Not Good For Gameboy Advance

This game is a dissapointment. Due to the gameboy's small screen and lack of buttons this game is extremely frustrating...not to mention the game's insane difficulty. Fortunately on Gamecube/PS2/XBox this game is much better.

Since THPS2's trick system was basicaly broken I haven't tried another GBA Tony Hawk again. If you have access to a PS2, XBOX, GameCube, or even a PSX, get it on there instead. You'll enjoy it a lot more.

very close to perfect

While the Tony Hawk series is no longer new, the developers continue to produce high quality games that are fresh and a lot of fun to play.

Tony Hawk 4 is no exception, and it comes out kicking on the GBA right from the start. The graphics and play control are polished and at the top of the heap. The levels are huge, with tons of stuff to skate. So, what about the tricks? They are all here, including spine transfers and flatland stuff.

If you liked the other GBA Tony Hawk games then you will love this one. My only complaint (which keeps the game from getting a full 5 star salute) comes from the 2-d/3-d perspective the game offers. Because it isn't 100% 3-d, sometimes you can't help but "lose" your skater on the screen, or at the very least misjudge where he is headed in relation to a rail, set of stairs, ramp, etc. This is annoying but you learn to deal with it.

Overall, I would highly recommend this game.

Sure, Tony Hawk 4 plays better on the PS2. But for a portable system, this is probably as good as it gets. Sometimes, due to the 2d/3d viewpoint, it is tough to pinpoint a landing or how to get onto an obstacle. That is really my only gripe, b/c you can 100% throw down with Hawk 4 due to the trick engine. The levels are pretty big and each of 'em have lots of stuff to skate. Get this game.

A decent game for the GBA.

Tony Hawk Pro Skater 4 is a good game I would reccomend to buy. It is my personal favorite that I have so far, although I would not go far enough to say it is the best GBA game hand's down it is incredibly nice to have on long trips. This game feature's many skaters and is a great game to keep around the house. The game also
is not to difficult but not to easy either. This is nice so that the age range is expanded farther than in most games. The Custom built skater is also good so that you make a skater the way you want and have him look however you want. If you have a GBA buy it but if you have an Xbox or PS2 get it on that instead. Overall 7 out of 10.

It is a GOOD GAME but IT IS NOT PERFECT!!!!!!!!

The "create your own skater" thing is cool, but, sometimes you lose your guy behind walls. My only complaint was that you could not move the camera. I recomend it with 4 STARS!! :-( :-)

First off I have full braging rights on every Tony Hawk game (I completely beat it) it wasn't easy but I did it. This game however has been the hardest and the best out of the other two that are out for the GameBoy Advance, The levels alone will show you that anyhow on with the review!
First off this game has a new "system" career mode is more or less like a free skate, yes, you still have a list of goals however you can't just rush of and do them for example you have to skate up to someone, text will pop up and tell you to push "L" for a goal there are several people how will give you goals theres still is the high score, pro score, sick score, and collect skate BUT, instead of grinding like mad to get all of the "points" at once you have to talk to a person get the high score goal beat that then go back to the person and get the next "point" goal which would be the pro score that make it challenging in my opinion but I can see people having problems with it.
The levels Amatuer(sp) Tour consist of College, Alcatraz, Kona(I may have spelled that wrong) the Zoo, Shipyard, London, and something called a "pro challenge, although I have yet to beat it I can make a good guess that theres another tour after this one it probably has the same levels though.
The skaters are Tony Hawk (of course) Bob Burnquist, Bam Margera (woohoo!) Bucky Lasek, Chad Muska, Jamie Thomas, Rodney Mullen, Eric Koston, Elissa Steamer, Geoff Rowley, Rune Glifberg, Andrew Reynolds, Steve Caballero, and Kareem Campbell so everyone that was in the last Tony Hawk although I have to admitthe graphics of the skaters have improved along with the level graphics simply because you can liten(sp) and darken the screen for this game...now if only they's put a sleepmode in).
Almost every level picture I've seen has been taken at Kona Skatepark and that has so far been the level that has the worst graphics so please don't judge the game by it's graphics. On most other levels the graphics are some of the best I've seen.
The sound is the worst part of the game the music is unusually "hard" it mainly has drums and someother instrument that I can't make out all in all it's OK to listen to, the groans and weels turning on the skate board are the same as the last game which was pretty bad but hey every game has a weak spot.
final word: This game is the best Tony Hawk game out there, I wouls suggest that you order it right now and get the fastest shiping because it will be completely worth it. Have fun skating with the Lions heh heh.

This game is great! I would recommend this game to anyone who loves Tony Hawk and has a GBA. The way you play the levels has changed, though. No more 2:00 timer! Well, at least until you start a goal. Actually, all you do is go up to people and if it says 'Press L For Goal', you press L and it will show you what you have to do, then the goal starts. Here is my ratings:
Graphics: 10
Sound: 10
Gameplay: 10
Replay Value: 10
Wow! A perfect 10! Don't forget to check out my other game reviews on this site. You never know where one could be hiding...
