Very fun at times, but really boring at others

this game is definitely worth (...)which is what its listed at in toys r us, but it is still not a classic like it could have been if the action came quicker.

Online play is great and is the first game that i really got into clans in, but its single player is only ok, with slow action and really dumb combat with vehicles where you have to order someone to "Attack Vehicle"

If you have live i recomend this game, however if you dont, rent it first.

Good Sequel

I have played Ghost Recon since the beginning and they keep getting better & better. As far as new features, this game doesn't have a whole lot, but the gameplay is the same great shooter as the previous games. This game is quite a bit harder than the previous Ghost Recon 2, but with strategy it is beat-able. A must have for the Ghost Recon fan.

I have been playing Ghost Recon since the 1st one came out, they have gotten better every time, up until the Advanced warfighter game for the original Xbox. Summit Strike is awesome, it's the best game that there is for Xbox, if you like first shooter military style games

A must have.

Ghost Recon 2: Summit Strike is a must have game for the xbox. This game is Difficult, thanks to some of the best A.I. programmed to date!

Fan's of the original games in the Ghost Recon series will be somewhat disappointed at the game play changes, i.e. you now only have a single team of ghosts and you can no longer jump between any team members.

Cooperative multiplayer is where this game really shines. The A.I. has been done so well that even a full squad of real thinking humans will have difficulty completing many of the missions.

This entry to the Ghost Recon catalog is a fine addition and is a must play for all the Ghost Recon fan's as well as anyone with an xbox that enjoys a very well made challenging game.

Still doesn't convert this Socom player

While this game did some housecleaning, a few poor aspects remain:

- Search engine still blows. Aral Sea has become the new quarry, and there is no way to block that trash out of the server list that take upwards of 45 secs to show up. You can't select any game types when using the "optimatch", just one of three general modes(which has a possibility of 24 variations). You can't exclude camper friendly "no explosives" matches that the underskilled users tend to run. There's no excuse, the first Ghost Recon(XBL launch) had a better set-up.

- Design maps for 32 players and have a 16 player cap.

- Have sniper rifles that don't sway. While there at it why not make the rocket launcher automatic?

- Red X. They have lots of nerve to pull the same stunt twice. These sorts of errors aren't supposed to occur with my Samsung-enabled xbox. I still get randomly kicked from rooms and the default kit has a cheesy weapon.

This game allows for some fun sniping. If you are into one shot one kill then you will love this game.

Would be great if it loaded

I'm a huge fan of the whole Ghost Recon franchise, and was very excited to get this game. But, as it turns out this game hardly ever loads, even if my Xbox recognizes it as an actual game, which rarely happens. The "red X" occurs too often to count. This is probably the most unstable Xbox out there. Which is too bad because on the occasions it does work it is just awesome, cool new maps, and weapons with some of the annoying attributes fixed. If it only worked it would be great. I would hold out on buying this and wait until Ghost Recon 3 comes out, we can only hope that they invested more time and energy in the code of that game.

pretty much the same as GR2

Summit Strike is to Ghost Recon 2 as Island Thumder is to Ghost Recon 1. There all about the same...The main thing I like about the Ghost Recon games are the "save anywhere" ability (and it saves instantly). The pacing moved up a bit from the GR1 games to GR2 games and up again in GRAW...

A good shooter but not as good as original

I played the original Ghost Recon online over and over and held off purchasing any newer version until last week. I do like the graphics which are terrific, however, it seems like total control has been taken away. The missions are difficult which is nice dont want them to be easy but i really liked being able to handpick my group and outfit them with weapons and gear not so in this version. Its an ok game, however, where it really shines is Xbox Live this game is outstanding and if your an online gamer get this game its worth every penny.

An excellent recovery from Ghost Recon 2, this game (although its very hard...) brings back the feel of the old Ghost Recon and supports split screen play which is very nice for those of us who don't have an extra xbox and tv laying around or broadband for xbox live...
