Nancy Drew for a 9 year old

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 2 / 3

I didn't buy it for myself but for my granddaughter. I can say she hardly stopped playing it after she opened the gift. Even got up extra early to resume playing in the morning. It installed with no problems.

Great for younger Nancy Drew fans!

I bought this game for my 9-year-old daughter. Her older sister & I enjoy the computer Nancy Drew games, but they are a little too hard/scary for my youngest. She really enjoyed this game -- it is perfect for the girls who want to play the other games, but aren't quite ready. It took her a few days to complete, and was just challenging enough that it kept her interested, but not frustrated.

Fun Adventure Game for Younger People

If I was 13 - I'd enjoy this game. The game has an engaging story and interesting characters to meet. The graphics are quite good for a DS game also. Yes, the game features several mini-games. Younger people will enjoy the minigames and will find this to be a fun and engaging game.

If you are looking for a good choice for a young child, and a beginning adventure gamer this game is a very good start. Very similar to "Hanna Montana" and other younger people adventures. Which is a good thing because most young people enjoyed "Hanna Montana" or "Touch Detective" as well.

For adults - stick to "Hotel Dusk" which is a much harder and adult orientated adventure.

1st Nancy Drew game on DS

i was excited when Nancy Drew came on DS. this is a fun game like the other Nancy Drew games. but it does have some negatives. like it's short, Nancy probably doesn't look like you think she supposed to and you can't use your inventory like other Nancy Drew games. but otherwise it's fun and i would recommend this game to any Nancy Drew fan.

My 10-year-old daughter absolutely loved this game, but she finished it in a day and a half.

fun and super easy

This game is fun. Its very easy so it can be finished quickly with no problems. If you are looking for a challenge this is not the game for you. I'm not sure if it is even possible to lose at this game.

Fun while it Lasted

I got this game for Christmas and was excited to play it, I loved playing it but I finished it in one sitting. So it's fun if you want a quick game but if you want one that is tough and long and hard don't buy this one.

Not like the PC game

It is a cute game but no where near as exciting as the PC games. I hope that they figure out a way to make it more like those.

Not Exactly What I Expected

I was really interested in a mystery type game with Nancy Drew in it, especially since I grew up on the Nancy Drew mystery books.

I guess I expected too much from this game ... like more real clues and more "sleuthing."

After fiddling around with the repetitive "games" for several hours, I decided to save the game and shut it down and couldn't find any way to save it. Most games like this have a "save" feature. The "manual" wasn't any help, either.

A couple of days later, I got back to it and it wanted to start all over again from the beginning....ugh! I haven't touched it since. I figure I'll trade it in at "Game Stop" next time I pass there.

It wasn't what I had hoped for, but children might find it more entertaining.

I'd love to see some good mind boggling mysteries, with, perhaps, Hercule Poirot or Sherlock Holmes? Even this Nancy Drew one would have been terrific if more thought had been put into it.

Apparently, it was designed for kids and not adults. Oh well. I guess I suckered in for the Nancy Drew name and the interesting picture on the box.

Very little to do - Games Plays it's self

I play the Nacy drew PC games and thought the DS games would be just as fun. They are, at least this one isn't. It felt like the game was playing its self.
