Awefully short. Bored in 15 mins.

After playing Link's crossbow training exhaustively for weeks, you'd expect Ghost Squad to provide at least some depth. You'd be so wrong. You basically have 3 arcade style/Time Crisis type missions each about 5 mins. long. Once you are done with the 3 missions, all you get are new costumes, new weapons and level up on the exact same missions. You still have the same places, same camera movements with slight change in number of enemies popping out.
We rented it after reading reviews saying its "too short". We thought 5-day rental would not give us much time, but I still have 2 more days left on teh rental and I dont want to play it.

My recommendation: Rent it if you have to play it and DONT buy it.

it sucked!

Arcade at home

By all means, the game is quite fun, the graphics are decent, as well as the gameplay is quite unique for a home system. However, being an arcade game, that's all it is. If you've played a shooter at the arcade there's nothing different on the Nintendo Wii system. These games in my opinion are to be played once or twice for a small game while you're out. Unless you have a taste for repititive gameplay, knowing where every next enemy is about to pop out and shoot you, I grow quite weary of the same levels over and over. The game lasted me 45 minutes and I am now tired of seeing it.
As for the unlocking features, there is a number of them, which in my opinion fails to spice up the gameplay of its repititiveness. "Ninja Mode", you wear ninja costumes and go through the same 3 missions as before... nothing new... Oh, wait, your clothes. Those of which you don't even see during gameplay. I don't recommend this game to people who are looking for weeks of tireless fun. Then again, you could give this game to your kids so you can have 45 minutes of peace.

Good party game

DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!!! The game is fun a first but gets boring really fast. The one player mode is bad and the game is only fun if you have friends over. This game was made for the wii zapper and is a good gun game if you have one. Also there are only 3 levels and each level takes about 5 minutes. Even if you do have friends over it gets boring really fast and it gets hard to tell witch sight is yours. Lastly it is a waste of $30 and consider carefully before buying.

Multiplayer problems

The multiplayer mode is a major feature of this game but the game will not recognize my second remote. All other Wii games recognize the other remote in multi player mode. Ghost Squad just flashes when I press the + button on the second remote. Without the multiple player feature, this game is not worth purchasing. I have not seen any resolutions to the problem of recognizing a second remote.

A Few Hours of Fun!!

I was excited for a multi-player shooting game. I have fond memories of the Lethal Enforcers games from the 90's and was hoping to get into that again. Ghost Squad gave me that, but only for a few hours. There are only 3 levels. Each level takes about 5-7 minutes to complete. With 1 player it was difficult to beat the first time, but with 2 players it was very easy. After you finish the game, you have the option of playing the levels again, and accessing new areas. I thought this was fun, but again, only for a few hours.

I got about 5-6 hours of fun out of this, which made it a great rental. For only $[...], this game would also be a lot of fun for some mindless fun. Playing party mode, with 4 people is insanely fun and easy. It's worth a try.

I say it is a solid rental, and for $[...], don't expect a lot of depth. It has replay value with the fun and interactive costumes, but in the end, it is just the same thing over and over.

Ghost Squad review

Well.... Ghost Squad! is a arcade game were "you" play a character who has to show the bad, guys who's boss. you take control with your wiimote as your weapon! use the wiimote. to fire and shoot and take aim firing at your foes. the cool thing is. with the wifi you can see other peoples scores! so it's all ways updated! if you have the Wii zapper or the Wiigun it makes the game funner. plus sniping is good. th only thing is the voice acting is terrible and when people talk it's a few seconds off. but.... it's very fun! I enjoy it it's funner with more then one person! I think you should give this game a try I know. the graphics aren't that good either. but the game play is solid! very addicting. you wont stop playing this! and unlocking weapons and camo is EVEN MORE FUN!

Fun for about an hour

I was really excited to relive my Arcade Shooter days with Ghost Squad but it just didn't quite deliver. Overall it's a fun title and if you can get it for $20 or less then it's a must have but you'll probably have just as much fun renting it. After about the first hour of playing it starting getting "same old same old" status and it's a VERY short game, we killed it in an afternoon. The controller calibration is kinda flawed in my opinion as well. It really forces you to stand back father thatn you may want to, or have the room to. I also found my arm getting tired quicker than while playing other Wii games. However using the Wii Zapper this game really shines well, being able to steady your "gun" with two hands not only makes it easier to play but also adds that "Arcade realism" feel to the game. The levels are kinda blah and the graphics aren't anything you didn't see 5 years ago in the arcade BUT it's still fun, even if for only an afternoon or so.

Light Shooting fun

ghost squad provides you a light shooting game under $40. The story may lack length, but the different routes one is able to take in the three missions gives one a sense of control. it feels very much like the arcades if you play with the wii zapper.

Would be more fun if 2-player actually worked

I bought this game specifically for the two player co-op. Imagine my frustration when the game simply refuses to recognize another wiimote. Even though our extra wiimotes are fully charged, calibrated, and in fact often used in Wii Play and Wii Sports, when it comes to this game it's like they don't exist. Efforts to have other people enter the game just cause the wiimotes to flash and then give up, despite annoying directions to just hit the "+" to join the game. A web search indicates this is not unique to my system, but is a problem with the game itself.
