Great workout

This game is a lot of fun to play a 4 player game. It is so tiring, a great workout.

My 7 year old thinks it's "easy"

My son got this game today and within 1 hour was disappointed b/c he was not challenged. As opposed to Mario Supersluggers which he finds challenging, he thought this was only so-so, and so the review is not high. He does add that it may be more fun with multiple people, however, we've not had time to play with him....

Can be fun, but could have been so much more.

It has a lot of fun events, although the interaction is a little sloppy as compared to Wii Sports. Also, it's difficult for lefty's to play as although you can play left...the characters still show right which can be confusing depending on the game.

Otherwise, the game really is dependent on the user learning sometime ultra complex control sequences (buttons, nunchuck movements, etc...) to perform what should be easy tasks. ...think 'Finishing Moves' from Mortal Combat.

All in all...fun, but not sure if how long I'll keep. ..oh, and be careful not to sprain your wrists when you're trying to run.....timing doesn't have anything to do with the speed...just how fast you can alternate your two hands going up and down.

Lots of variety!

I love how many different events you can play just starting out, and I'm sure that once I unlock some more of them it will be even better! We only played with two people, but I can imagine it being even more fun with a large group. A couple events are difficult to figure out how to do, but even on the first try I was still able to compete against the computer and do fairly well. The graphics are great, and the variety of characters to choose from is huge! It's also very fun to be able to play your Mii. The con I noticed is that if you play for more than an hour or so, events like running and swimming will make your arms very sore! But, overall it seems like a great time and I plan on buying it as a gift as well!

Got Olympic Fever?

As a result of Michael Phelps' astounding eight gold medals at this year's Olympic Games, many adults (and thus likely a fair amount of children) have been glued to their television sets night after night, cheering for the United States (or country of choice) to win a medal.

Thus, if your children (or you yourself!) were swept away by Olympic fever, and you happen to own a Wii, then this game will entertain you to your wits end! Much like the U.S. competing against other countries in the real Games, this game pits classic Nintendo characters (Mario, DK, Peach, Link, etc.) against characters from the Sega brand (Sonic, Tails, Shadow, Eggman, etc.). Much like Super Smash Bros. "determines" who could beat up who, this game establishes victory based on athletic achievements in such events as swimming, track, and field.

The controls are easy to pick up, taking full advantage of the Wii nunchuk format, yet challenging enough to keep you raring to drop that last .10 of a second to win first place.

Overall, this is a great game for those who have caught Olympic fever, or just are intrigued by seeing the Nintendo and Sega franchises combine.

Poor planning on Nintendo's part...

Since ancient times the Olympics have been about competition. For whatever reason when you play with more than one player in Mario & Sonic it will not save records or medals awarded. IE, if you win a gold and set a new world records in sculling with two or more people playing at once, none of these scores will be recorded. So much for competition... Competition brings the best out in people and Nintendo failed to realize this which destroys a lot of the fun in competing and suceeding..

Not to mention no Wifi play, just uploading scores which is nice but these can only be viewed from the game itself. There is no way to check your scoring as in Guitar Hero... Save your money and buy the DS version of this, at least you expect that on a smaller more inexpensive version of the game.

So Much Fun

Overall this game is really fantastic. I've only had it for one evening but it's a blast. The controls are intuitive once you read the controller settings before the event. I don't think any event is necessarily too easy or too hard. It's nice to see all of the old Nintendo characters that I remember from the original Nintendo system but I think it's even more fun to use your Mii. The game definitely gets five interlocking rings.

Great game, must have for wii

It takes advantage of the wii remote, and is a very fun game to have. There are a few events that are difficult, but none of them are impossible, and overall, with practice, they are all a lot of fun. It is also pretty easy to unlock the levels, so once that is done, you can have a lot of fun with friends over. It is definately a good party game, and everyone will have a lot of fun and laughs playing this game.

This game takes more energy to complete each event than is necessary. The events are not very entertaining and the game overall is not worth purchasing.

Keeps up with WII Fun!

Excellent game and makes use of WII capability very much. More games are enabled as you play more and start winning.

One of the tricks is to select the right kind of character depending on the game you are playing (skill, power or a combination of both etc...).

I haven't played all the games yet, but so far it is great.
