Good option for your kid to really know what to do is you have a Dog

In the beggining i believed that "this game is gonna be stupid and simple", but after a while of playing this with my 9 year old daughter, i can say that is not a game, is a virtual pet, and a very realistic one. I really like that way my daughter is making conscience of taking care of a pet. If you want a game for your kid only to play, don't get nintendogs, if you want a game that can teach something to your kid, get it.

I bought this game for my 9 year old daughter for Christmas and she LOVES it! She spends hours taking care of her dogs, taking them for walks and entering then in "dog shows". She told me this is her favorite gifts this year

This game is so amazing because it teaches you how to take care of dogs.
I also think this game is VERY realistic.
It is very fun, so I would recommend this to anyone who loves dogs.
Nintendogs come in 3 other editions, Dachshund & friends, Labrador, and Chihuahua, so please check them out!

My daughter received a Nintendo DS with several games for Christmas..she has only played this one!! She absolutely loves it...She's up to four dogs and counting...Great game, especially for kids who love animals

This was a gift for our 11 year old daughter. Animal lover and aspiring vet, this is a wonderful game that offers some education along with fun. It continues to be challenging as the game progresses. Opportunities relating to earning money in competitions to purchase food and supplies, accessorizing the dogs, teaching them tricks, caring for them, are all fun adventures. We love this game!

I'm nine and writing this under my mom's account -

After I saw this game I knew I would really want it, so I bought a DS and this game. For awhile I enjoyed it, but nintendo isn't really my thing. You can groom your dog and take it out for competitions, walk it, pet it..... though you can only take each dog out for 3 competitions each day. I got SO DEAD BORED, I ended up changing the date, which took some practice, after you take your dog out for a walk it gets ''tired'' so you have to wait for what seems like forever for him\her to redeem her self. This is a popular game, but this is the response I get from kids who own it: M, ''Is it fun?,'' T, ''I guess, but after awhile it kind of gets boring,'' What I think it is, LACK OF CREATIVITY. A few kids adore this game, if you like limmited, easy, age wise, I recommend 5-8. Some kids storngly disagree, but I think this game is a limmited, boring piece of junk. You may like it a little more than I did, but remember, this game is very very limitted, caution when considering it, after a while, the funnest thing you are doing for this over priced game is waiting, waiting for tommarow so you can enter in a competition, waiting, waiting for your pup to finish resting for a whopping [brace yourself] 2 hrs max! [ as far as I have seen my pup, ''reload in energy'',] sorry nintendo lovers, but soon certain bordum will come over you. hardly consider!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got it and barely play it, because it gets plain boring! I mean it takes about 3000 trainer points to unlock one dog. Also there is onley one room you can go in. And you can onley own eight dogs. Worst, if you don't play atleast once a day your dogs start to starve. But on the possitive side, great grapics and the contests are fun! I think there is better games, but its great if you are bored.
