Four words = MY WIFE LOVED IT!

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 15 / 17

For years, I have tried to get my wife to take an interest in video games. She's never cared for them. Even Mario Party couldn't crack her resistance. However, the combintation of the Wii and the brilliant simplicity of this game worked. Within minutes, she was racing and laughing and having a great time. Nintendo has hit the mark with such a user-friendly system: awesome job! Ubisoft did a great job creating a fun, social game that is good for die-hard gamers (me) and complete newbs (her).

A+!

Cool title

This is a great game. It's short, but c' mon guys, all racing games are short and easy nowadays. The only racing game which was ever so difficult and long and not that fun was that Michael Andretti's game on the NES. That was really difficult and long. Other than that, in order to keep the public's attention, they have to be much more fun, and manageable.

Although short, since I beat it in two hours, I really enjoyed it and still enjoy playing it, but this is only because I like to beat the game and upgrade all upgradeable things there is to it, so that's why I still play it and will keep it for a while.

Fun for all. Easy to play.

Retiree here. This is easy to play and a lot of fun. The free wheel is a nice touch. The remote fits perfectly, with no hassle. I purchased this because it's made by Ubisoft, and I enjoy their Rayman Rabbid Rabbits (1 and 2) games.

Update: Just purchased Wii Excite from Amazon. The wheel is great for Excite as well. Amazon's $39 price for Excite is the lowest I've seen. I found The Monster 4x4 as enjoyable as Excite.

A lot of fun!

My 6 yr. old son just got this for his birthday. He loves it! His 8 yr. old sister and I also love it too.

We didn't have any problems using the steering wheel. It doesn't seem to take much turning of the wheel to get the truck to turn. In the first race or two, I was all over the place but once I calmed down and tried not to turn the wheel too extreme, I did a lot better. I loved to do the stunts off the ramps.

The only thing that was a problem was that I tried one time to use a 2nd remote and it didn't work. But again, I only tried it once. I thought the menus could've been better to navigate but we managed.

Overall, we loved it!

Perfect fun for the family afternoon

If you know "Excite Truck" from the same maker than you know already that you can put your expectations high again on this game.

Its basically an updated version of "Excite Truck" with even more exciting new features.

By now the rocketbooster looks already as an oldtimer standard feature ;-)
New is a Fireshield, Oil and Ice slick fields, a feature to push burning oil containers and new stunt features.

Having mentioned all the above new features makes the new smoother graphics almost appear unimportant to the overall new experience.

Fact is the improved graphics significantly help its part raising the game to a new visual level and the additional features do the rest of the magic.

So if on a rainy stormy day, all your family members suddenly check in - one by one - to the self declared in-house gamezone than you can be sure they are all gathered around this monster game.

Definitely one to enjoy !!

A little too easy

I was excited about how well the controls worked for this game. Steering wheel a definate plus. However, I bet the game in two days. I'm not a beat the game kind of person so I was a little disappointed in how easy this game was. Super fun, but a let down in the end.

I purchased this product as a Christmas present. My son has played this game before at a friend's house and really likes it. I already gave him the steering wheel which he loves but the game itself is one of his Christmas presents.

pretty fun and easy to get the hang of

We got this game for Xmas and though i haven't really enjoyed too many of the racing games that we've tried for the Wii, this is definitely the best one i've tried so far. Maybe it's the wheel that makes things a little less awkward, because even my 3 year old son does alright with this game. The multiplayer minigames definitely have lots of potential, but it gets kinda hard to play if you are the player unfortunate enough to be without the wheel. All in all, lots of fun, really easy to get the hang of.

Great Deal but Mediocre Game

I paid $20 for this game and for that price it was well worth it. My 6 yo had some trouble using the wheel (she turns it too much) and turning without the wheel is difficult as well. It's a fun quick racing game to pass the time until Mario Kart comes out.

Simple, but funish

I bought it admittadely for a wheel to play with Mario Kart, but the game seems alright for 20 bucks. However, I'm having problem using the Wiimote with the wheel. On the official Nintendo wheel, there's a cutout for the sensor, but this wheel doesn't have a cut out and the sensor goes 'off' as soon as the wiimote gets inserted.

If anybody would like to leave a comment and point me in the right direction on anything I might be doing wrong with this wheel, I'd appreciate it.
