A big disappointment

The first three reviews are surely from company shills. Where's the creaty of the previous games? In short, Crash of the Titans is stupid, repetitive, unimaginative and boring. Don't waste a cent even renting this game. I'm so glad I didn't trust these reviews and just rented before buying. A question for the new owners: if you're going to put time and money into designing a video game, why not do it right - like the old games? Wow. Sad !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have long been fans of Crash Bandicott. This is just another favorite for my son and I.

More difficult than previous versions.

Haven't had much play time with it but so far it seems to be a welcome departure from the previous versions.

Good but not great

I have gotten every crash bandicoot game so far. So when this game came out I had to get it. I thought that it was cool that they added a co-op option. Some of the bad parts were it did seem a bit repetitive and really didn't even feel like their were bosses. In previous crash games I have enjoyed the whole warp room thing. I hope in the next game they go back to the warp rooms. Over all I thought this game was good, just not great. It really didn't feel like a crash bandicoot game to me though.

IT WON'T BLOW YOUR MIND, BUT IT'S DECENT 7 OUT OF 10

Crash of the Titans gives the beleaguered platforming icon; Crash; some new life, but it still has a ways to go before achieving the status the franchise had on the original Playstation and fix the mistakes made by past predecessors (Much like Spyro). This game churns out decent results as a kids game, but it did little to impress me with something new.
WHAT THE GAME IS: Crash's arch nemesis Neo Cortex, and his niece Nina Cortex plan for world domination (Gee, what a surprise) and are turning the local woodland creatures into towering, hideous-looking titans. So it is up to Crash to save the world, and do some serious a**-kicking to a number of villains. So you fight enemies, "jack" titans, make your jacked titan beat the crap out of more enemies, fight bosses, and of course platforming.
GRAPHICS: Cute, cartoony look with vibrant colors and environments and cool character designs, but textures are a little sloppy.
MUSIC: It will only bore you, don't even bother trying to enjoy it. The crappy music is one of the game's low points.
SOUND: Decent voice-acting, random one-liners from enemies, beating the crap out of enemies, and Crash's annoying animal grunts (Shut the hell up already!).
GAMEPLAY: The gameplay is average, but the monster jacking feature; a feature in which an enemy that is near death can be commandeered, ridden, and forced to do your bidding by defeating enemies and solving environmental puzzles; is a welcome feature that is a lot of fun and feels innovative, but it can't cover up all of the lackluster gameplay. Luckily, there is the greatly appreciated co-op feature which makes this game a lot more fun if you play it with a friend. Controls work fine, but the camera can be particularly frustrating during the platforming sequences, especially when you play this game on co-op, and can cause you to be put in a blind spot and you can die unfairly. But, most of the features work properly, but they still need more polish because the game feels undercooked and shallow.
OVERALL: Kids will probably enjoy it, but the more hardcore gamers will not enjoy it so much because the various little bugs that could have been corrected during the game's development. But this game got lucky with me, usually I'm not kind at all to kids games which is why I went down in infamy for my review of The Bible Game which earned me a large group of haters and not-so-nice comments from angry parents. I found it to be fairly enjoyable, but it still has a lot of things to fix before the franchise can truly be restored, but the game's saving graces are co-op play, monster jacking, decent graphics, and some moderately interesting challenges. But I'd have to recommend Over the Hedge more than this game because the various interesting challenges, lots of missions, and tons of unlockable goodies to be found, and great multiplayer. This game is still worth a look however.
THE GOOD: Co-op, decent graphics, moderately interesting challenges, lovable crew of characters, and monster jacking.
THE BAD: Outside of co-op and monster jacking the gameplay is lackluster, story is boring, music is crappy, and it feels rather shallow.

Pretty fun game, but very easy

This game adds a douse of combat to the classic Crash Bandicoot performer style. This game has great graphics, nice character design, and good music. But all the levels are kind of the same, the game is easy to beat, and it is just very easy. Buy it if you are a die-hard Crash fan like me, but for everyone else, I would suggest a trip to the local Blockbuster.

I love it

I'm 7 years old and I rented this game. This game is so much fun. I like all the guys you can fight. You can ride them and use them to fight other bad guys. Maybe you should try it.

Crash is back and ready for action!

After playing Twinsanity and CTTR, and being a bit disappointed with them, I had been wary of this latest game. But, being a huge Crash fan, I got it to add to my collection.

I love this game! It may not be as good as the original trilogy by Naughty Dog (that's probably impossible), but it has a good mix of action and gameplay.

Once you get the hang of defeating the Titans, it's great. Until then, you'll get a little frustrated as ten Titans and fifty (exaggeration) minions all take swipes at you. Here's a hint: use your heavy attack (hold down triangle) frequently. With this, you can jack someone even as hard to defeat as a Battler with some ease.

The bosses were good. I missed Dingodile but Radical says he'll be appearing again sometime soon. The hardest boss in the game, according to the majority of my Crash playing friends and myself, is Uka Uka. After him, defeating the final boss (Nina Cortex) isn't as difficult. Here's another hint: when playing Uka Uka, jack a Battler and use your cyclone attack. If done properly, this will completely stun him.

The levels are much more linear than Twinsanity was, which for me was a plus (some people prefer free-roaming though so they wouldn't enjoy it as much). They're also fairly long compared to previous games, so be prepared to spend a decent amount of time playing before you can save your progress. I recommend starting the game on Normal Mode although if you beat the game on Hard Mode (without 100% completion, unlike Normal Mode) you get an upgrade sooner than you would on the others. However, be warned, Hard Mode lives up to its name until you have enough experience playing it. Although on previous games it was hard to get a Game Over, it's not uncommon on this game even for seasoned Crash players.

If you ever get frustrated with the Titans killing you before you have a chance to strike back, my advice is to keep trying and jack as many as possible. When you jack a certain amount of the particular Titan you are fighting, you will unlock their skin. With this skin, you can completely stun them with one hit, making fighting them much easier.

I highly recommend this game to both people new to Crash and people who have been following it since it began. Have fun!

This was my first time every playing a Crash Bandicoot game. I had never really paid too much attention to them because I was usually more interested in games like Devil May Cry, Castlevania, Prince of Persia and so on and so forth. But then Crash came, well, crashing into my life in the form of a rental brought to me by my youngest nephew. At first I didn't want anything to do with it because I was not sure it was going to be all that great as the commercials made it look. But the nephew begged me and I just couldn't say no to him. I pretty much figured that I should just play, get it over with and go on to bigger and better things. I. Was. Wrong!!! I became enraptured by it the moment I hijacked my first monster. Let the mayhem ensue!!! I was having so much fun that I kind of stole it away from the nephew with the determination to finish before he could. I am only on level 17 sadly. The characters are so much fun and just hilarious. I had to kick myself in the seat of my pants for being so judgemental before I even gave it a chance. I am set on finishing that's for sure! Now all I have to do is either keep renting it or stop being cheap and just purchase it.
Wrap up:
I give this game a big fat smooch for being so awesome and for those who just aren't sure, go ahead and give it a chance! What do you have to lose?

Different but still hours of entertainment

We are big Crash fans... been playing since we got our first Playstation (13 years!). We have conquered all the previous Crash games and continue to get them out over and over. We were so excited when we heard this one was coming, and it did not disappoint! This Crash is different from the old ones... now it's more 3D and there are lots more features you can use with the controller. For instance, Crash used to only be able to jump and spin, and as you moved up in the game you would get more "advanced" features like double jumps and even a gun to shoot. This Crash starts off with kicks and punches and advances quickly to more exciting features as the game progresses. Instead of falling off cliffs all the time, this Crash can grab the edges of things and pull himself back up (not to say you CAN'T fall off, just there is more forgiveness and excitement with this one.) Also, you don't have the "tunnel effect" the old Crash's had... in other words, the worlds you go through are more wide open. The only thing that is a little hard to get used to is that this Crash uses more hand-to-hand combat. It just feels different than jumping on someone. You actually have to punch and kick someone to stun and/or kill them. Maybe it feels more human and less like a fantasy, so it feels sort of mean. But then you get desensitized to it, like always, and can go on trying to get through the worlds and achieving your missions. I highly recommend this for Crash veterans and newbies alike. It's lots of fun and doesn't get boring like 90% of the other games out there... this game keeps you entertained for hours and hours and weeks and weeks (maybe months!) until you get to the end.
