Gonna be amazing

This sequel to Pharaoh should be really good, since Pharaoh is an excellent game. One of the problems with Pharaoh is the time it takes to build the monument. The programmers and producers of Sierra Studios found that out and in this sequel they sort of fixed it by making an extra god you can worship in order to speed up the building of the monuments. It's a matter of opinion. But if you are a fan of city building strategy games like Caesar III, then this game is a must.

This addon to Pharaoh adds a plethora of new buildings, monuments, terrain and people. From what I have seen thus far there are to be numerious new scenarios to play and some new campaigns which follow the last ones, and cover new eras of Egypt's history. If you loved Pharaoh, this is an addon that you will have to get!

Can they possibly do it again

I was hooked on Pharaoh for months. It was a good mix of city building and city defence. If the expansion pack is half as good as the original I want it! As soon as I get the money it will be mine! so if you havent got Pharaoh yet and you have a lot of time and patience get Pharaoh AND Cleopatra. They are both good investments I promise you.

Great for Pharoah lovers

After beta testing this add on for the last six weeks, I was very impressed with the additional history of the great leaders of Egypt and new features to make the original game that much more enjoyable.

This add-on installs over the original Pharoah game and includes about fifteen new missions spread over four different campaigns. The wonderful part is the inclusion of tomb building in the Valley of the Kings and famous landmarks like the Great Library at Alexandra and one of the lost wonders of the ancient world - the Lighthouse at Alexandra.

For those that felt missions from Pharoah took too long because the pyramid building process was slow, you now have the option to allow the gods of your city to help speed up the building through blessings, which can shave hours off some games, but only if you keep the gods happy. If not the programmers have added new ways for the gods to punish you for not giving them their due respect. Plagues of frogs infesting your houses, locust destorying your fields, hail storms killing your people and the Nile turning to blood are beautifully done and make game play a joy.

The new missions are more challenging then the older Pharoah missions which may be the only draw back to individuals that found some of the original missions hard to complete.

This expansion also includes the campaign editor that was released earlier this year via the web; new industries such as paint and lamp makers; new statues; new and more difficult enemies to fight; scorpions, loins and asps to deal with, and a number of new material to import/export and use to meet the goals of city building. A few new buildings are also included, my favorite being the Zoo which if kept supplied contains a number of animated animals for your citizens to enjoy.

Probably the nicest feature that old Pharoah players will enjoy in the ability to play any mission in any order you choose. For those that may have gotten stuck on a difficult mission, you'll now be able to skip over it and continue with the game.

This expansion will provide you with dozens of hours of added enjoyment to your original Pharoah game.

They're already working on a new game!

I just read that there will be a completely new game in this series, called "Zeus" or something like that, it will be set in Greece (of course); good thing we have the Cleopatra expansion to keep us busy until then :)

you have to be a devoted Pharaoh fan to give $... for this

i liked cleopatra but i was kinda disappointed with it. First the only thing that is really different then Pharaoh is that there are a couple more buildings. I didnt really like the new missions because they are a lot harder than in Pharaoh and some of them have a time limit! All in all i guess it was a worthy of the title of Official Pharaoh Expansion Pack. I am also looking forward to the new one, "Zeus....", whenever it comes out.

When Pharaoh first came out, to tell you all the truth, I didn't know anything about it. But then my best friend tells me about it (he got the demo), so I went to the website of Pharaoh and it looked pretty good. When I bought it, it turned out to be one of my favorite games, as there isn't a lot of violence, no shooting, no blood. And it's really fun. I don't know how else to put it. I really enjoyed Pharaoh, but when Cleopatra came out, I just went running to get it, and I didn't think it was as good as Pharaoh, but still really good, as it did have a couple of pretty cool features added on that Pharaoh didn't have.

The perfect expansion to a perfect city builder

The main purpose of an expansion is defined as: "Add new and interesting features to the original version, which will in turn bring people back to the game."

Well, after I stopped playing Pharaoh for a while, just due to playing it some much I needed to regain my life back; I bought Cleopatra with the thought of playing Pharaoh again. It worked! Cleo adds some really neat buildings (I love the Zoo) plus a lot of hard missions. The new monuments are worth the price of admission, with a built tome, you can actually see inside! Thus the need of the new lamp makers :)

A great expansion for the true Pharaoh fan.

I would have given this a more enthusiastic rating, because I do play the game and enjoy it, but there are a few issues I feel really hurt the game. Some of the communities are on a timer, which doesn't allow for leisurely game playing and the construction can take forever. By and large though, I would recommend this but advise some patience.

Worth the price
