Worst. Game. Ever!

I was appalled at how little thought went into this game. Play is so simplistic that it is barely a game at all. My 6-year-old daughter instantly found it boring, and went through the entire game in 1 1/2 hours. She got to the end and said, "That's it?"

Also, why does a game for little kids need a long & complicated password to get to the next level? This is not top secret material here! A simple word that could be remembered would be fine!

Just because it's for small children does not mean it can't be somewhat challenging.

pony game is tough for little ones

this is geared for little kids but you have to write down a long password to get to the next level all the time and that is hard if you are 4 or 5...!!!

Fun for Kids!

I bought this game for my 8 year old daughter who insisted she wanted it. She had played it before on her cousins gameboy and said she loved it. I played it to try it for myself and I was very disappointed. The game consists of a lot of reading and the pony is given instructions on items to find. There is an arrow that basically takes you right to each item so it is not very challenging. There are only 5 levels to complete and then you have to start all over again. There are a few mini games which are fun, but they are very simple to play. This game seems very tailored to young kids, like maybe 4-6 but then the reading makes it difficult.(Confusing!)Anyways, my two daughters, ages 6 and 8 seem to love it so I guess that's all that matters! I do have a feeling that my 8 year old is going to get bored with it though. I finished the entire game in 1 hour. (But then again, it's not for adults). A really, really, fun game to play is the Disney Princesses. It's fun for them and I love playing it too! ;) Anyways, I would not have purchased this based on my review of it, but my daughters love it.

Now, remember, I'm playing this game as an adult, and it takes maybe an hour to beat. Nothing to it. And most of it is mindless and tedious. But if I was little, I might like it. I was actually surprised by how good the animation and graphics are. It consists of a "quest" where you play a lot of mini-games. (You can also play the mini-games by themselves without having to plow through the rest). You generally play the game as Rarity, and other ponies will keep sending you to "look" for things (which is stupid, because the things are incredibly easy to find). But the mini-games aren't bad. There is a "Pinkie Pie Pinball", and "catch the caterpillar" (think MLP meets pong), "rescue your friends" (not unlike those arcade claw machines), breezie hide-and-seek (sort of like whack-a-mole for really little kids), and various drawing, matching, racing, and dress-up games. If you're a pony collector (like me), it's not too bad actually.

it a great video game

I bought this game because I love my little ponies when I was a kid. The graphics were very good and the story line was very cute. It would be great for young children, but because i am a 24 adult, it only took about an hour to complete the game but you have to write down a long password to get to the next level all the time and that is hard if you are 4 or 5...!!! any way it a fun game to play

My 7 year old finished the game in one afternoon. She really enjoys the game and has completed it a few times now. I have to say she has only played one or two other games so is not an expert at video games. There is a lot of reading, she isn't the best reader yet, but she really likes the game. You can save with a password, there are little mini games that you find within the game.
It is a good game for a new game player. My daughter finished the game initially in one afternoon.

Really cute..

My 9 yr old daughter wanted this game, so i bought it.. i played it first to see if it's something that itsn't too easy. It's my little pony, so it's cute. You basically play games, & you go around completing tasks ect. to get to the next level. It's too easy for her but she likes playing it.

Other games she has are:

pacman (loves it!)
sonic-sega version (loves it!)
dogz (cute game/VERY cartoony - but she loves it! I like it too.)
tetris (likes it)
ant bully (she says it's ok)
strawberry shortcake (says it's a bit hard)
the sims2 pets (i like, but she doesn't get what she's supposed to do)

My 4 year old recently tried this game and was able to play the mini games with no problem. Be aware that the main game requires a lot of reading, which I did not expect, but what I did with my 5 year old was sit next to her and let her "drive" and I would read the text to her. Now she's 6, she can do all the reading herself. Good 1st game.

Cute and fun game...perfect for "My Little Pony" fans.

The game focuses on pony Rarity as she works her way to being the Rainbow princess.

She meets various ponies along the way and helps them either finds things or accomplish certain tasks (e.g. find flags to decorate the town, learn how to twirl a wand, or find one of the breezies - "pony fairies"). Whenever Rarity accomplishes a task, the little 'rainbow' meter fills up and, once it is filled, she passes on to a new level. There are also little mini-games (e.g. dress up a pony, blow bubbles) that can be played separately, if desired. Levels are accessed via password, and there is no 'save' feature.

This game is perfect for little girls or My Little Pony fans. It is fairly easy to pick up because little arrows point you to the right way. Some basic reading is helpful but not required (mom, dad or an older sibling can help out). Rarity meets several ponies in her adventures and even meets up with the breezies and goes through different environments and locations. The graphics are very cute and colorful, and similar to what you would find in the My Little Pony movies and books.

I would recommend it to little kids age 3 to 7 and certainly any fan of My Little Pony will be able to appreciate it, regardless of age. Gameboy games for little girls are relatively hard to come by so we picked up this game for my daughter's 6th bday and she loves it!

Perfect for first time GBA users (Girl)

My daughter who is 5 and has never used a gameboy advance loves this game. There is a lot of text but this is a game that is perfect for bonding with your child. You as a parent can read the text dialog to her and she will get used to holding the gameboy advance and manipulating the buttons. You can even use this as a learning tool if your child is learning to read. My daughter can now can do most of the mini games which are perfect for her age group. The graphics are vibrant. The animation of the ponies is fluid. I am very impressed. Highly recommended.
