What u would expect from EA

i would give this game 5 stars bout there are a few things..that hold it back..whats cool is u can challege the play..and even if u win..they ignore it for some reason..and they just continue the play like there was no challenge..so basically the challege system is not needed..pass rushing is pretty dang hard..there is also a feature of adding a new expansion team..which is nice but the drawback is that u have to use a existing nfl team to make the switch..also u have to use that teams roster..also the u play franchise..like when u are in season 9..they bring back players that were already drafted early in the franchise..so u get duplicate players..also i have played 9 years so far..in my franchise and ii have yet to play in the snow....but other tham that..its a great game..gameplay is pretty good.

I can't turn the power off on this game! The graphics are unbelieveable, and the gameplay is outstanding. I play on the "All-Pro" setting and it is still challenging. The computer will fight you for 4 quarters. If you find a play working, don't go to that play again. It is like the computer learns from its mistakes. I find the attention to detail is the most important part. You will find more injuries when playing on the artificial turf, than playing on the grass. The players get dirty during gameplay. After a hard hit, your player will have dings and scratches on their helmet. The climate changes as you progress through a season. No more playing in Chicago, in December, and it being 70 degrees. If you play in Seattle, your playing in Husky Stadium with the Husky's logo on the field. There are too many details to list. Check this game out!

this game wasn't the best. The players have huge heads and the graphics look are not great, looks the same as ps2's madden. If you haven't bought this game on ps2 than don't buy it on xbox. don't waste your money on madden on xbox. If you want a football game I would buy nfl 2k2, or nfl fever.

The best football game yet!

While I have not been a fan of Madden games historically (on playstation & genesis) madden 2002 is the best football game i've ever played. The graphics are stunning & fluid, surpassing the graphics of any sports game I've ever seen. It also gives you great gameplay, very accurate player rankings, & VERY in-depth control of the games. I especially like the free-angent signing & how you have to draft AND sign your draft picks.
Admittedly there are some flaws in the game, but most are evident in every football game: namely poor defensive AI and atrocious & repetitive commentary. Other problems are:
1. trading with the computer is rediculous. After many ill-fated attempts at trading with the computer on franchise mode i decided to see what I could get for trading marshall faulk... a 3rd round draft pick?!
2. No customizable playbooks or play creator
3. John Madden
still it is the closest to perfect anyone has gotten for a football game.

When good men get old......or Madden and Summerall you [bad]

I see people complaining about how the game looks, that is looks just like the PS2. I own 1 system, so the PS2 does not even come into play with how I look at this game.

Depth, replay, and sim like. This is for gamers that like sim sports games, not gamers that are looking for a arcade game. The 3 draw backs that I see with this game are :

1.Madden and Summerall , are old, and out dated ( have you listen to them do a real game, they have gotten REALLY bad, just think about how they are in game then ) The voice overs are boring, and like with most games get old real quick.

2.Minor draw in problems, only on replays , plays walk through other players.

3. No SNOW ! When was the last time a season went by and there was no snow in at least one game ?

A very good game, buy it.

Madden 2002 is a very good game. It showshow you can break takles, great graphics, good gameplay, and a good selection of plays. You can gain great yardage on may run plays. Madden has its "Go to Guy." You can choose customized plays for all the key players on a team. It is also very easy to operate. It is a very addicting game. There is "Madden Cards," which include cheats and you can bring back famous players from retirement. The "Franchise" and "Season" modes are very real. The "Two Minute Drill" is a good mode for getting tokens for your "Madden Cards." There is "Training" mode to pratice and get better at the game. You can also "Ask Madden," for the play if you are stuck. You can also unlock lots of "special Teams." For example there is the best players in every franchise put onto the "All Whatever" team. Like Jimmy Brown will be on the "All Browns" Team. I have not yet played "NFL Fever 2002" by Microsoft, but I think "Madden 2002," is a better game.

Madden 2002 is one of the best games ever made, because not only can you play normal football, but you can play into the future, prophesizing what will happen in years to come!

Alright, but its no NFL 2K2

This game is an ok football game. The EA fans will probably buy it just because its EA and dont want to admit the fact that SEGA and Visual Concepts make better sports games, but let them play EA games. SEGAs NFL2K2 is much better in my personal opinion.
