Evil Dead: H.t.t.K is an average game. The controls are a little inconvenient, but this after all, a dreamcast tiltle. Graphics and story are fairly decent and there's alot of blood (not one for the kiddies). For the price it is a nice little pick-up to add to your dreamcast collection.

worst controls alltime

how can anybody like this terd yeah it has neat graphics and sound and bruces voice but the controls are the worst in videogame history no joke basically u walk around with jerky animation using a button to flail your chainsaw in every direction with no aiming at all even worse it gets stuck in the creatures and runs out of gasoline cause of technical glitches the whole game u are running 15 frames per second in grainy semispooky backgrounds flailing your chainsaw at poorly drawn creatures this games a joke i own 5 game systems nearly 400 games and beat ever 1 of them but i wont even play this disgrace 1 time even for 6 bucks its not worth it

Not worth it at any price

A very below-par game that spoils the memory of the movies.

to sum this up quickly the game is very hard but very good. the graffix are wonderful and give me the creeps worse than Resident Evil when it first came out. im no wuss bit this game is creepy. and as a bonus, this game tries to stay true to the Evil Dead trilogy of movies, including, Army Of Darkness. If you havent seen these flicks do yourself a favor and go rent them, any major movie store will have them. it adds to the overall experience of the game. i assume youll enjoy this game especially if you take the time to watch the movies.

Doesn't live up to the name of the Movie

Sure this is an Evil Dead game but whos kidding. This game isn't that great. Games based on movies usually suck But I gave this game a try(yes the Dreamcast version of course) and it wasn't all that gret.

The graphics are ok I guess. The controlls suck. Gameplay is dull otherwise if you love Evil Dead and want to try out the games steer clear away from this hunk of junk. It's your choice but trust me it's not worth the money. Crappy game.

I give this a 2 out of 5 stars...

For anyone who's seen (and loved) the Evil Dead trilogy, this game is seriously for you, while survival horror game fans will be a tad disapointed. This games story is made to be a ligitimate sequel to the movie (So don't expect the funky "starting over from scratch" thing from Evil Dead II). Ash had been getting Nightmares from his experiences with the Deadites so his new girlfriend (Evil Dead lingo for demon bait) suggests he should go back to the house to face his fears, "Big mistake". There is only a moment of comfort before Ashes disembodied hand (The only thing left from the previous incident) shows up and starts Dr. Knowby's recorder with the evil incantation on it, starting it all over again. The evil dead is awaken, and of coarse, takes Jenny. Before Ash goes to find her, he grabs the hatchet above the mirror, his reflection in the mirror then comes alive and knocks him out (Bad Ash baby). When Ash awakens he realises that the situation would call for more than a hatchet, so he goes to the tool shed and makes himself a new chainsaw for his hand (Hoo-freakin-ra!) And that's just the beginning intro. Your goal then is to find the 8 missing pages of the Necronomicon. If you can get past the stiff battle system and annoying amounts of enemies this is a great game (You can get used to the battles), especially if your an Evil Dead fan. And like I said before, it's story elements make it a ligit sequel (Just wait till you see what's in the fruit cellar)

p.s. I apologies to the people who haven't seen the movies, maybe someday you'll understand what I was trying to say here

Hail to the King Baby!

Me and my friends got this just in time for a New Years Eve gaming night. Though the controls have problems if your not a Resident Evil fan, it just takes a little while to bridge your synapese in order to play this game. Hey, if you could easily beat it form start to finish, it isn't worth the time. Though the camera angles do may it frustrating, it also adds to dificulty and a cinematic style of play. Besides, if you idolize the squared jawed hero, you know he's stupid and makes lots of mistages, otherwise he wouldn't have three movies and a video game. Sometimes I'm happy to watch his soul swallowed by the deadites cause of the frustration I get. Of course, thats just me. [DA] Jester

Worth the money

This game is better than I expected it to be compared to what everybody was saying about it. Don't worry about the grafics. The grafics are better than Resident Evil 2 and possibly 3. The controls soon become a second nature if you know the resident evil controls. And you can even walk around while you are swinging your weapons around. They even have some awsome detail in the backgrounds like in the hellbilly house they have chopped up body parts in barrels and hanging by meathooks on the walls. They have so many things in hear that remind you of the movie. They even have the broken bridge if you walk strait out from the house and search for it. If you like the movie or the resident evil games you will love this game. The only thing I had trouble with is the way you save.

THQ... be ashamed!

Now, you have two types of successful game developers: There are the companies that rely on their own creativity and love for the gaming industry to develop cutting edge games that everyone loves... Then you have companies like THQ who rely heavily on franchise titles to sell their games. They have the title "Evil Dead" AND THAT IS ALL. This game is a disaster. If you are a true fan of the Evil Dead series, you should be insulted by this game. It never comes close to resembling the original movies. Where are the gratuitous amounts of firehose blood? Where is the slapstick and camp? Why is Ash so mundane? I doubt the developers ever saw the movies. The game play itself also suffers greatly. Imagine the resident Evil Series with even worse play control. Creatures respawn immediately after they are defeated. Was this game ever beta tested??? Did no one complain in development???!!! For those of us who once again fell for the marketing scheme, I suggest rioting in the streets. Bad THQ! Bad boy! All others must avoid this game at all costs!!!! Not since Atari Pac Man has there been such an atrocity!!! ...grumble grumble.

Great "4th" Evil Dead installment

...where do I start. This is an all out amazing game. The creepy atmosphere of any place in the game had me from the start. The graphics are very good, and it is also very nice to have Ash himself, Bruce Campbell doing the voice overs and the voice of Ash. Upsides, more than enough to cure hardcore Evil Dead fans of their lack of new stuff. It follows everything, and proves to be a very well done sequel. Downside-it is ... HARD. The first encounter with the hellbillies and inbred redneck zombies will leave Ash with poor health. Heck, all the the deadites will do this to you. A must for Resident Evil fans who want a little more variety, and best for fans of the movies.
