Even Better Than The First

Out of the games I have played, this is the best Dragonball Z Budokai game of the series. I have yet to play Tenkaichi 3, but I expect it will be as good if not better than this game. There are more characters than any other game in Tenkaichi 2, a bigger story mode, and best of all: In-game transformations. I was so annoyed, when Dragonball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 1 came out, without any transformations. Instead you had to play as either the normal character, or one of his/her transformations. Now in Tenkaichi 2 you can choose to either play as a normal character, and have the option to transform, or you can still play only as one of the character's transformations.

The controls of Tenkaichi 2 are the same as in 1, so I would advise buying 1 before you play 2, so you can get used to the controls, if you have only played any of the original Dragonball Z Budokai games. If you haven't then I might suggest you just stick with Tenkaichi 2. In the new game there are also more possible combinations, although like with Tenkaichi 1 it is still more limited than DBZ Budokai 1 - 3. One feature that I would love to see in a new Dragoball Z game is kicking. In both of the Tenkaichi games, you are only able to use one of two attack buttons, but the attacks could be punches or kicks. On top of that there is no way that you can start a combination with a kick.

The graphics are essentially the same as Tenkaichi 1, and the same with the music. In some ways this is a bit of a let-down, but in the end neither of those features are what I bought the game for.

What I did buy the game for was the huge number of characters. There are still more than before, and I have heard that Tenkaichi 3 has even more. Unfortunately there are still many characters missing, even though they are minor ones. When is a game going to come when people will be able to play as any of Cooler's henchmen, King Cold, or The Spice Boys? And what about characters from Dragonball, and Dragonball GT? In the past they have included characters, and stories from these series, so why not include all the characters?

I suppose however that the producers want to emphasize the fact that it is a DRAGONBALL Z game, and not a DRAGONBALL, or GT game. Still it is a good, fun game, and I expect big things out of Dragonball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3.

One of the best game I have ever played

I have had this game since the first day it was released and I can tell you I had high hopes for this game and it has yet to let me down.

The good:

There is about 100 different chars you can end up with

The storyline mode is great to play in and takes you quite a while to even get finished with that as you need to hit up so many different area on the map or you could miss out on items or even piece of a new person

The fighting controls make the game one of the best I have ever played, you can pretty much defend against all attacks with many different type of skills and abilities

The only bad thing about the game is that even at the hardest level you can put it at fighting jsut seems so easy only time The computer almost never beats me in free for all battle( 5 vs 5 I think) only when I give the computer all giant Apes or other huge monsters and give myself some of the weakest fighters in the game I have a good chance at losing.

For some reason the computer level seems to go up and down during battles, for example I will give the computer a very weak, small and slow character, and yet the computer fights very very well but at time during the match the computer seems to be less and less harder and at times can be very easily overpowered with a simple character that could be easily killed within a few seconds if you are not on your toes.

Awsome Game!

This game is so intense!! So many characters to choose from. Live the entire story. Fight the ultimate battle to the end. You can make custamizable characters after you get a code from the internet or a friend. More tornaments then ever before. This is one hard game to beat so far.

Very fun/addicting

If you like DBZ/DBGT then you should buy this game. In fact, if you like ANY of the Dragon Ball games you SHOULD buy this. It's very fun and very addicting. You play one match and you say, "Ok, just one more." and it keeps going from there. The gameplay is great and I can't wait for a third if it comes out.

A lot of fun!

This is according to my 14-year-old son, who has a lot of experience with Dragonball Z games and got this one for Christmas:

"I like the variety of attack skills and the awesome graphics as I fly through realistic lands! There are enough characters to last a long time, and it takes a long time to beat this game."

A great game

This is a great game overall. It features some different things then DBZ budokai 1,2,and 3 but you'll pick it up fast. It's got fast pace action and a huge adventure mode but a lot of the characters are hard to get. You have to get to items and fuse them together....which is sometimes hard because you don't know which ones to combine. In the end i recomend this game to people who enjoy fighting game or Dragon Ball Z.

Biggest, best, most complete DBZ game ever!

The "Dragon Universe" story mode of the game begins with the opening of the DBZ saga (Raditz arriving on earth) and ends with the climax of the pretty terrible DBGT saga (Syn Shenron getting whacked). Also included are some of the movies like Broly 1 & 2 (why didn't they include Bio-Broly? WHY?!?) and the little known Makyo Star among others. The annoying thing is, there's no real transition. One moment you're playing in the Z universe and then you're suddenly in GT.

But the characters are the real juice. There's Goku (Base, SSJ, SSJ2, SSJ3, SSJ4), Piccollo, Krillin, Vegeta (Base scouter, Base, Base 2, SSJ, ASSJ, countless others), Gohan (Kid, Teen, Teen SSJ, Teen SSJ2, Adult SSJ, Adult SSJ2, Mystic, Saiyaman) to name a few. But sometimes even slight outfit changes are listed as separate characters. There are three slots for Goku (Normal, SSJ4, Kid), five for Vegeta (Scouter, Normal, Second, SSJ4, Baby), four for Gohan (Kid, Teen, Adult, Mystic), four for Buu (Majin, Pure Evil, Super, Kid) etc etc. That kinda gets on my nerves when I spend a lot of cash upgrading Vegeta and then unlock a different and better version of him IN A DIFFERENT SLOT!!! The same goes for Goku, Gohan and Buu. But while the game isnists on saying that EVERY DB/Z/GT character is in the game, there aren't. Most GT characters are nowhere to be found (not a big loss actually), Chi-Chi, King Cold and Dende among others are absent and such. Then there are the uber-secret charcters. Even if you complete the game 100 % (I've done it) there are still charcters not unlocked. Those need to be unlocked via the Fusion feature but the game doesn't tell you that, nor does it give you any HINTS about how to do that or how you actually fuse items. Characters like Super 17, Broly and nearly all the Buus can only be unlocked by the fusion feature this makes completing the game a chore since you have A LIMITED AMOUNT OF FUSION TRIES nad the ability to fuse must be purchased from the item store.

But the fighting system is great. It plays similarly to a 3ps shooter, with the player in full control of the character in huge enviroments.

DBZ BT2 rules and you must buy it. Ta. :D omg lol

This IS a Great GAME!

I should know. I've been a fan of the Dragon Ball franchise for years. I tried it at game crazy and it was fantastic! The attacks and graphics have been improved, there are better combos in the gameplay, better customization of the characters, more areas to fight, more modes to play in, and it covers all the stories in the anime from when Goku first meet Bulma to when he used the Spirit Bomb on Syn Shenron.
