More of the same.

This edition is exactly what it says it is. It is the old games packaged into one. If you liked the older verions of might and magic, then you will probably like this one. Its a good deal since you get two games in one. The game play is decent, you don't expect much from role playing games to begin with. Overall, its a pretty decent buy. It will keep you entertained for a month or two.

A terrific bargain

These are four of my favorite games, which I sadly purchased at full price as each one was released. Part of the attraction of these games is the simplicity of the interface. In all four games, you control a group of characters with a single first-person view. It sounds too simple, but it really works. I have played all four games twice.

The first two games, Might and Magic IV and V, can be combined into one huge game, The World of Xeen. Not only was Might and Magic VI just as large as the World of Xeen, but it introduced their new game engine with greatly improved graphics. MM4 and MM5 were turn-based only, while MM6 and MM7 are realtime with the option to switch to turn-based at any time. These games are highly addictive. You will always want to play just a little bit longer. With all four games priced below the cost of even one of them when they were new, this is a terrific bargain.

Love This

I bought this as soon as I saw it. Its worth your money even if you own one or more of the games in this product because you'll probably spend more buying them separately.

I love Might and Magic IV and V that have fun gameply and even cooler introduction video.

RIP OFF

This thing could hardly be more of a rip off. Their claims of over "500 pages of hints, tips and walkthroughs!" really amounts to manuals being on the cd so that the game can crash on you when you alt-tab out to look at them. Further these are not the Prima Official Strategy guides, they are in fact the "Fast Track" guides which means that huge sections of these books are simply not there. Instead you are afflicted with more advertising to buy the books which are supposed to be with the game when you buy it. (Gee how magnanimous!) Some of which are no longer even in print! This is the exact type of marketing that is making it very difficult for folks who are not essentially lying bald faced on the box for their games. My next stop is the web master.

Direct X 6.1 is obsolete on New Computers

I am a big fan of the M & M Roll playing games.

The reason I rated this product one star is because the games won't run on the Direct X 8.0 program. New computers are equipped with Direct X 8.0. Forget about downloading Direct X 6.1 from the internet, the only thing out there is the newer version Direct X 8.0.

Forget about any support from the 3 DO company either. I have sent them 2 e mails addressing this issue. No response. I called the 3 DO hotline also. After waiting on hold for ten minutes, I gave up and hung up.

Very frustrating because I enjoy these games.

Best value for the money, but lots of repeatition

If you want either M&M6 or M&M7 then this is the best value for the money. But here's the thing, I played M&M6 a couple of years ago so I bought this. M&M7 really is more of the same. The graphics are the same (moderatly good for 1999, rather weak for today) as M&M6.

The gameplay is mainly hack & slash. Travel to somewhere and kill the monsters. Travel somewhere else and kill some more monsters. ad infinitum. I find myself playing it mainly just to finish the game, but I pretty much lost interest days ago. But if you like this kind of game (and I do) then you have at least a couple of hundred hours ahead of you.

Best classic RPGs ever

I don't have this collection, but I have played all of the games on here separately and they were great. The Might and Magic Xeen games are the best of the 80's RPGs games, in my opinion.

Might and Magic 6 and 7 were pretty good, I think 6 was much better. 6 was the most difficult of the Might and Magic games, but I like a good challenge. If you've never played the Might and Magic series, but you enjoy sword-and-sorcery RPGs with challenging puzzles and quests, I recommend giving them a try.

Tremendous value

for RPG addicts, and nostalgic gamers. Big problem:if you dont have Windows 95 or 98, you will not be able to play the first two epics. So beware.

A warning, just in case you are not sure...

These games do NOT work with Windows XP. Most people reading this are probably aware of that, but in case you thought about purchasing it and hoping you'd luck out (like my wife) it doesn't.

A great deal for RPG addicts

This box set contains FOUR games: Might and Magic 4, 5, 6, and 7. It also includes the bonus adventures World of Xeen and Swords of Xeen. Might and Magic is a classic first-person fantasy RPG where you create a party of adventurers and set out on an epic quest to save the world, adventuring into dungeons, wizards' towers, towns, castles, alternate dimensions, and even outer space.

Might and Magic 4 and 5 are my all-time favorite RPG's. The game hooks you from the beginning. You always have something to do (no directionless wandering) yet you never get stuck (no fiddling around for days trying to figure out one stupid puzzle). You are always moving forward and never get bored. By modern standards, the graphics and sound of this game are archaic. But just last year I reinstalled them and got hooked all over again. Regardless of graphics, these games are addictive and fun. Simply the best!

Now enter Might and Magic 6 and 7. Many improvements were made to the original game engine between MM5 and MM6. MM6 was a little rough and unpolished, but by MM7 they had the new system down. Both of these games also provide countless hours of entertainment and make MM4 and MM5 seem like tiny walks in the park by comparison.

I can't even count the sheer number of hours of classic, enjoyable RPG gameplay you will find in this simple box (not to mention cool full-color maps). I also highly recommend MM8 for more of the same!
