus you have to dodge more than attack often times. The strategy involved and the AI (artificial intelligence) really impressed me. I dare say (sorry to all FF fans), that the AI and strategy of this game was the best I've ever seen.

This game took me about 300 hours to beat. Probably because I spent time beefing up my Argonian, looking for stuff, and powered myself up. Also, I realized the more factions you join, the more time the game extends. All in all, this game requires a lot of time and a lot of patience to beat. Even the best RPGer is not going to beat this game in a heartbeat.

Graphics in this game were splendid. It could easily be seen that this game took full advantage of the power the Xbox had. Whether it was the realistic raindrops seen on the water, seeing the waves of the water, or seeing a smooth transition from day to night, the graphics and presentation was definitely something worth being impressed about.

All in all, this is great RPG. The only reason why I docked this game to 4 notches was because the game was very difficult and the bulk of the game was a bit slow (unless you can afford transportation, you're talking about spending 1-2 hours walking from one town to another). However, the benefits of the game obviously destroys that one minor flaw. If I could, this game should be a 4.5.

For all RPG fans, this is a must-buy. For virtually any gamer, this is a must-buy. The only types of gamer that should hesitate to grab this game is gamers that crave fast-action games or panic games.

Snow, werewolves, and bears

This works fine on my computer. So far the plot could be better, but it's neat watcing the town get built. I had to go back and level up after getting mauled by a polar bear, but I'm looking forward to going back up there now that I've got some GREAT armor in an underwater cave near the south tip of Ebonheart. This expansion is worth it for the weather, textures, wolves, and bears. There are a couple of neat items, too.

I loved this expansion

apparently, the 1st guy to review this isn't much of a morrowind fan. and it is NOT as buggy as he makes it seem. he is judging the game before ANY kind of patch is created. he wants games to be PERFECT the first time, no patches. This game has alot of new content. 2 ways to do one sidequest, a great mainquest, a werewolf sidequest, plus, bethesda has improved dreams, now theyre CUTSCENES. i admit, there are some problems, but werewolfism has yet to be eclipsed by mere bugs. i advise you to buy this, because a wave of usermade mods will probably improve your already awesome experiance.

Looks like a real open ended quest

I am impressed by the game. It is less linear than other games.
I have had it for about a week, and find it quite addictive. The learning curve is not too steep, except for the combat episodes, but even then, it is relatively easy to learn.
The manual however is too sketchy. There is (of course) a book, where I guess the rest of the information is found. I find it very annoying that the software companies keep making a bare bones manual, that almost forces you to have to buy the strategy guide. There used to be a time when the strategy guide was something you got when stumped. Oh well, I guess I'm old.
All in all, one of the best RPG I have played.
